@ BalticGuy and Darksol64-- For a man in the 185 range to have a 5-9.5 eye level sounds quite uncommon considering the standard 4 to 4.5 inches from pupil to crown top. The man would need to have his head tilted up about an inch to hit a 5-9.5 eye line.
Simply look at Mark Gatiss pictured with Rob and with a shoe advantage and we can see his eye level is well under 5-9.5. Commenters don't seem to believe that Gatiss has an eye level even over a flat 5-9 and he has a higher eye level than most!

To give him the benefit of the doubt I'd split the difference and say MOST LIKELY, Heath Ledger's REALISTIC maximum height was 183.5 cm, or around 6'0.25" - in your typical pair of shoes that could be boosted to close to 6'1" - and most men when they state their height ARE including shoes so it would track with Heath's claim (also why most men's stated height is about an inch more than their actual height without shoes) of being "6'1".

The lovely Caroline Munro is showing her Cellar Club fans a film called The Order tonight. I recognise the cast, which includes Heath, Mark Addy and the gorgeous, tall, model-like Shannyn Sossaman but my copy is called The Sun Eater.
It’s a very good film, typical of what Caroline has to offer.
Wasn’t Heath Ledger a handsome fellow? Regardless of how he looked, it didn’t stop him from succumbing to drugs. What a tragic waste of a beautiful life and talent. 😢

Heath was a good actor he really shined in a odd candle burning light in dark knight.
As for height he had a long lanky build looked 6 ft most the time on occasion especially thin he could pass for a weak 6 1.
I cant remember him ever looking under a weak 6 ft and he often had loose posture.

I think it's fair that's he's been downgraded from 6'1. Jake Gyllenhaal is listed at 181 cm and there is definetely not 4 cm between the them. In Brokeback Mountain they both give the two tall guys who are around the same height.

I don't believe Matt Damon is the best candidate for Heath's height to be assessed on. Heath was 1-inch taller then Gyllenhaal and it is quite evident from his height measurement on Conan that Gyllenhaal is around 5'10.25.

Actually rob I remember, time ago, that I have seen two Mugshots of him: in one he was a child and was likely 170 cms and in the other he was maybe 18-19 and looked in the 188 cms...
However the mugshot wasn't a police one, and we couldn't see his shoes!
Overall I always thought that the height catching by mugshot is just a bit distorted (look at 50 cents, for example)...

That is just silly! I was Heath's closest mate from 2006 until his far more than tragic passing. 5 feet 11, taller in shoes and 6 feet 1 inch in cowboy boots.

Has anyone seen hin in Two Hands, the Australian film he did before coming to the u.s.a. He was only 19 at the time, but either australian builders make doorways gigantic, or he's not as tall as everyone claims him to be. If you watch the scene in that film where he's taking money to an elderly lady, he looks small in comparison to the doorway of her apartment, like 5'11" at most. He's got cowboy boots on in brokback, so those give him a 1.75 inch heel, which would make him seem 6'1" and that would mean that in regular shoes he would have been 6'0" even. I've watched all his films and always found myself paying attention to how tall he was in comparison to doorways, and he was always significantly shorter that a doorway in every film he did. So I say 6'0" no more, no less.

6'1" seems to be about right. He was tall but not giant-like. Oddly enough he seemed shorter than Bale in Dark Knight but Bale is actually an inch or two shorter than him. Movie magic, I guess.
