Hi-Tec Squash are a sports shoe launched in the mid 1970's. Designed for Squash, they have become a popular casual trainer, selling over 19 million pairs through it's 40+ year production run.

In terms of thickness, I measured a pair at JD Sports and found they gave almost 25mm or just under an inch of thickness.
