Alexander Godunov's Height
6ft 0 (182.9 cm)
Russian-American ballet dancer and actor, best remembered for roles in films like Die Hard, Witness, The Money Pit and Waxwork II. In a 1982 news article, it mentioned how "because of his size and his stature (he is a muscular 6 foot 1 inch tall), Godunov's strengths and his weakness become magnified on the stage."

Editor RobJust can't see him as tall as 6ft 1, I suppose 184cm is a possibility, though like I said below he was struggling to look taller than Tom Hanks.

when i was a kid i thought he looked big and strong in die hard: maybe 6´1 or taller but last time i saw it i thought he id look about 6 feet and pretty skinny. How things change. He and Hanks was pretty mutch identical in height in that scene. Maybe Hanks was 1/8 taller.

If you look at this one angle from Die Hard, they did a pretty good job of making him look more imposing and menacing onscreen even though he's standing much further back.

All in all, if he really was 6ft3 then so was Hanks and Willis was at least 6ft2!

Editor RobI think it's unlikely. If you see him briefly with Tom Hanks, Alexander is not a 6ft 2-3 guy.

Lol at the 6'3 listing for this guy all over. The 6'0 listing is clearly accurate. Very close to Hanks in the 80's. Funny thought He did seem like a imposing figure in Die Hard but probably has something to do with the dark clothes, slim build, and villain character.

well after looking at the scene with tom hanks i would say that if one of them was taller then it was probably Hanks.if we took away the hair. this guy was maybe no taller than 183 and could have been only 182. He is a hard one he gives a big impression in die hard like he was 185 cm. i Cant guess better than this = shortest possible 182 cm and tallest possible 184. The lisitng is probably the best.the strange thing is how was he able to be litied at all the way from 185 to 191 cm. I also saw photos of him and harrison ford and i think ford looked taller in almost every photo. And ford to me wqs 184 wich means that 182 is very possible for this guy.

Surprised as well that he was only a 6 footer but then I was thinking about how Willis was barefoot in that film. He would have been walking around at 5'11.5" guy while Alexander wearing boots would have been an easy 6'1" hence the height difference. Shows that a guy with a solid build can look big at 183 cm.

Rob, you're seriously telling us he was shorter than Alan Rickman and barely taller than Bruce Willis?
He used to get listed as high as 6ft4-5 which I knew was too much but then 6ft3 and then 6ft2. I was certain he was around that zone at least from watching Die Hard.

It's fair to assume he isn't 6'1 as the article suggests, looks to be edged by a post-back injury Harrison Ford and a weak 6'1 Alan Rickman. Looks very similar in height to both Tom Hanks and Bruce Willis, though. My final guess would range from Godunov being between 5'11.75 - 6'0.25... 6' flat for him is a fair shout!
