English actor, best remembered for films like The Shadow of the Cat, Witness in the Dark and Circus of Horrors. On TV he starred in William Tell.
In the Spotlight directory, he used to have himself described as
"6 feet".

He at times appeared to edge out Andre Morell in Shadow of the Cat and was close to the tallest cast member in that film. Phillips at 6ft is a good fit, in my opinion. Great flick too.

Comfortably above 5’11”, but comfortably below 6’0”. Phillips never gave the impression of a six footer to me, in the way someone like Charles Napier did. I’m standing by 5’11.5” for Phillips, even though Stewart Granger seemed only two inches taller than Phillips in The Secret Partner. Maybe Granger was 6’1.5” by the 1960s or even that height at his peak.

Looks 6ft to me, 182 cm minimum anyway.

Rob, could we compromise on 5’11.75“ for now?
Phillips struck me as more 5’11” than 6’0”. In fact, in The Shadow of the Cat, Phillips had little more than an inch on 5’10ish William Lucas, and was looking around 5’11.25”. I am quite confident Phillips was always under six feet, but rounded up like many others.

Watched a film with him in it today and he did indeed look 6ft. 182-183 cm range. Good add, Rob!

I like the sound of ‘The Shadow of the Cat’; there are plenty of cat shadows in my house after dark!
6ft. 🐈🐈⬛🐈🐈⬛🐈

Rob, I think 5'11.5" might actually be the ticket. At 36:25 below, 5'7" Barbara Shelley is nearly as tall as Phillips!

It's a possibility.

Enough names for a Fawlty Towers tag, Rob?
I count 10: Cleese, Scales, Sachs, Booth, Michael Gwynn, Robin Ellis, Conrad Phillips, Bernard Cribbins, Geoffrey Palmer and Una Stubbs.
