David spits out something nasty and turns to his then comedy partner, Rob Newman, and says, “See that piece of flob?” Rob replies, “I do!”

“That’s your swimming pool that is…..!”

….and so the insults continue, all correlated with an event from history.

I remember back in the 90s coming back from the toilet and hearing a load of laughter emanating from my television.

Part of the laughter was coming from David and Ivor, his lookalike brother, as regards a programme about Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, also known as 'Derek and Clive Live'. They were laughing about the sketches regarding the rude 'this bloke came up to me....' artwork, a clandestine experience which Led Zeppelin were listening to in their private jet plane in the 70s, or so rumour has it. 😜

I tell you this, folks.... it is FUNNY!
David and Ivor were chuckling so much that it was infectious. 👌

Better days, guys, better days. I played it to my Mum and she said, "All you have inside that head of yours is NONSENSE!"

...but my Dad liked it, and he also liked 'History Today', which we'd 'play' together! 😂👌

I'm so sorry to have read on my phone that David Baddiel's Dad, Colin, has passed away. David has two brothers, Ivor and Dan.

This brilliant comedian needs a comment for 2020. He made me so many hilarious memories, watching 'History Today' with my late friend, Bert, courtesy of his series 'The Mary Whitehouse Experience', with his pal Rob Norman.

David could actually pass for 5ft9 in the above picture, but he has got shoes on, normal mens shoes, which can probably give up to an inch. I don't know for sure because I've never considered wearing them, but that's how much taller my boyfriend looks when he puts his shoes on!

He is one of the funniest comedians I've had the pleasure to watch. One of my favourites was a sketch from 'The Mary Whitehouse Experience', which he did with the long-haired Chris Norman. It was called 'History Today' and they were both dressed up as a couple of old professors. Then when they started talking about history, little was ever achieved, for they started insulting each other, likening the other one to a festering historical unfortunates and saying "That's you that is!"

They wouldn't just stick to historical figures or each other. They'd insult each other's parents and anything they could think of to have maximum impact!

I thought it was hilarious and showed it to my Dad. He said they used to do that to each other at school, with catastrophic results, where the victims would often end up in tears!
