American actor best remembered for roles in TV series Bonanza, Peyton Place and All My Children. In an archive interview he talked about his height "I was told that I'd have to wear lifts in my boots. And the boots already had heels. I said, 'Why? Mike Landon's 5'11", I'm 5'11", Lorne Greene is 5'11", Dan is about 6'1...' 'And they're all wearing lifts in their boots. To stay in frame, you're going to have to wear lifts.' I had lifts that were about 5 inches. So we're all walking around with nosebleeds, trying to stay in frame, as it were."

The explanation could be that David assumed Dan was wearing lifts like the rest of the cast. That could cause him to underestimate Dan's true height by a couple of inches.

lol If Dan Blocker was 6'1" or so, then David Canary would have to be downgraded to 5'9 or less. Dan was always about 4 or even 5 inches taller than David on Bonanza and there are a few episodes in which Dan took his boots off that strongly indicate that he didn't wear lifts and was 6'3" or a little more. Therefore,I think that David was mistaken in the above quote about Dan. I do think that David was 5'10 1/2 or maybe 5'11.
