Gerald, I don’t think Tomlinson and Williams ever worked together so there’s no way of really knowing who was taller of those two.
Compared to Van Dyke though, Tomlinson had a clear edge so no less than 6ft1 and I’m open to giving him a fraction over…

Rob, as you have given John Williams 6’1.25”, I reckon you should also give 6’1.25” to Tomlinson, especially seeing Tomlinson gave a taller impression to me than Williams did.

In Mary Poppins, his character is described by a policeman as “about 6’1”. He could not have been anything under that, in my opinion.

In the 80s Herbie, the Love Bug tv show, Larry Linville had about a centimetre on Jones and Jones was about two inches taller than 5’10” Richard Paul, which fits in nicely with my theory that Jones peaked at 5’11.75”. However, with Tomlinson in The Love Bug, admittedly Jones looked more 5’11” range.

I doubt Jones was under 182cm as he had at least 4cm on 5’10” listed Charles Lane in The Ugly Dachshund, at least 7cm on 5’9” listed Roddy McDowall in That Darn Cat! and solid six footer Charles Grodin was only a tad taller than Jones in Beethoven. Six footer Richard Eastham was also around Jones’ height in That Darn Cat! Tomlinson was probably over an inch taller than Jones in The Love Bug. If Sid Caesar was a legitimate 6’0”, then Tomlinson was most likely a tad over 6’1”, there was at least a 3 cm height difference between them in The Fiendish Plot of Dr, Fu Manchu (Tomlinson’s last film).

I think Sid Caesar was 6’0” max. In The Fiendish Plot of Dr. Fu Manchu, the 62 year old Tomlinson had the 57 year old Caesar by more than an inch.

I’m tempted to see my second favourite actor be awarded the full 6’1.5”, but to play it safe, instead I’ll politely suggest upgrading Tomlinson to 6’1.25”. Tomlinson was a fair bit taller than the younger Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. Moreover, Tomlinson still came off as a solid 6’1” at the end of his career in The Fiendish Plot of Dr Fu Manchu when he was 62 years old, he was at least an inch taller than Sid Caesar. Tomlinson also looked over an inch taller than Dean Jones in The Love Bug. Tomlinson may have been the tallest 6’1” person I’ve ever seen.
