I remember that Des was sadly killed off in 'Coronation Street', but I didn't recall that it was as a direct result of Denise's character Natalie's dodgy son, Tony, who's in with the wrong crowd.

The couple had been married for only five weeks, and Des, played by the above-average heighted Philip Middlemiss, was violently pushed by one of the intruders, banging his head, and lost his life while in hospital. 🚑

Head injuries are SO dangerous. 😢

Denise has just started in 'Coronation Street', her young son, Tony, desperately upset having killed the Mum of Gaynor Faye in a car accident.

At first glance, I'd have thought she was around 5ft6/7. She's very glamorous and doesn't look old enough to have a grown up son.

I'm watching Denise Welch on a Celebrity edition of 'Family Fortunes', (named 'All Star Family Fortunes') and she seems to be wearing incredibly high heels, because I wouldn't expect someone of 5ft4 to come THAT far up on 6ft4 Vernon Kay! Apart from 'Coronation Street', I've only really got to know her by watching her as her (very amicable) self in the lunchtime show 'Loose Women'. Denise has a very pretty brown-haired niece called Olivia, who looks just a little bit shorter than Denise, but it all depends on their heel heights. She has a blonde sister called Debbie, who looks around 5ft2 or less, and the sisters clearly get on very well! 👱‍♀️💖👱‍♀️

The Welches are winning so far, 😁🤞 against the Best family, headed by Angie Best. Oh, how wonderful - they have been playing for an oral cancer charity and have won £10K, so well done to them!

I shall give Denise 5ft4 and her first comment for over a year.

I saw her in a Celebrity edition of 'The Chase' over Christmas, and I reckon she must have had quite high heels on, because she certainly didn't seem as small as 5ft4. She has a larger than life personality - and that always helps things along!

Yeah 5 ft 4 makes sense for her. Just as you say her impression at times would make you think shes taller.

Gives a bigger impression, I'd thought of her as 5 ft 7 or 8 for some reason. Looks like she could be nightmare to live with haha.
