Denny Miller's Height
6ft 4 (193 cm)
American actor best remembered for playing Duke Shannon on 1960's TV series Wagon Train. In film he starred in Tarzan, the Ape Man (1959). On ErbZine.com he said
"As a bad guy, on MAGNUM P.I., I wore lifts in my shoes so the star, Tom Selleck (like me, was 6'4") would look better/tougher beating me up. It is difficult to tell an actor's height on the big screen. There are all kinds of "tricks" used to make actors look taller – smaller furniture, short supporting cast, smaller props, shoe lifts." On his resume he had himself listed
"6'3, 215 lbs".

Always a good actor in the roles he was given. A lot of times not given plum roles to display his acting chops but always seemed sincere and believable.

Growing up in the 60s, 70s and 80s, always enjoyed seeing Denny act in numerous shows. Very recognizable character actor to my generation. I’ve seen some videos of interviews with him in later years, seemed like a very nice guy

Denny's recollections on how Hollywood uses tricks to change actors' apparent heights, as and when required, is something I have mentioned several times before on this site. Even very tall actors can use lifts to appear as tall, or even taller, than other actors of a similar height, at the discretion of the script, the plot, or the director. Thanks Denny. You were always very entertaining in your many roles, both as a "good" guy and as a "bad" guy. R.I.P.
