Dikembe Mutombo's Height

Congolese American basketball player, who played for teams such as Denver Nuggets, Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets.
In January 1991 he said "Now it's my goal. It's easy to talk about it being my dream because I'm 7-3. But I don't want to become just another player who goes to the NBA as a project. I want to go there and play".
At the draft he was measured 7ft 2 in sneakers. A 1991 article mentioned how he was listed as being 7ft 2 but "He measured out to be 7-1".

Embiid looks about what Shaq does next to Mutombo and Shaq is listed 7'0.25".Embiid's poofy hair does make it harder to gauge his exact height though. And next to 6'11"-6'11.25" KG, Embiid holds up extremely well next to him.
Either Embiid's 6'11.75" measurement was at a low (I could see it with him being 280 + pounds and getting at a low earlier), or several players need downgrades to make more sense of Embiid's 6'11.75" measurement. And I think it is more likely that the 6'11.75" was at a low.

7'3 claim was just Lol. He can't even be 7'3 out of bed. At most 7'2.25" and goes to bed maybe 7'1 flat. People like 7 footers usually lost 3cm in a day.

Dunno about that Slim, Yao Ming is apparently around the 30th tallest person alive, so 1 in 100 million men seems more appropriate for him. I think Dikembe would be more like 1 in 10-20 million men, which is still obviously the 100th percentile to over 6 s.f.

@Animus: looks right all things considered. He is leaning his head when nique isn't really. My guess is Nique is 6'6.5 not a full 6'7". Easy 6'7" out of bed. He doesn't look taller than rodman does and maybe 2" on Barkley and 5 or so on Dumars who is 6'1" range barefoot not 6'3" like he's listed. Mutombo 7'1" solid at his lowest 7'2" or so out of bed
