in Chungking Express and 2046 she seems only a quarter or half an inch taller than tony leung, who I believe is 5'7 to 5'7.5. 5 '7.75 for faye is pretty much bang on, though if tony were really the flat 5'7 or shorter then Faye would be more like 5'7.5. In any case, its funny that near 5'8 is *very* tall for a woman in hong kong; in Chungking she's taller than most of the men! wong kar wai once described Gong Li as 'very tall', and she's only 5'6, to give an idea of just how tall faye is in most of asia.

Your post is suggesting a fact although you are just postulating based on your instincts. You say Kimura Takuya is at least 175cm(written as a fact). I strongly believe Kimura is around 173-174cm. Did you watch the Japanese drama Love Generation whereby Kimura stars alongside Yutaka Takenouchi? Yutaka is 179cm and stands a good 2" taller than Kimura. Kimura may be 174cm at his peak but not taller than 174cm.

Well, I've read that he is 167 cm. Maybe he's taller than that. But certainly not the 176 he claims. Some japanese actors lie about their height. Not all of them. Korean celebs lie a lot about their height though. Some get listed as 177 cm but they're actually roughly 170 cm.

Kimura Takuya is at least 175 cm, as looks it very pretty consistently (heck, I've been watching him since I was a kid). He also doesn't particularly need to lie as there's plenty of popular (young) male Japanese stars at 165-170 cm that can be seen everywhere on TV. Unlike say, South Koreans and HK actors who are all pretty much at a standard of 178-180 minimum nowadays. Tomoko Yamaguchi is tall (around 5'7") and she was a couple of inches shorter than him in the 90s.

If he was truly 167 cm, Faye Wong would be 5'4" and that's very hard to believe.

Kimura has always looked pretty tall to me in his dramas. IMO, Kimura might not be 176cm, but certainly nothing shorter than 170cm.

Takuya Kimura is actually 167 cm barefoot and he wears super platform shoes that make him look about 5-6 cm taller than he really is. And his official height is 176 cm. Asians celebrities all lie about their height. I'm pretty sure of that.

Leon Lai is probably one of the only Heavenly Kings in which his height is correct. He's 182 arond cm so 172 for Faye is correct. Sometimes she does appear a bit taller given her lanky build but she was never taller than Tse Ting Fung (who is around 5'9") when they were together. Kimura Takuya is also around 5'9" but he's never had the best posture, therefore a woman nearly 5'8" could easily look his height.

172cm is correct. I saw a picture where she was standing next to Ayumi Hamasaki who's probably about 5'1 and Faye looked like a giant next to her. Not to mention Faye was in flats and Ayu was wearing heels. It made me think Faye was even taller than 5'8, but Ayu probably lies about her height. Also if you compare her height when she stands next to Takuya Kimura (who is 5'9") Faye looks about the exact same height as he is.

Leon Lai is not 180cm, he's 178cm.
