I recognised Fritz instantly in a Tales of the Unexpected just now. Called ‘Wet Saturday’, a film also tackled by and starring Alfred Hitchcock himself, the story is about a young girl who has killed a man and the lengths her parents go
to protect her from getting caught.
Tall and lanky, Fritz suited his horror film status.
6ft3.

I was thinking more 6’2.75” in Black Sunday... Weaver actually reminds me of another 6’3 listed actor, who probably had a better chance at it: Arthur Hill.

Fritz is starring in the episode of ‘Tales From the Darkside’, called ‘Inside the Closet’, which I am watching right now.
I recognized him instantly, and soon remembered the play itself. Fritz was menacingly tall and has a face and stature made for creeping people out, so no wonder he starred in Stephen King’s ‘Creepshow’!
He was born in January 1926 and died in November 2016, aged 90. 🕯
6ft3.

Fritz was in a Magnum PI episode in 1980 where he played a Navy Captain. He looked very close to Tom Selleck's height when they stood close together. I think 6' 3" is accurate.

I'd have guessed about 6ft3 range for this guy. Looked near 3in taller than Hal Holbrook in Creep Show.

Recently saw Black Sunday and he did pretty much tower Robert Shaw there...physically, it's easy for me to confuse him with the more B-listing character actor David Gale (infamous from Re-Animator).

Sometimes Fritz could look even slightly taller, maybe 6' 3.5", when he appeared in 1960's TV shows like "Mission Impossible", "Man from Uncle", and "Mannix". The 6' 3" listing is an excellent start, he was definitely no shorter.

Rob that 1967 yearbook seems really good (and quite accurate). Where on earth did you get hold of it? What other ones do you have?

I don't have it, but it's searchable on the books.google
I actually got hold of a couple of really old Spotlight directories recently for a cheap price, funnily there were a few entries I noticed where the actress height had (actual height) beside it...as if to say, this isn't inflated!

Thanks Rob, I'd forgotten I asked for him! Yeah I think he could pass for 6 ft 3 with Julie Christie in Demon Seed, but that 6 ft 4 listing always looked a stretch, never was he 6 ft 5in shoes! I still think there's a chance of just under 6'3, but in fairness even as an old guy he could still look towering above a lot of guys.
