His autopsy stated 5'9". So what we have on this site is yet another Internet-inflated celebrity height.

I've recently re watched the Iron Man films and came across this-

We obviously know RDJ is someone who wears lifts and not discretely either but a man who is 179cm with a possible inch dress shoe (making him 181.5cm) due to him being in a suit yet he's still smaller... RDJ must be wearing over 3.75 inch lifts!
This observation has made me question whether Garry really was 179cm or his posture was just really bad in this scene.
Quite funny how he's possibly looking at RDJ in disbelief of how tall he looks XD.

It is always possible Garry wasn't quite that tall, maybe 5ft 10 is possible.
RDJ has a kind of smug look on his face.

Looks shorter than 5'9 3/4" Judd Apatow in all their photos.
I was working retail in 1990s LA and assisted him once, one of the first celebrities I met, and was surprised he wasn't taller. I'm 5'9" he was not taller.

Another tragic loss...

Watching the X-Files on Netflix...saw a scene with Shandling and Duchovny. Noticeable difference. Looked like 3-4". Couldn't see the footwear but assuming parity I'd peg Shandling at 174.

Listed heighth is right on the money. Incidentally, the Larry Sanders show is a great place to gage heights since their are so many shots of celeberities standing on equal ground (i.e., the floor) in the backstage scene's.

He's about 5'9 tops.

I met him a few times many years ago-- I'm 6ft/1m83 and he's almost as tall. He may have lost a half-inch along the way.

Sounds right, he always seemed about two inches shorter than "Hey Now" Hank Kingsley who is a little over 6 ft it appears.

He seems to be wearing built up shoes here?

Right on the money, give or take half an inch. I met and talked with Gary about his Porsche after he had parked it next to my car as I was arriving to work at Fox. Nice guy and very funny in person. He was just a little shorter than me.
