I saw a lot of his career. He did seem to suddenly lose height around 1999. I think he did have some pretty serious knee surgery at that time.
Could be age had also caught up with him.

Anyway I'd say Rob's estimate is actually pretty close.
I'm not sure about 6'6 though. I'd say he was 6'5.
Then dropped down to about 6'3 since about 1999. He had back straightening surgery a few years ago. I think all that did was help him maintain 6'3 despite more ageing.

Hogan was and still is indeed massive, but i never interpreted him as 'tall' per say and i always that he was quite a bit inflated and shorter than advertised. I would actually say that in his interview where he claims 6 foot 4 1/2 current and 6 foot seven prime was surprisingly modest, respectable, and fair at least to me personally. After all, Hogan has a huge ego and I figured A height inflation to match. I think he was off by about an inch or so give or take on both his prime and current heighr claims respectively. I would say prime he was more like 6 foot six give or take and current he is more like 6 foot 3 1/2 give or take. But I have an idea as to how he might've gotten 6 foot seven from his aunt's measurement. When I was at my gym Wednesday, I have a friend who is about 6 foot five give or take half an inch and I am myself am about 6-8 1/4 precisely but I tend to round down to 6-7 so deter fallacious ppl. Me and my friend measured ourselves and I was very surprised to get 6 foot 10 1/2 In Adidas flip-flops and my friend got 6 foot 7 1/2 from what I figured was a compressed height bc we were working out for a while. There were many thoughts running through my mind at that moment, like, did I grow, is the measuring tape off, etc. but what i found was that flip-flops and sneakers actually make it seem that your 1 1/2 inches taller than you actually are, and also that my HAIR created the illusion that i had another half inch or so. So I was thinking of that could be an explanation as to how Hogan got a 6-7

Similar to Charles Barkley his head was pointed that's what she gave him the height he actually had Charles comes to a point. Look at Hogan from the 90s when he lost his hair you can see the point of his head in the back.

hulk hogan was never more than 6'4 in his prime my dad (who was 6'6) actually thought he looked 6 '3.5 in the 80s,,, i didnt get to meet him till 1998 and by that time i was already taller so my guess for hulk is 6'4.25 in the 70s and 6'4 in the 80s and down to 6'3 by the 90s

Yet he was slightly taller than my 6'4" Grandfather in 1980. Hard for me to put him under 6'5" peak. If he was it wasn't by much.

HOGAN no more then 6'3
Big Show just 6'10 but looking shorter
Kevin Nash was just 6'8
Kane 6'6
Taker just under 6'6
HHH just 6'1
Bret Hart just under 6 foot
HBK 5'10
Flair 5'9
Daniel Bryan 5'6 and a half
AJ Styles 5'8
Angle 5'9
Orton 6'3
Edge 6'2
Dolph Z 5'10
Drew Mc 6'4
Braun Strowman 6'5 and a half

Rob, ALL PRO WRESTLERS have height loss due to curved spines and many HEIGHT REDUCING surgeries from pro wrestling. You need to take this into account and increase all pro wrestlers peak height accordingly.
Here is Chris Masters XRAY and comments about wrestling for example. Hulk Hogan's Spine was curved muck more than this.

Quite a high percentage have a peak/current. Some might lose more than others, due to greater impacts, or more damaging moves.

If footwear equal?
A 6’3” Ventura gives you a 6’5-1/4 Hulk Hogan. Rob has Ventura @ 6’3-1/2” peak....Ventura claims 6’4” peak himself. I personally had heard once that Ventura was 6’2-3/4 barefoot & 6’4” w/footwear. So, we’ve got him anywhere from 6’2-3/4” to 6’4” peak height? IMO, he was closer to 6’2-3/4” to 6’3” true barefoot height, than the 6’4” claims. He also lived his cowboy boots & huge soles styled footwear.

There are always going to be the few that believe the billed heights. And there are always going to be the down graders. Nowhere in the 80's did Hogan look less than 6'4.5" or taller than 6'5.5". My opinion anyways.

Do you mean Skechers logger boots with a 1.75" heel or that add 1.75" in height? The reason I ask is because I've seen Skechers Cascades advertise anywhere from a 1.7"-2" heel and 0.5" midsole. Most cowboy boots have a heel around 1.75", but only roughly 0.4" at the front so those will give about 1.6" actual height. Cowboy boots with a full 2" heel use to be common in the 70's and 80's and you still see some custom/designer pairs, but those should give 1.7"-1.8" range actual height.

Looks spot to me @ Gold’s Gym photo!
Hogan: 6’4”
Paul Wight: 6’11.75” to 7’0”
Steve Austin: 6’1”
Davey Boy Smith: 5’11” to 5’11.25”
Billy Gunn: 6’4”
Randy Savage: 6’0”
Ric Flair: 5’11”
Note: Hulk Hogan has the thinnest footwear of anyone in that photo...so, we could even argue 6’4.25” for Hogan, based on if Gunn is a legit 6’4” (which Rob has confirmed) and those Otomix trainers back in the 1990’s only raised your height 0.7”...which is what appears Hogan has on. I’ve seen this pic many times. There is also a fuller version that fully shows everyone’s footwear clearly. Hogan & Stone Cold are also both losing about 0.25” due to a slight slouching posture & bent left knees. That’s why I’m giving Stone Cold a legit 6’1”...no doubt! And that being said...hard to argue Big Show not being exactly 7’0” there! Unless those sneakers of his have 2” soles! LOL! And the thickest sneaker sole I’ve ever scene or wore was only 1.375”...buy, I also don’t wear size 18’s either 🤣🤣

Sotiris,
In that pic Hogan IMO looks 2.5” taller than Duggan? Peak Duggan 6’2.5” = a 6’5” Hulk Hogan??? BTW...you’re spot on with Fred Ottman..he’s one of the dozen or so wrestlers that I have met face to face in person...he was 6’3-1/2” ...you could argue 6’3”...he looked 6’3-1/2” to me though. Massive man too! Also, Randy Savage ...I met & Shaked hands with the man in 1997. He looked 6’0” to 6’0-1/4” to me...he was in cowboy boots though. However, I myself was wearing 1.75” Skechers logger boots...so, he “should” have had only a 1/4” footwear advantage on me. That being said, the absolute lowest I’d go on him in 1997 was 5’11-3/4”...or!...like I told Danimal, “unless he also had a lift insert in those boots” ?? However, the boots did not look abnormal ...so, I highly doubt it. Final hypothesis on 1997 Randy Savage: anywhere between 5’11.75” to 6’0.25”...!

i think hogan`s true peak height was around 6'6",the storyline with hillbilly jim he actually acted like a fan for like 6 months before finally getting involved when I think Studd and bundy where kicking Hulk`s ass on championchip wrestling on saturday morning.later you see them training together and HULK LOOKS A SOLID INCH TALLER THAN jIM,now many people have Jim listed at 6'5.5" not sure about this and did not have time to check the year on this.but to me hogan was tallest in 1978 so a little over 6'6" is not out of the question.now I know what will happen is someone will post a pic of him next to troy aikman and say look he is not even 6'4" but anyone who has followed Terries career over 40 years knows he has lost significant height.

This is a rare picture from 97/98 (based on Stone Cold's reply to a user's question): Click Here

It was taken at Gold's Gym in Venice Beach, CA. This was Austin's email:

"that pic was at golds gym in venice, ca. both companies were working in the LA area. prolly around 1997-8 i guess."

If you take Billy Gunn's height as reference (6'4") and consider equal footware & ground, here are the heights of the others imo:(circa 97/98)

Hulk Hogan : 6'4"
Stone Cold : 6'0"-6'1"
British Bull Dog : 5'11"-6'0"
Ric Flair : 5'11"
Randy Savage : 6'0"
Big Show : 6'11"-7'0"

I’m estimating Hogan being 2.5” taller than Beefcake by factoring in Hogan’s bent knees & Beefcake’s 0.5” inch flip flops. And guessing Hogan being 4.5” taller than Savage based also on Hogan’s bent knees & Savage seeming to have a slight advantage in camera depth & Angle.
RP said on 10/Sep/18
***correction on the photo Hogan tweeted!
Hogan, Savage & Big Show are barefooted. Beefcake is wearing 0.5” to 0.625” thick black flip flops & Blair has on 1” to 1.25” black sneakers. I have the pic...need instructions to post?? Or just go google Hulk Hogan’s tweets.

Hulk Hogan just tweeted an old mid-1990’s photo of him, Randy Savage, Big Show, Brutus Beefcake & Brian Blair. All men are barefoot in swimming trunks & underwear...standing in front of a monster truck...LOL! A great photo for gauging Big Show’s true barefoot height at his peak (1995-1996) time frame. Hogan was flexing & bending his knees a bit. He still looked 2.5” taller than Beefcake & 4.5” to 5” taller than Savage. Brian Blair was said to have been either 5’10” or 5’11”...which means probably go with the 5’10” listing. Also once saw a 6’0” listing for Blair when he was a member of the Killer Bees...which was WWF BS! I’m pretty sure his true height was 5’10”....Savage looks 5’11.5” to 6’0” in this photo...based on Blair 5’10” & Beefcake 6’2”...IMO

Yes, though Mamun did say he only saw Sly briefly. I agree Frank2 was good overall, but so is Mr. R and he said Sly was close to 5'9" when he saw him years ago in NY. Obviously you could argue that's footwear, but even some aware of footwear put Sly closer to 5'9" like 5'6" Kevin Conway from Paradise Alley and F.I.S.T. Same thing with First Blood author David Morrell, who told me that Sly struck him as being 5'9.5" like he was back in the 80's, but that the "sturdy Rambo boots" made him taller. I believe Brigitte Nielsen has a good perception of height since her 5'9"-5'9.5" for Eddie Murphy seems spot on to me. She may have even been privy to Sly's barefoot height since they had to coordinate their heights for films and public appearances. I see no reason for her to lie for him 20 years after they divorced since when she did lie for him while they married, she use to claim he was 5'10"-5'10.5". As you said on Dolph's page, nobody is going to be right 100% of the time. My main point was that Sly looked well over 5'7" in the photos of Sotiris posted with Weathers. Sly's height will probably be debated long after we're all gone. Hulk Hogan's probably will too.

With all that said, I don't know why Henry is arguing Hulk was over 6'8" when Hulk himself only claims to have measured 6'7" in his prime. Has he ever said whether that was barefoot or in footwear? Trying to argue Hulk must be a certain height because of how tall he looks on a box is a new one. The point of the box is to make Hulk look the height they want him to in the film.

Rising - 174 cm said on 6/Sep/18
@Sotiris: Fair enough, but I think the best source you'll get is Sly's ex-wife Brigitte Nielsen who has said 174-175 cm on Celebrity Big Brother and has apparently said 5'9" on other occasions saying she would know as she's married to him. Certainly she saw him barefoot on more than one occasion. The source you're referring to is the screenwriter William Goldman, whom I think was influenced by confirmation bias. But it's largely irrelevant to figuring out Hulk's height as there's no way to tell the difference from Rocky 3 with the angles, the box etc.

The height difference between the bottom of my nose and the top of my head is exactly 6 1/2". Hogan has a gigantic head and the height difference between the bottom of his nose and the top of his head must be at least 8".
Peak Beltzer comes up below Hogan's nose even though Belzer had a footwear advantage, was standing straight as an arrow almost on his tip toes while Hogan had a relaxed Posture and wider stance.

@Sotiris: Wrong. Look at this: Click Here The first is a comparison another poster made of Sly and Carl that night with Rob and Carl and the second is the photo you posted with a line from Sly's head. It's difficult to tell exactly where Sly's head ends due to the hair transplant(?) but I was pretty conservative. Sly looks slightly taller than Rob did and about 5'8.5" with Carl. And he's 70 so he's likely a bit shorter than he was in 1982. And 6'0.5" was still the minimum Rob thought Carl was. What kind of shoes do you think Sly was wearing in that '03 pic that would make a 5'7" man look like a 5'11" man? Would you concede they were probably similar to what he wore when he looked similarly tall with Letterman 2 weeks earlier? Click Here Here's Sly wearing different colors of the same shoe in '04 and '08: Click Here Note the H logo on the side. Those shoes are ironically a brand called Hogan. Here's a similar black pair to the ones he's wearing in the Matt Lauer interview: Click Here Here's a tan/beige pair close to the ones he has at the Laker game: Click Here and here's a brown pair similar to what he wore on Letterman: Click Here Those sneakers have a 3.5 cm insole and a 2 cm removable insole, and while Sly may very well be supplementing that with an even bigger lift, the shoes are too low cut to give him any more than 6-7 cm range without falling out of them. So Sly was not walking around in these complex 5" elevators. In fact, he was often wearing elevator sneakers that you or I could order online for a around $300. To remove any doubt those are shoes Sly often wears, here's a pair he autographed: Click Here

@ Henry...yes there are photos out there that showed the close up stare down pre-match scene. Hogan is standing on a small wooden platform. It looked approximately 4” thick. They wanted Hogan to appear 6’11” in that scene vs the 5’11” Rocky Balboa character. Side Note: Rocky Balboa (the character) was 5’11” & 202 lbs
Sly Stallone was 5’9” to 5’9.5” & 185-187 lbs for Rocky III. Thunderlips (The Character) was 6’11” & 390 lbs. Hulk Hogan was 6’5.5” to 6’5.75” & 305-310 lbs for Rocky III filming. Thunderlips had to appear a whole one foot taller than Balboa for the pre match introduction staredown. Hence the need for a 4” inch wooden platform for Hogan to stand on for that one single scene. That’s why Stallone came up to Hogan’s bottom lip in all other scenes. And in the staredown scene came up to his clavical. I promise, there are photos of this out there. I’ve personally scene them multiple times through the years.

Yeah, there's a photo of Hogan standing on a box for Rocky 3. His character Thunderlips was announced "almost 7 feet tall" so obviously they'd make Hogan look taller. I doubt Sly was less than the 5'8.5"-5'9" his ex-wife said he was, but even if we said he was for arguments sake, he's known to wear lifts himself so he's often going to look much taller than he is. Hogan as Thunderlips was supposed to be a giant the same way Rocky was supposed to be a heavyweight, even though Stallone really would have been a super middleweight at that time since he slimmed down to 163 for Rocky 3 and would have only been light heavyweight to cruiserweight in Rocky 1, 2 and 4. 6'5.5" still seems good for Hulk's peak overall, imo.

I very carefully measured the height at the bottom of my nose to the top of my head multiple times. It was 6 1/2". Hulk Hogan has a gigantic head and the top of Belzer's head comes up below his nose. Beltzer also had much better posture and a footwear advantage.

@Viper. Were is this list you keep referring to? Luger wasn't under 6'2". Looks like every old pre wrestling football article has him listed at 6'3" and between 250 and 270 lbs. Unless he was wearing lifts in the NWA he was only about a half inch shorter than me. I was 6'3 1/4" back then.

RoelC,
There once was an article in reference to Lexx getting a shot for the Green Bay Packers ... he was not cutting it on the offense of line, so they moved him to the defense of line. It was ultimately rekeased. This was a pro wrestling illustrated article from when I was in high school, 1991-1994... so no telling of its accuracy ... we all know how the wrestling magazines used to spin things.

Luger suffered a spinal stroke just over a decade ago which left him in a quadriplegic state for a while. He did recover the ability to walk but he is in pretty bad shape these past few years.

As for peak, Luger edged Sting if you watch the in-ring videos. RP is convinced Luger was 6'2.5..can't really argue as I never met him or even saw Luger perform in person.

The photos of Luger in the white shirt and Hogan is from first episode of Nitro in September 95 with Luger in cowboy boots so footwear advantage. The NWO Hogan is 1997 so he wouldn't have been peak then like I outlined on 18 August

He was an offensive guard for the Green Bay Packers Click Here
He was an offensive guard for the Tampa Bay Bandits Click Here (see no. 72)

He was never a defense player. In fact, when Pennsylvania State University wanted to try him out as a DE he left the team and transfered to the University of Miami.

By the way here's that picture of Lex Luger & Michael Jordan on the golf course. Michael Jordan is easily an inch taller and is standing further behind and has looser posture than Luger.

@Vegas: he also said in the quote Rob posted that he’s “about 6’4”. This may be what Viper is referring to as he also mentioned he was 6’7” before. 6’4.5 is also “about 6’4”. You also have to remember it’s possible he measured earlier in the day if he reached “”6’7” and later when he reached “6’4”. My opinion is what you said however. 6’5-6’5.5 barefoot peak 6’3 today (roughly).

I think Arnold has lost 2", maybe 2.5" tops, but viper is right that it varies greatly from person to person. I've seen this among family myself and the funny thing is my father is slightly younger at 66 and he was right around 6'0.25" himself, but is now only about 5'11". Yet my 76 year old uncle has been close to my height for years. He's still around 5'8".

@Vegas: Great post. I thought most of the height loss was around that late 90's period, but makes sense he had lost some before and a little since, though surprisingly little.

@Canson: I think he did measure that in footwear. He doesn't mention anything about removing footwear when his mother measured him. My estimate was the exact same, but after seeing the Belzer video again, I lean more to 6'5.5" than 6'5", but agreed on around 6'3" today.

Keep in mind, guys like 5’11” Davey Boy Smith would often wear lifts in their wrestling boots...and Bill in sneakers still edges him out. Mike Rotunda I met in 2010 and he looked 6'1 range at that point.

We have been debating Hogan's height on here for a decade and I don't think we are any closer to solving the mystery. Wrestling in Japan in early 80s Hogan looked similar height to Seiji Sakaguchi who was listed 195cm in judo in the 1960s so I think 6'5 peak is fine.

But that's where the fun starts. Danimal (biggest Hogan fan on here) claims Hogan had surgery post WM6 which is where he lost height. I can't find evidence of that and he was filming Suburban Commando during those months away. When he returned in July /August 1990 he still looked 6'5 (6'6.5+ in cowboy boots) with Vince. Come summer 1991-early 1992 he started to look under 6'5 with Sid Eudy, kept that height in early years of WCW run where he looked a little over 6'4 with Vader, Luger. By 1997 he started looking shorter again with Brian Adams, Rodman and as mentioned with Carl Weathers on set. At Halloween Havoc 99 he barely looks taller than Sting who most view as 6'2 peak. Now I know he did have major knee reconstruction surgery in the late 1990s which explain height loss or inability to stand straight by that point. 2002 he looks similar height to Rock and since 2002 he has had all kinds of surgeries but doesn't necessarily look all that much shorter than he did back then despite it. As mentioned my friend (6'4) met Hogan in his shop during Wrestlemania weekend last year. We were outside because you had to pay $150-200 to meet him for 30 seconds and I wasn't a childhood mega-fan like my friend. But Hogan looked at worst weak 6'3 with my friend but still noticeably shorter..then again he was leaving and coming back suggesting he was resting so he could have been closer to 6'2.5.

They have a couple of statues in the store (one in nwo gear and the other in classic 80s yellow) that the shop assistants told us were lifesize and that he had gone from 6'7 to 6'4. Personally not convinced they are lifesize given how tall they are but Viper or Sotiris (or indeed any tall poster here like Canson, Christian, JT) if you are ever down in Orlando you guys should visit his store on i-drive and take photos next to the statues. Its free to enter store if Hogan isn't doing a meet and greet.
Gregs1981 said on 18/Aug/18
Hulk looked to be a solid 6'6-6'6.5 at his peak. He looked around same height as Scott Hall in his NWO days when he was probably not quite at his peak height. Hulk's mass tended to make him look shorter than he actually was. Hogan has always looked a good bit taller than Lex Luger who was around 6'4.5. I remember a photo of Luger next to Michael Jordan on a golf course it was cover of WWF magazine and Luger was nearly as tall as Jordan. Hulk looked to be at least 2 inches taller than Luger.
Canson said on 17/Aug/18

I see now that Andre was probably 6'11" in his peak and perhaps 6'10" in his later years. Perhaps a 12-inch-head means that Andre really was 7-feet-tall peak height as listed on CelebHeights. I now see Hogan as 6'4" peak height, but perhaps he was 6'5" as ppl suggest. I'll have to look again and see... I do think that Big Show's peak was 6'9" and is now 6'8.5" (with WWE heels 6'10.5)... as compared to 6'11" The Great Khali (7 feet tall in heels), but maybe Khali also has a 12-inch-long head and is 7 feet tall barefoot, making Big Show 6'9.5"... Because he has. He's telling the truth there.
---------------

He claimed that Elvis sat ringside for his matches in Memphis even though Elvis had been dead by the time Hogan debuted in Memphis. He said Andre weighed 700lb at Wrestlemania 3, claimed Lars Ulrich wanted him to play bass in Metallica and he broke his ribs with the Rock Bottom at Mania 18..so he isn't exactly most truthful individual.

In saying that I have seen him twice in recent years. In TNA in 2012 he had a hard time getting into the ring for a promo segment. Last year in Orlando during a signing session at his store he had to take frequent breaks just from standing up and taking photos with fans.

There's a much better chance of Hulk at 6'3" currently than 6'3" peak. The myriad of surgeries he had around the late 90's are the primary cause of his significant height loss. It's no great secret that height differences are minimized in closeups to make it easier to frame the shot. As for Belzer, I'd think he's still comfortably over 5'11" when he stands decently and he looked taller than 6'0" to me through most of his runs on Law & Order and Homicide considering all of his co-stars who Rob has around the 6'0" mark. 6'1" looks unlikely with Hogan, but I'd think more 6'0.5" all things considered.

@Canson Hogan was born in 1953. That makes him 20 years old in 1973 and only 30 years old in 1983... and 40 years old by 1993. (He became a wrestler at the age of 24.) You suggested that Hogan was 6'5" but then lost it starting in the '90s. Here's a 6'3" Hogan in bigger footwear from the movie "Suburban Commando" (1991) next to 6'0" (NOT 6'1") Christopher Lloyd... Here's a 6'3" Hogan at the age of 44 (when ppl START to lose height) next to 6'1" Carl Weathers from the TV movie "Assault on Devil's Island" (1997)...
Click Here Even w/ the wear and tear of wrestling, losing 2" by the age of 40 seems very unlikely. Hogan is 6'2" now, NOT 6'3", (same height as The Rock) as can be seen next to Brock Lesnar who's maybe 6'1.5" now, or the other pics I've previously posted of Hogan next to 6'4" men. Your posts are entertaining, though, I'll give you that... You'll undoubtedly go to your grave entrenched in your kayfabe beliefs a very content man.

Let's be honest, it doesn't really matter how tall any of these wrestlers really were. Knowing their genuine measurements is of no great import, not really, but I made a game of it, and it was fun. Trying to convince someone that 2 + 1 doesn't equal 5 becomes less fun, all too quickly, I'm afraid. Again... agree to disagree.

Always remember, Hogan did more than just lie about the size of his manhood. "

Even Viper of all people is calling you out on your low estimates. And Viper has a reputation of being a "downgrader" on this site (not that I'm calling him one myself). I think you mean well and you're a good poster, and don't listen to haters like Joey700, but some of your estimates are rather poor. I can't roll with Andre being 6'9" peak or Hogan 6'3" peak. There are other estimates that I agree with you on though.

Also, let’s not forget how Hogan towered over 6’2.5” Ali @ Wrestlemania in 1985...always had 3+ inches on Ali in 1985. At the match & all the promo events & photo shoots.

@Vegas' "Brother," even if Hulk Hogan whispered into your ear that he was only 6'3"... you'd still go to your grave believing he was 6'5". Lewis' peak height was NEVER more than 5'10". He still looks 5'10" here (at the age of 61) thanks to a footwear advantage. Hogan has about 5" on him. That leaves us w/ 6'3". I know, I know, you don't accept that... it's okay... Also, Lewis is slouching throughout this whole video clip. Not once does he ever stand up straight w/ his shoulders back; not once. At least you don't believe he was 6'8" like 90% of the population.

Big Van Vader (R.I.P.) was billed as 6'5", but he was NEVER that height; he was around 6'2.5". That being said, that means next to Vader puts Hogan at 6'3", the height I ALWAYS said he was:

Belzer was 6’0” Barefoot in his prime. Never 6’1” (only with his is shoes) but, you trying to pass him off as 5’10” ?? Cmon! Go watch the years of Law & Order, SUV, countless movies from the 1985-2015! And you’ll see that without a doubt he was a legit 6 footer! Now that he’s an old man, he is more like 5’11” at best. But...he held on to 6’0” up until at least 2005. Just one quick example ...was always at least one inch taller than a legit 5’11” Ice-T...sometimes looked even more than one inch taller. I can respect most of your estimates. However, your peak 6’3” Hulk Hogan is simply wrong, Mate! Peak 6’9” Andre is also a little extreme. IMO...his peak was never below 6’11”...was he closer to 6’9” by the end of his life? Say, 1991-1993?? Possibly? I won’t argue that. But, peak...I’m going 6’11” + plus...in my opinion 7’0” also very possible.
Canson said on 12/Aug/18
@Viper and Sotiris: a peak Hogan was every bit of a full 6’5”. But we are talking in the 70s and 80s. He lost height prob early 90s

Beltzer didn't look 6'1 with Glenn I seem to remember. Was Beltzer 3 inches taller than Mr T?

That Belzer video is crazy. I've only guessed Hogan's peak at 6'5.5" and he can look just around 6'5" to me with Tiny Lister and Andre, but he looks at least 6'6" if Belzer was anywhere near 6'1". I had forgotten about that until Danimal's post, but I remember noticing the difference years ago and assuming it was footwear, but since he doesn't have a footwear advantage, I don't see how he could have been under 6'5.5" back then.

@viper Most def, my man, most def. :) In all seriousness, "hate" is a very strong word. I don't hate Trump, per se , but I do loathe everything he stands for, everything he does. Nor do I hold any ill will towards supporters (provided they're decent ppl, of course) who've fallen under his spell. I'd be curious to know if Agent Orange is a Trump supporter, given his username. Kidding.

I see ppl still talking about Richard Belzer and Hogan, which I can understand. That said, I'd really like to hear ppl's thoughts on the pics of Andre next to 4'11" Bill Shoemaker, as compared to 7'2" Kareem and Shoemaker. Andre's in his cowboys which makes him no more than 6'9" evening height in comparison to Kareem. That would mean Hogan is around 6'3", IMHO. Check it out, let me know...

Danimal is right on the Belzer 1985 video! Hogan made a 6’0” man...6’1” in shoes look like a kid! A 6’3” man does not make a legit 6’0” barefoot man look like a child. 1985 Hogan was 6’5.5” to 6’5.75”...I’ll go to my grave believing that. Hogan had zero footwear advantage vs Belzer as well.

@RP Yeah, I just finished looking into Douglas. Here's my take. In the fight w/ Mike Tyson, Tyson was never 5'11.5" as listed -- he was 5'10' peak height... and Buster Douglas was in NO way EVER 6'4". Here's where we disagree. I saw the Evander Holyfield fight where Holfield is touted as 6'2". Nonsense. He was 6-foot-1 peak height and that means that Douglas was a max 6'2.5 next to him, not even 6'3". I saw Douglas where he's holding up Hogan's arm in victory and Hogan looks around 2 inches taller at the outer edge of the ring.. This region of the ring is slightly higher than the center... when we see them both head back to the center of the ring, there's only a 1-inch difference in height, maybe 1.5"; and you yourself say perhaps Hogan had a 0.5" footwear advantage... Don't believe me? Look again. The absolute most I'm willing to give Hogan is 6-foot-3.5 peak height. And no, that in no way makes me a "troll," just perceptive. I know, the irony of that comment coming from a guy who always thought he was 1 inch shorter is not lost on me. Anyways, that's my 2 cents. I know ppl who think Hogan was at least 6-foot-5 , if not more, peak height will go to their graves believing that. The only way Hogan was ever 6'5" IMHO was in cowboy boots with a heel that comes close to 2". And I'll just remind you that Andre's cowboy boots were custom-made for him. There are photos online which prove he had boots w/ a heel that DID go up to 3 inches. Not to say he didn't wear ones that were 2.5" or even 2", which he did.

P.S. I don't think Hogan was wearing lifts in that match. Also, comparing Hogan of today to Brock Lesnar--who's a weak 6'2" now at best--proves that Hogan is not 6'3" anymore. He IS around 6-foot-2. I REALLY believe that. Hogan was 6'3" max next to 6'1" peak height Carl Weathers back in 1997 when they did that TV movie, "Assault on Devil's Island" (1997), seven years after that match w/ Buster Douglas. At 70 years of age, Weathers is now about 6'0.5" and hogan is now around 6'2.25", max. Do I think ppl will believe me...? No. Will they call me a troll? Probably. Does it hurt my feelings? Kinda. Anyways, I just wanted to air my views on this site a little, and get this stuff off my chest. After I stop posting here eventually, ppl will have long forgotten the crazy claims I once made... and all will be right w/ the world. Take care, dude.

@RP "Whole Cogan"... :)... No worries, dude. I'll look into Douglas at another time, I promise, but I beg you to check out Andre the Giant (in cowboy boots) next to 4'11" Bill Shoemaker, and compare that w/ Kareem Abdul-Jabbar next to Shoemaker. Look and compare. There's NO way based off of these smoking gun pics that Andre was ever more than 6-foot-9 barefoot evening height (the same height 6'5" Chuck Wepner claimed was Andre's height). That translates to Hogan being around 6-foot-3. I know it's hard to believe, but just go and look. Just for fun, look at the end of "Suburban Commando" where Hogan in bigger footwear shakes hands w/ Christopher Lloyd, who was 6'0" (MAX), not 6'1" (currently only 5'10"). Hogan is around 6-foot-3 there. Don't believe me..? Please, just go look. I appreciate your dedication to CelebHeights... You'd make a good detective. As always, agree to disagree, dude. I hold no animosity towards you or anyone else. And seriously, guys... I'm no troll. Enough w/ that nonsense. If ppl would rather I just stop posting here, I will. I don't need more aggravation in my life... Believe it or not, I'm now Twitter pals w/ a gentleman who's an ardent Trump supporter, while I am... not... all b/c we both see eye-to-eye on real wrestling heights, as opposed to kayfabe... If all ppl agreed on wrestling heights, there would be no more war in this world. I still respect your views on height, dude, even though they tend to differ from my own. God bless.

They end up looking like Cee Lo Green w/ respect to short limbs. Also, when a short person (w/ lifts) sits down w/ someone, they can't hide their short torso. I noticed that Bobcat Goldthwait will almost always sit on one of his legs when doing talk show interviews... Perhaps it's for comfort or perhaps it's to use his one leg to bolster his height in a chair... Hmmm... Irrespective of Cee Lo Green, one thing's for certain... SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE! @Canson and @RP In all honesty, I ALWAYS thought I was 6'6"(MAX)based off of what I was back at the end of high school, (something I already stated on CelebHeights, and never really paid much attention to my height after that.) I never even knew about "morning height" until I found this site. If I get a full 8 hours of sleep, I'm SHOCKED to see that I can reach 6'7.75" and can dip down to 6'6.75" by midnight. If I end up not getting enough sleep (4 hrs, etc), I can wake up to 6'7.5" or even less. Is it possible for me to even dip down to 6'6.5" at midnight if I'm on my feet the whole day, given my weight (currently 265 lbs/have maxed out at 305 lbs in the past)...? Anything is possible now that I'm 46 years of age. One thing's for certain, I'm definitely around 6'7" (not 6'6" as previously believed) throughout the day. I'm not here as a "troll." I don't even really know what that implies... That I'm lying about everything...? I'll be honest, I don't really measure myself on any kind of regular basis, or even care to. I'm more intrigued about trying to figure out how tall Andre the Giant was. I actually tried posting some pics here of myself a short while ago rather than have ppl go on my Twitter feed. I don't know if I did it right or even if Rob will allow them on this site, considering I'm not a celebrity. Oh, well. (I actually don't like posting pics of myself on social media that can later be misused by ppl. I don't wanna see my picture in an ad for erectile dysfunction or something. I am getting up there in years now...)

Andre: 6’10-1/2”

In the 1988 Trump photo, Hogan was in cowboy boots & Andre was wearing a black orthopedic casual dress shoe. Peak Trump was 6’2”...not 6’3”. Even his NJ DL’s list him @ 6’2”...6’3” is Donald’s peak height in shoes. President Trump is now 6’0-1/2”-ish barefoot. 6’1-1/2”-ish in dress shoes. Andre looks 6’10-1/2” to 6’11” there to me. Hulkster looks 6’5” to hair over 6’5” ...when you factor in the 0.75” inch footwear advantage over Trump.

I don't buy any bad posture excuse. Hogan is now 6-foot-2. Rather than say "deal w/ it" and piss ppl off, I'll simply say a picture is worth a thousand words... Hogan might have been a legit 6'3" back in 2010 when he did that TV commercial w/ 6'3.5" Troy Aikman, but no longer... NO way.

@miko Check out the Lesnar/Hogan staredown from Hulk's B-day bash back in 2014 (devoid of any bash on the head). They're basically the same height, and BTW, Lesnar's now a weak 6'2" as we speak...

Hogan's current height is closer to 6-foot-2 these days, the same height as Brock Lesnar. EVERYBODY and their mother talks about that photo w/ Christopher Lloyd from the movie "Suburban Commando" (1991). Allow me to set the record straight, devoid of any spinal curvature. First of all, Lloyd's peak height was 6 feet tall, NOT 6'1". He was the same height as Andy Kaufman from the show "Taxi." In that infamous photo, Hulk is standing straight and Lloyd is leaning forward and to the side as he's walking. Irrespective of this, the "smoking gun" is at the end of this movie where they shake hands at 1:23:24, making it look like a WWE staredown, albeit a friendly one. Hogan -- w/ alien footwear advantage -- is CLEARLY, UNEQUIVOCALLY 6-foot-3 next to 6 feet tall Lloyd. As Sean Spicer would say, "PERIOD." END OF DISCUSSION. I mean it. No foolin'. Don't make me come after anyone; just kidding. P.S. Lloyd's current height is 5-foot-10. Needs a downgrade. I welcome any counterarguments. Sorry, but I don't know how to post pics here. Any 4-1-1 on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Before I go, I just wanna say that not everyone loses tons of height in their twilight years. Hogan was 6'3" while Carl Weathers was 6'1" in the TV movie "Assault on Devil's Island" (1997) and Weathers is still 6'0.5" at age 70.

Hogan was taller than Lesnar despite standing nowhere near straight. Add to the fact Lesnar was on his tiptoe on one foot too.

Barefoot Hogan would have an easy inch on Lesnar and likely more. Hogan at 6'2 would put Lesnar under 6'1 which is insane.

Agree with Canson peak was strong 6'5 no more. The 6'8 is laughable really. Maybe he can stretch out to 6'3 today if he sorts his posture but the way he carries himself he looks barely 6'2.
Canson said on 21/Jul/18
@62B: yea 6’5” range but not a full 6’6”. My guess would really be that he’s closer to 6’5” than 6’6” but 6’5 and change is possible (196 cm range)
Canson said on 21/Jul/18
Hogan was never a full 6’6”. Maybe out of bed in his peak but he was at least a legit to strong 6’5” in his peak. Perhaps he was close to 6’5.5 tops but really anywhere 6’5-6’5.5 at a low in his peak fit him
RONSTER said on 20/Jul/18
Wat, where do you get your misinformation from?? Undertaker was over 6’8” barefoot and billed as 6’10”, Hogan was listed at 6’8” to 6’9” by the WWF until 1993, he was really over 6’6” still barefoot then. You should know what you are talking about before posting like that.

Height @ 12:00pm: 5’11-1/8”
Height @ 15:00pm: 5’11”
Height @ 20:00pm: 5’10-7/8”
Height @ 22:00pm : 5’10-7/8”
Age: 42
Body weight: 217 lbs ...very muscular athletic frame & build.

@Allan32080: that’s remarkable! I lose half inch within 2-3 hours and am down to my normal low or within a couple mm around 12 or 1 in the afternoon if I wake up at 5 am.
Allan32080 said on 13/Jul/18
@Canson yes I do get down to that evening. Late evening. I hold my height pretty well through the day tho. He most definitely was taller than me. Noticeably taller. By a minimum of 1/2” more like 3/4” to 1”. I don’t see him over 6’3.5” now. But over a year ago he seemed every bit of 6’4”. A inch taller than me and a inch shorter than my team member who is 6’5 1/8”. He was in flops we were trainers.
Canson said on 10/Jul/18
@Allan32080: you said you get down to 6’2.75 at night? I actually could buy 6’3.25 for Hulk at a pinch if he’s taller than you. His posture is bad as well in lots of pics.

Zeus aka Tom Lister JR wore two different styles of boots during his WWF career. During filming of No Holds Barred & his first few months of actually WWF Wrestiing events...matches, promos, random surprise ringside visits...etc, he wore huge super thick heeled Black Logger boots. Those boots had what appeared to be a 2.5" heel on them. A few months into wrestling he later switched to a more modest heel for more mobility in the ring. Those boots only had about a 1.5" to 1.625" heel on them. Hogan's yellow boots in the 1980's were 1.25" ...
Canson said on 9/Jun/18
@Ronster: I never noticed Hogan not standing tall back then but today it is very noticeable. A lot of people guess him as low as 6’2” because he can give that impression off at times. With Lister, it’s tough to say. Lister was likely a legit 6’5” guy but it’s hard to tell if his boots gave him that much advantage over what Hogan wore because Hogan also wore thick footwear.
RONSTER said on 8/Jun/18
When I say moon boots, I mean the extra heel along with big lifts inside you can see on the heel of his boots. This in addition to the fact Lister is going up in his toes almost to still come out shorter than the man he says is the same height as him lol. Hogan was well over an inch taller at this point and that is in his late 30’s having already lost some height

I agree. Lister has a slight footwear advantage but not much in that photo. Every now and again you see a photo or video that makes Hogan appear to be maybe 6'6" peak, but most likely he was between 6'5" and 6'5.5" peak. Likely 6'4.5" by the mid 90's

Tom Tiny Lister was 6'5" barefoot ...or just a hair over. Was only 6'7" in boots. He has admitted this himself many times in multiple interviews. He once said that during the fiilming of No Holds Barred that he was 6'5" & 305-310 lbs...And Hulk was 6'5" & 300-305 lbs. and that he "Tom" stood 6'7" in the boots they gave home to wear. To make the Zeus character to look larger & more menacing! Same interview Lister called Andre The Giant 7'1" & 505lbs...and that Andre forced him to walk around him in a hallway once...not moving an inch. A bit of an intimidation tactic by Andre.
YL07 said on 27/May/18
From looking at interviews, let's be honest I think Hogan can come across as a over-optimistic pathological liar. So I think he might be BSing about him believing he is 6'5" again, but it's possible the doctors probably improperly measured him as well.
Darth Vader said on 27/May/18
Well, I would say that Hogan's peak height was 6'5 1/2" or 197cm because he was exactly one and a half inches shorter than Tiny Lister Jr, who stood 6'7" in his younger days.

@Dicksock: he could have been 6’5-6’6 or just 6’5 peak but doubt over maybe 197. The only reason I could give a solid 6’5 is because the announcer that claimed 6’6 may not have been solid 6’6”. There’s a chance he fell below the mark as could Hogan. But Hogan could’ve cleared or been a solid 6’6” out of bed and 6’5 at a low or 6’5.75/6’5 or 6’6/6’5.25. I think an absolute best case which to your credit as well as 62B and Alan32080 argued here is 6’6-6’6.5 and 6’5.5ish at a low, a weak 6’6”

******************************************************

Standing straight he´s up to Hogans eyeline - no chance for Hogan to have a 6" eyelevel.
It might look more but measuring would be another story
Alan32080 said on 23/Apr/18
@62B I think you are on point with your statement. 6’5.5” - 6’6” peak. Nothing more than a max 6’6” Hogan is realistic. I know guys on here say 6’7” but I just don’t see it. Here’s my take. I know the Undertakers wife. I have met him and hung out a few times at social gatherings. He’s around 6’7”. And he was taller than Hogan by 1.5” - 2”. So a peak 6’8” Taker is a 6’6” Hogan or a peak Taker at 6’7.5” still puts Hogan between 6’5.5” to 6’6”.

I just Googled actor Dennis Burkley. He played a heavy in many a70's TV show, and I'm sure many of you will recognize him if you look him up. He's definitely big, and listed as 6'3. A pic of him with Hogan from Suburban Commando had Hogan at least 3 inches or more taller, for what it's worth. Hogan appears to have work boots on. Neither man is standing straight, but I'd put Hogan at 4 inches taller than whatever Burkley was.
dicksock said on 22/Apr/18
Hogan does look about 6" taller than Belzer to me. Hogan was just as tall or taller next to Belzer than Andre ever was next to Hogan. That being said, it is entirely possible Belzer was 6' and not 6'1". Does anyone actually know how tall he was? Keep in mind that Tiny Lister said that both he and Hulk were 6'5" in 1988/1989. Obviously he is going to know if someone is his own height or taller than him. So when people say Hogan was 6'7-6'9", it's a joke. Even Hogan has claimed he was 6'7" at his tallest, so Richard Belzer's claim of 6'8"-6'9" holds no water. The 6'6" ring announcer from WM 2 also said Hogan was 6'5-6'6". So we have two guys that are 6'5"-6'6" who worked with Hogan in his prime that both said Hogan was 6'5"-6'6". Hmmm...seems like we have our answer. He was 6'5"-6'6" in his prime, 6'4" by the early 2000s, and 6'3"-6'4" now. Simple.
Canson said on 21/Apr/18

That video proves it again.
Alan32080 said on 21/Apr/18
@HeightcrazyRed6ft I watched the video and I see 6” no more no less. Beltzer might be 6’1” in shoes and Hogan might be 6’7” in shoes. I still say a peak 6’6” to 6’ 5.5” for Hogan. Nothing under 6’5.5” nothing over 6’6”.
Gracian said on 21/Apr/18
Rob, I think the peak height of Bruce Spence eventually overcame the peak height of Hulk Hogan and the peak height of David Prowse. Spence really needs a peak height of 6'6.25" and a current height of 6'5.5", and when it comes to Hogan, I think Hogan should get the current height upgrade to 6'3.25". Spence is lucky that he has not lost height so much in his life, like much did Hogan and Prowse lose... Rob, what do you think about this?

If you care to look instead of replying unintelligently you would see that the 6’1” Beltzer only comes up to Hogan’s mouth or less, Hogan has a giant head which is at least 10-11” which means he was 6-7” taller at least.

*********************************************************************************************

Yo Mr. Intelligence... you should´ve realized that I didn´t talk about the actual gap but only commented the statement... got it big brain???????

Hogan was no giant and he had no giant head. It´s been proven for years that his head was very close to 25% smaller than ~12.5" Andres giant head, so about 10" wich is very tall.

Here's my take. I know from personal experience that Hulk was between 6'5" and 6'6" in 1980. I know that despite all the inconclusive pictures Joey33 has met a recent Hulk and says he is at the very least his height of 6'2 1/4", and Alan32080 who has also met Hulk recently says he is taller than his 6'3". For arguments sake I am going to put a peak Hulk at 6'5 1/2" (which is what I believe). Even though he has lost significantly more height than the average person, I don't think he lost more than 2.5" For me it is realistic that Hulk is still 6'3" + or - a 1/4". With Hulks current posture with his bad knee's and hips I don't think we will ever be able to tell a good pic form a bad pic.

@Saturday that’s what everyone on here says. His height is so hard to pin point from photos. Like I said if I wouldn’t have met him I would think he would be shorter than me. (6’3”). I will say 6’3.5” as a all around the board guess taking into consideration all the other guys who post.
