PJ said on 12/Oct/07
On one of those VH1 shows a few years back, Hulk was talking about his height and Stallone's height. He said Sly was "5'9 or 5'10", and that he himself was "6'6", and he said it in a way that indicated he was stretching it. So I'd say Hulk at his peak wasn't quite 6'6, and isn't quite 6'4 now.

I think Hogan maximum peak height was 6"6 and a maximum height of 6"4 now (if he stood fully upright), therefore losing 2" of height. Morning height, I think Hogan could have we been close to 6"7 in the morning.
Kevin Durant said on 5/Oct/07
Alex, I also believe that Kurt Angle is a legit 5'10 and HBK is an inch taller than him in their staredown in Wrestlemania 21. By the way Lance Hoyt admitted he was a legit 6'7" in his myspace page, which will give you the idea that the Monster Abyss is a solid 6'5"-6'6".
Alex said on 4/Oct/07
Not sure if him and Angle are on level ground but he sure is taller than Kurt by around 2 inches.

Alex said on 4/Oct/07
Ashton I think is a legit 6'2. 6'1.5 at the lowest.
Edge I pet at 6'2.5 at least, maybe 6'3. Christian was always a few inches shorter, like 3-4 inches making Christian 5'11 yet he was billed at 5'10 but was then billed at 6'1 some years later.

What? Rob don't let Ron post anymore he's just trying to get attention with ridiculous claims. Andre with a 18" head, taller than Hogan by an entire head uhg, whatever.
Ron said on 26/Sep/07
Well folks, like almost everything else on here you are basing your estimates on pictures. In many photos Hogan, like Andre are leaning over or bending their knees slightly which if you don't know can easily take 3-4 inches off your height just try it yourself if you don't believe. I base my knowledge on factual evidence, I have stood next to both Hogan and Andre back in 1989 and at 5'8" I only came up to the bottom of Hulk's chest and Andre's belly. Andre also cleared Hogan by almost his entire head which if you remember was enormous and much larger than anyone else's. In Andre's later years he was for the most part unable to stand straight up. Finally, if you really take a look at the WM3 picture of the famous stare down you will notice that Hogan only comes up to Andre's mouth at best and andre's head was alone 18" from chin to top. Sorry guy's, I believe in some cases yes they have exagurrated heights and especially weights but with Andre and Hulk their was never any need to do so. Ron.

Vegas, those are probably the same dress shoes that Hogan wore when he towered over ~ 5'11" Stacey Keibler in heels. Regarding the 1986 video with Mr. T, Hogan's good at making sure he's standing a little closer to the camera to make him look taller and larger. Notice also how Hogan's almost always on the left side of the interviewer (right side of screen). I assume this is because his left biceps is larger than the right.

Joe, I never said Hogan was 230 for wrestle mania 9. At that particular time he was between 255-265 pounds. Upon having left the WWF in 1993, he lost even more size. there are articles on him from 1993, where he was promoting either Mr. Nanny, or Suburban Commando and they had hit at 6'6" and 260 pound actor.
Alex said on 23/Sep/07
Hogan was leaner at WM 9 but didnt look no way near as light as 230lbs. 260lbs maybe looking at him then.
Jason said on 23/Sep/07
Hogan said in his book he got down to 230 when he was doing Thunder In Paradise. He was heavier than 230 at Wrestlemania 9, though...
LV said on 23/Sep/07
I think Hogan was also very skinny near the time of his boating accident when he broke his face (I'm not sure what year). He looks almost anorexic compared to now.
joe said on 22/Sep/07
No way was hogan ever 230, maybe in high school. Even when he was low he was just down to 270+ from 310. That's 40 lbs, that is gonna be real noticable on anyone under 400. And he was about 6'6 in his prime, no more than that to be sure. Some people are able to hold height really well, to witin 1 inch all the way till their like 70. But some, like hogan, really shrink up early on. I think he is only about 6'3.5, 275-280 now.
Mike said on 22/Sep/07
Danimal ...Hogan at 230 for WM 9???? No way Hogan's huge even when hes slimmed down... if Hogan was 6'5 at WM 9 no way could he be only 230...however Hogan looked real cut when he was in WCW I got smackdown vs raw 2006 and he's on 3 different loading screens look at the one from his wcw/nwo days he looked real fit slim at the waist but with his size...arms legs shoulders everything no way has Hogan been anythign under 250 esp at his height and muscle mass...Hogan currently is like 6'3 maybe a spec more ...looks leaner (neck, legs, arms..evreything) he's still gotta be 250-275 today, looks pretty big on tv and in pictures
ben said on 22/Sep/07
I think the article i read was in impact magazine about him weighing 235, if you look at him in the ring at king of the ring 93 with bret hart in the ring hogan looks tall and thin and bret looks stocky, you wouldnt say theres that much weight difference
Alonso said on 20/Sep/07
"I used to be 6ft 7, but after knee, neck and back surgeries I'm now about 6ft 4".
What Hogan said is true, and makes sense. And add the fact that he's older now, that's 3 inches shorter.
The samething was said by the wrestler "Undertaker". He said he used to be 6'10" but now he says he's 6'8", because of the injuries and all.
I have one more point to make, wrestlers have a habit of wearing very tall boots.
Danimal said on 19/Sep/07
Alex, I'll try and find some pics of him at that weight. There's one of him flexing next to Giant Gonzales in 1993-1994?? He was SOOO lean AND he was taller back then too.
Danimal said on 19/Sep/07
JT, he was never ripped in the 80's. What he had was SIZE and A LOT of it. Bodybuilders only get "ripped" when in competition. It requires lowering one's bodyfat count. This was not Hogan's objective back then.
Derek said on 18/Sep/07

ben said on 18/Sep/07
I read an article in 1993 just before hogans return saying he was down to 235lbs... looking back i could give him that weight legit, he looked as skinny as edge back then, maybe a little more muscular but not much. I also remember Sweet Stan Lane on commentary usually giving far more realistic heights and weights. He said razor ramon was 6'5 and 260lbs when his listed height and weight were 6'7 287lbs
Alex said on 18/Sep/07

His arms and upper body is looking closer, but I reckon his thighs and hips area would be much smaller from the effects his injuries/surgeries and age would have on his training. 280lbs? Os Du Randt is 6'3'' 275 & Hogan isn't as big as that beast...

I may be the only one who thinks that the picture with greg isn't all that far off. Greg is probably a 5'11 3/4 guy who is standing next to a 6'5 3/4 guy. Hogan's body size is exaserbating to height difference, any legit 6'5 3/4 guy is going to absolutly tower over some 5'11 3/4 regular guy.
nova said on 15/Sep/07

Jonathan said on 15/Sep/07
Dave, it is very possible to someone can lose more than 3 inches in height. I've seen people who have lost more than four inches in height as a result of serious trauma to the legs, back and neck.
Not everyone is the same, but this is not that uncommon for people who have spent 20+ years in a brutal and extremely dangerous sport like wrestling.
Hogan always towered over most people in his prime but it is a fact that he's lost a lot of height over the years as a result of extensive knee injuries (he talks about it in his book), back injuries (a big factor in height). Hogan also has developed poor posture over the years and seldom stands straight, which makes him look shorter than people who used to tower over.
Dave said on 15/Sep/07
That's impossible he lost 3 inches during these years, and there are lots of photos that proof that theory, at the same time he wasn't 6-7 he weared elevator boots like all wrestler do, he was no more than 6-5 (195.5 cm) in his youth, today he looks around 6-3 to me (191 cm)

Back in 1986, I was on the same flight from Vancouver, BC Canada to Tampa with Hulk. I was 6'1" barefooted then (I'm now 63 years old, and have lost about 1/3 inch in height since then), and Hulk was wearing similar athletic shoes as I, and appeared to be 4 to 5 inches taller than me as I stood right next to him in the Customs line. So, back then he was a true 6'5" or 6'6". I didn't talk to him, but he was very gracious and friendly to anyone who did talk to him, especially kids. He made a good impression on me -- seemed like a nice, easy-going guy.

Hogan was 6'8 in his biggest cowboy boots back in the late 70's. That is why they put him at 6'8 back then, Wrestling was still in the stone ages back then and they had to hype the stars like a circus carney to get fannies into the folding chairs. Which means he was probably a hair under 6'6 barefoot. And he probably topped out at about 312 or something, that is why they thought they could just get away with putting him at 340. That was huge back then. I think he has lost about 2 inches from that today.

And then when he got old and had all the surgeries he has dropped another inch to 6'3 3/4, 275 now. All in about a 30 yr span from 77'-07'.

More evidence that Hogan was over 6'5" barefoot in his prime and has lost significant height. I'll post a recent pictures of Hogan and Ed Leslie (

Frank said on 12/Sep/07
I doubt Arsenio is 6ft and if im not mistaken he was about the same height as Eddie Murphy or alittle taller and Murphy is about 5ft 9
Jonathan said on 11/Sep/07
I saw the Hogan/Arsenio interview in Youtube. Yes, Hogan was wearing his cowboy boots but Arsenio was clearly wearing one of those quasi-Air Jordan basketball tennis shoes with huge heels. These were designed this way to give basketball players more height, running and jumping advantage.
Back in the days I remember wearing those kind of basketball shoes and my height would go from 5'10 to 6'0".
So if Arsenio was 5'11" or 6'0", then with those basketball shoes his walking height would've been 6'2" or more. That would make a prime Hogan look 6'8" with cowboy boots.

Im am a BIG KISS fan and i have been since 1976 Gene was always listed at 6ft 1
In his book he says he 6ft 2 but i dont believe him...He made a movie with Tom Selleck many years ago and the 6ft 4 Selleck was at least 3 or more inches than Gene and also Gene always wears boots with a good size heel on them

I am less likely to put up photos that don't show height nowadays. For instance, I would never put my elijah one up because yours is far better in showing the height difference.

actually nova it clearly says Genes boots have a 6.5" to 7" heel with a 4.5" to 5" inch platform, which would give a 6" lift at least to Simmons.
Paul Stanley boots have a 5" platform and 7" heel as per the description. Those are the same boots stanley is wearing with hogan as you can clearly see them about 20 seconds into the video.

Hogan was 6'5 3/4 barefoot for his peak height. His in ring height was around 6'7. He is the same height as measured 6'5 3/4 Tenta who in ring boots would be around 6'7 and 2 to 2 1/4 max inches shorter than 6'8 Ben Davidson in the same footware. He also matches up well to this height with Trump , Foreman , Ali , Ventura all people of known heights.

Hogan doesn't wear cowboy boots as often as he used to. In the most recent episode of HNB, they went to a dude ranch and he was wearing tennis shoes the whole time. Of all times, you'd think he'd be wearing cowboy boots then.

I think that so many people keep coming back to the Ben Davidson pic because what it does is take 6'8,6'7 and even anything over a flat 6'6 off the table for a peak hogan. If a 6'8-6'7 documented guy who is old is defintivly 2+ inches taller than a peek Hogan(and I think that even supporters of a really tall hogan would have to admit that)then you have to jump through some hoops to even get to the flat 6'6. 6'5 1/2 is far more likely. And I saw the show(I'm sorry to admit) and Davidson was no less than 2 1/4 inches taller MINIMUM.

Hogan was 6'5 3/4 an 305 in his prime. with the boots and the garb that means he probably stood 6'7 3/4 and 315, so he then was able to pull off 6'8 and about 330. That's how he measured himself. Of course he was bigger than Ferigno because lou was only 6'4 and about 275 and since he was'nt a wrestler, didn't have boots on. If Ferigno would have went into wresting right there they would have put him at 6'6+ 300+ in a minute. Hogan is about 6'3 1/2 and 275 now. 6'5 285 with the boots and garb.

This is ALL PEAK Hogan (pre-1990...PRE-MAJOR SURGERIES, which you discount). If Hogan hasn't lost any height, WHY TELL THE WORLD he lost 3""""""""""""", when he can according to you, just wear his boots and tower over people like he used to??? He CAN'T (proof is with Hasseholf, his former partner Brutus Beefcake and even Hilbilly), because he LEGITIMATELY lost at least 2 if not a full 3" of height since 1990.

Whats this whole obsession with Hogan's footwear? Andre wore cowboy boots, and occasionally Trump does too. Unless Andre and Trump were barefoot at the time of the pic (and I seriously doubt so), then substract an inch or two from all of them.
And since we all get shorter as we age, Trump might actually be taller than 6'2 back then.
Hulk Hoga in his prime was easily 6'5" to 6'6". With cowboy boots: 6'7"

Before anyone starts whining, this is Hogan and ~ 5'8" Mean Gene from around 1985 in comparable tennis shoes (

LV said on 29/Aug/07
Another thing about that Hogan/Trump/Andre picture is the camera angle. That very low camera angle actually favors Trump. If that picture were taken at a higher level, their height differences would be more significant. And before anyone starts the whole footwear argument, keep in mind Trump would be wearing heeled dress shoes, so even if Hogan and Andre are in boots, they aren't getting much, if any, advantage.
LV said on 29/Aug/07
This is stupid. Now rob is claiming Hogan is 6'0'?! Yes Hogan is much shorter than he once was, but he's still over 6'3". Here is a picture of him with the Rock (

Jonathan's pictures show that Hogan (whether he was wearing boots or not) is much taller than the 6'2" Donald Trump. There's no way that's just a footwear advantage. Face it, Hogan has lost 1.5"-2".
Jonathan said on 29/Aug/07

With each famous wrestler, you have to take away about two or three inches from their billed heights. But Hogan in his prime was a very tall man. We can't take this away. Hogan in his prime barefoot was a solid 6.5+. With the boots I can see why he looked 6'7" in the 80s. And Andre with the boots was perhaps close to 7'2 or '3. And the Rock, who looks about 1 and 1/2 inches shorter than the Hulk (look at their staredowns) is perhaps 6'2, and so on...

LV, I guess my point was what hogan is now at 54yr old in 2007. not what he was at 31 in 1984. If he was was 2+ inches shorter than a scant 6'8 guy back then (Davidson is old and practically bending over)that means he was only about 6'5 1/2 max back then. And he says he has lost inches in height himself, so he can't be 6'5 now, the 6'3 he looks now is about right. Which is ugly for a guy who was billed as 6'8 for 25 yrs 1977-2000.
Halb said on 23/Aug/07

Greg was lying because he wanted Hogan to be a certain height,it's as simple as that. Greg did say Hogan was wearing sneakers and he remembered the day clearly. So who do you think is lying now?
Viper said on 20/Aug/07
Why would Greg lie about his height, or that Hogan is wearing sneakers in the picture? Maybe hes calling his height in shoes? He should know that we are only looking at real barefoot heights here.
Alex said on 19/Aug/07
Greg's height could very well be only 5'11. 5'10 maybe but to be a legit 5'10 and say 6'0.5 isn't going to get away with people for the most part. 5'11 saying 6'0.5 is more likely since he could have just measured 6'0.5 in boots or bigger sneakers.

As is the case with any picture of Hogan from the 80's & 90's you must be able to see the footware involved or the picture is doubious. There's about a 95% chance that Hogan has boots or the Timberland heel wrestling boots on, which skews everything. About 6'5 tops would make the most sense, the top of that locker is probably 6'0 even, which would jive with a 6'2 otis wilson. greg can't be more than 5'10.
Alex said on 13/Aug/07
JT, Hogan looks a bit under 6'5 in the picture you posted. Still Hogan I think was a 6'5 guy at his peak.
Alex said on 13/Aug/07
I doubted the 6'0.5 too because that would make Hogan like 6'7 in that picture. He's probably like 5'10-5'11 making Hogan 6'5 and no more.
Jason said on 13/Aug/07
Pwned. lol. I said all along Greg was no 6'0 1/2''/was a faker. Rob needs to yank this pic.

I posted this a while ago (
Click Here) The guy in the tux is reportedly 6'4" and looks it from other pics. The guy on the right (NFL'er Otis Wilson) is 6'2". Greg's lucky if he's 5'10".

Greg could be 5ft 10 to 5ft 11 if he is not 6ft.5
sidewalk said on 13/Aug/07
Greg's not coming back. I was one of the first to doubt Greg's height and a bunch of people jumped all over me for it. Now I think most doubt his claim of 6ft 0.5
Viper said on 13/Aug/07
I wish Greg would come back and verify his height. That picture still amazes me.

Hulk looked a good 6'6 barefoot at peak height, id say 6'3.5 now, In his hey day ive read he weighed 320 and when he was very young and on the juice he weighed upto 350. Anyway you look at it, Hulkaminia is still the most powerfull force in the universe!!!!
Alex said on 11/Aug/07
Hogan's legs look big to me still, well I know you mean thin compared to back in the day but those are still pretty big legs overall.
Halb said on 10/Aug/07
I have changed my height on Hogan many times now. And since I have come to this site I have changed it again. I have upped him to 6'5 at peak max.
Danimal said on 9/Aug/07
Man, he definitely gave the appearance that he was 6'7" back in the day and he wasn't too far off that mark. He was a solid 6'5"-6'6" and up until 1986 he was still over 305-310 pounds. He once has not only a large UPPER torso, but had LARGE legs too. Today, he has shorter and thin legs.
For all those who want to see my shrine to Hogan, go on getbig.com

I've come full circle on Hogan, Back in the 80's I watched Hogan and I beleived the sizes he was listed as and I thought he was about the most impressive physical specimen ever, but as time went by in 90's and 2000's I think that I and alot of other people have gotten sidetraked by how big he looks now and think that he never used to be so big. Don't be fooled, I just saw a clip on a youtube site from back in early 1983, AWA days, of Hogan fighting a suprisingly young and healthy looking Andre the giant in japan. Hogan sizes up incredably well with Andre! back then almost nobody could ever even wrestle the giant because he was so big and here is hogan going at it with him and not even looking terribly smaller, This was a great looking giant not the one from several years later that could hardly stand. Even if the giant was only 6'11 and 450 Hogan looks as though he must be 6'7 and about 330. Hogan looks completely different than he does now, he stood so straight and was so athletic looking that he dos'nt even look like the same person now, it's like the same thing that happend with anna nichole smith, she was this playboy goddess and then she looked like fat albert. people change appearence sometimes as they go though life, and anyone who looks at that video will see that a hogan from a quarter century ago was freakin gigantic, just as big as he said 6'7 330

Danimal, umm well when I was in my teens before 18-19 I was more lean and was just naturally lean but after 12th grade I gained like 25-30lbs of not so good weight and wasn't working out. So I guess I'd be average looking size if I didn't workout at all since my metabalism slowed down or something by nearing 20 but also I was inactive for some months too which was why I gained that sloppy weight.
Danimal said on 8/Aug/07
Alex, are you big because you work out? What I mean is, what would you weigh if you didn't touch weights?
LV said on 7/Aug/07
Please read my entire post before making a series of stupid replies. First, I clearly stated that, between his large feet and numerous pictures of him during his peak, he could've easily been 6'5"+. Second, there is a proven correlation between height and foot length. They are so closely correlated, the forensic scientists use their relationship to determine someone's height from shoeprints at crime scenes. Do you think forensic scientists would use that technique if it weren't reliable? Yes, there are short people with big feet and tall people with small feet, but on average that's not the norm. It's all about sample size, if you take 10 people's height and shoe size, you may or may not see a correlation. However, if you took the same data from the entire population of the US, you'd see a strong correlation. Don't call my argument weak, Arjun. At least I have proven statistical methods to back it.

JT, you are a hypocrite and I'll tell you why. You've become worse over the last year. Do you remember the pic of Hilbilly Jim standing next to Earthquake, on Hilbilly's page? Of course you do. You do remember that Hilbilly was slightly taller than Earthquake, right? WELL JT, we also realize that Hogan was always taller than our dear friend Hilbilly, right? Of course!! You CANNOT have it both ways JT.
Halb said on 7/Aug/07
I remember the scene where Andre spoke to Quake. He towered over Quake. At the time I believed the 6'7 billing for Quake and Andre's billed height too.
JT said on 6/Aug/07
A few screencaps of Earthquake. (

Click Here). He looks around an inch taller next to Gene than Hogan ever did and was taller than Hogan in their matches. Bossman is pretty closer to 6

Viper, its also fun sometimes to mess around and downplay your height. Like you're 6'3 so you should tell people you're 6'0. A few times I've told people I was 5'9 messing around and they were like get the hell outta here.
Alex said on 6/Aug/07
Viper, some guys downplay their height. I've seen it before but its rare though, mostly guys are upgrading their height.
He probably was 6'5 and maybe thought he was 6'4 or something.

Vegas, I met a guy recently who I swore on my life was an easy 6-5, but he said he was 6-4. Even his girlfriend said he was 6-5. He even looked more 6-6 to me when I first saw him. Did I just fall into the trap of overestimating a 6-4 guy at 6-5-6-6? He had 2 inches on me at least, I could tell that. He must have been downplaying his height.
Arjun said on 6/Aug/07
Vegas, you certainly don't have short arms, though not NBA-star long either :) I'm 3 inches shorter than you, wingspan about 2 inches less than yours. I would say my arms are longer than average , but not THAT long for my height - one of my friends is also just 5'8" but has a 6'3" wingspan. He has broader shoulders and bigger hands than me though - our arm + forearm bones are practically the same in length.
Guys like Shaq must be getting a good 2-4 inches in wingspan over others with the extra hand length alone.
Vegas said on 6/Aug/07
I agree Jason I don't think Hogan was ever over 6'5 but I don't think he was as low as 6'4 peak either. He was somewhere in between 6'4.5 and 6'5 and has dropped maybe one inch in the meantime, 1.5" max (and 1.5" is a hell of an amount to lose for such a young man; don't forget Hogan was just 48 years old when he went face to face with the Rock in January 2002)

You're on the large side-framed. You can still have a big frame but with smaller wrists, or ankles, narrower shoulders, etc.

Hogan's very big-framed, so it's kind of expected he's gonna have big feet for his height. I'm a size 16 and I'm not quite 6'4''. I remember 6'1'' Rikishi saying he's a size 15. Hogan's only ever physically looked 6'4'' to me.

LV, that shoe size argument is one of the weakest ones I've ever heard. Shoe size is in no way an **accurate** indicator of someone's height. It can, and often is, wrong by several inches. Some fool once said that Shaq had to be " atleast 7'1" " just because he wears a size 22 shoe. Yeah right, maybe Yao Ming is'nt 7'5" just because he has a size 18? Is Yao only 6'11" then????
Vegas said on 5/Aug/07
LV; my 6'4 friend wears a US size 15 sneaker.
I was watching an episode of HKB today and hulk, nick and brooke were all barefoot and hulk had an easy 6"+ on his kids, the kids were well under his eyeline.
Arjun; my wingspan is 6'2.7", it doesn't look like i'm gonna become an nba star anytime soon :(
LV said on 5/Aug/07
On today's episode of HKB, they were shoe shopping and Hogan wears a size 15 sneaker. I know legit 6'6" to 6'8" guys that don't take sneakers that big. Personally I have big feet for my height and wear a 12 or 13 and I'm only 6'0". I realize that shoe size isn't always an indicator of height, but normally it is. A 6'5"+ barefoot peak height is still very likely for Hogan based on that and the numerous pictures we've seen. Many of hear want to downgrade his peak height because he can look 6'2" nowadays in some instances (mainly on his show when he's barefoot or in flip flops while standing next to his daughter while wearing heels). Height loss, especially with athletes, is just a fact of life and the sooner everyone realizes that, the better off this site will be.
Arjun said on 5/Aug/07
6'10" wingspan at 6'3", that's quite long! In my case though, a lot of my wingspan comes just from my arms and forearms, because I have small hands (only a little over 7 inches from wrist to middle finger tip) and narrow shoulders. And my legs are'nt proportionally long either, about average for my height I would say. What's your wingspan, Vegas?
Vegas said on 5/Aug/07
Whats your wingspan Viper???
One of my friends who is 6'3 has a wingspan of 6'10, but he is built like a basketballer (despite never playing the game), he has long legs, big hands, long arms, really long neck, smallish head for his height and is very thin.
Viper said on 4/Aug/07
Im measuring right where my arm connects with my shoulder.
Arjun said on 4/Aug/07
Viper, it depends from what exact point one starts the measurement of their arms. Try measuring your wingspan instead.
JT said on 4/Aug/07
Players (especially in college) may inflate wingspans like they do heights since this will make them effectively taller than other players of the same height but with shorter arms. Elton Brand of the LA Clippers is no more than 6'8" yet he has IIRC the same or greater
Standing Reach than their 7'0" center. Brand does not jump that well yet he is a great rebounder and shot blocker because of his long arms.
