Good to know his claim. 5'10" is much more reasonable and while it's 1.5" above his barefoot height, imo, it's typical for a man Statham's height to claim 5'10". Remember, Mario Lopez has looked SHORTER than Jason more than once yet repeatedly claims 5'11"!

@andre: Wrong. Sly nowadays is about Statham's height and most agree somewhere from 5'8" to 5'8.5" and seemed a bit taller than Jason when they did the Expendables so likely weak 5'9" range or at least a consensus of somewhere from 5'8.5" to 5'9". Those two are very similar in height, same with Van Damme and Wesley Snipes.

He was ordering coffee in Malibu. I slowly moved my body right behind his and my eyelevel were above his cranium. In fact, had I tilted my head 1 cm forward, my lips would've touched the top of his head.
I'm a solid 5'10" and was wearing blue sandals with flower embroidery. He was in adidas sneakers so not sure what to make of it. His shoulders were incredibly wide and his voice was smoldering. The crowd stood at a stand-still as he elegantly made his way to the exit.
I don't know why but as he grabbed his coffee and turned, his eyes dived into mine like he was performing a perfect 10 summersault. It felt like he gazed straight into my soul. I almost fainted. Thank god my double moka latte was ready!

5 ft 9 seems likely since he is roughly his wife's height when she is not wearing her heels (she is also rumoured to be 5 ft 9), also he is bald and that can make him look marginally shorter than his true height.

I agree with Darius. The one reason I don't think Statham has lost anything is the fact he looked clearly shorter than 5'8.75" Robert Knepper a decade ago, which suggests he wasn't taller than 5'8.5" back then. That means if he lost anything, he'd be 5'8.25" today and I haven't seen anything to suggest he's that short. Obviously, such a minimal loss is possible, but it's so minimal, a 1/4" can be accounted for with different sleep/activity schedules/habits and/or a normal variation in footwear.

174cm or 5'8.5" seems the most likely for Jason Stathams height. 5'8.75" is quite arguable but I don't count on it. 5'8" is impossible btw, he looks taller than that. My initial guess was 5'9" for Statham but after seeing all the supporting evidences , 5'8.5" is the most realistic option.

@Slim: Funny enough, Kelly Brook expressed disappointment Pitt was shorter than she expected, yet Statham's height didn't bother her(at least as far as I know). Statham did look more of a 5'8" guy than 5'9" at the Killer Elite premiere, but had his usual slouch. He is at worst, as tall as Mario Lopez and a bit taller than Ludacris so no less than 174. But 174 is bad news for Cruise who would look maybe 171 in comparison.

I probably drop to at least 173.7 cm. Although I've measured myself at 174.3. I thought calling myself 174 was fair, but I've done more measurements in various footwear than without. The 174ish would be without footwear of course. I can't say whether I've lost anything and I don't know quite what my max is. Definitely not 177, though. I hope and don't think I've lost anything, but I have arthritic knees and lower back pain so I have to watch out as minor height loss can start around my age.

@RichardSpain: I have to disagree. We agree Sly is 174 cm today so look at my July 29th post. You can see Statham is still no taller than Sly on video and his boots add at least as much as Sly's dress shoes. This is further confirmed by the pics I showed in those same post, which show Robert Knepper is clearly taller than Jason. You can see Rob got a picture with Knepper and guessed him 5'8.75" or 174.6 cm. This narrows Statham down to a most likely height of 174 cm, imo. He doesn't look above this at the Killer Elite premiere either compared to 3 other people. But no shorter either as he looked about 3 cm taller than Tom Cruise in Collateral and Cruise is 171 cm minimum, imo.

Definitely a good downgrade, though I think even dropping 1/4" more would eventually be most accurate since I agree with Rob's listings of Knepper at 5'8.75" and Stallone at 5'8.5" today, but as I showed in my July 29th post, Statham was clearly shorter than Knepper in a series of full pics and still no taller than Stallone in recent video. 5'8.75" was probably what Van Damme and Snipes were in Expendables 2 and 3, respectively and I think both may have just edged Statham, though all could have been 5'8.5" as well.

It's possible, he looks it with Rourke, but Sly Stallone is still the same height as Statham in the video of them leaving lunch recently: Click Here You can compare them for a few seconds around the 13 second mark when they seem to be pretty much side by side before they get too far down the ramp and the angle gets too low and then again around the 45 second mark when they're off the ramp. Here's their footwear: Click Here Click Here Sly's shoes will not add more than Statham's boots. I can't see Statham a half inch, much less more taller than Sly today as Sly isn't above 174 cm these days.

But since Sly is a bit enigmatic to use as a reference point, here's Statham with Robert Knepper, who Rob estimated at 5'8.75": Click Here Click Here Click Here One could be forgiven for thinking Statham was 5'8" there, but 5'8.5" is certainly the most he looks at the premiere and a series of full pics can't be dismissed that easily. Ultimately, this is why I settled on 174 for Statham. I can't explain why he sometimes looks a solid 5'9" guy, but comparing him to a weak 5'9" guy is about as good a reference you could ask for. Rob actually looks taller than Statham did with Knepper!

Statham can look both a bit shorter and a bit taller than Wesley Snipes who is almost surely in the 174-175 cm range himself. It wouldn't surprise me to see Rob give Snipes a 5'8.75" listing and I think it's possible he edges Statham seeing them together a number of times in the Expendables 3 and then at the numerous events.

He's worn cowboy boots in a few movies - perhaps to make him taller - but I don't remember seeing proof of lifts and he doesn't seem to care about his height off screen. Some have mentioned him looking taller for the Fast & Furious films, so maybe in those, but I haven't seen them yet.

Yeah, he was definitely 2.5 to 3 cm taller than Cruise in Collateral. Cruise must have forgotten his lifts! The full 5'9" was maybe a bit optimistic, though he could look it at times, certainly if Cruise is 172 cm, though I'd agree Tom is more 171.5 cm or 171 at worst. I'd say 5'8.5" or as listed. His posture is the tricky part plus he'll wear cowboy boots in some films so you have his height going down and then up. The shortest I've seen Jason look is some of the photos from the Spy premiere. The height difference between Jason and Jude Law did vary widely in some of the photos, but overall it seemed possible Jude was 2 inches taller: Click Here I mean even if Jude is a 5'10.25" guy and had 1/4" thicker shoes, you could still argue Jason at only 174 at that premiere.

I agree on 174 Canson, but I don't see him below 5'8.5" either. That's his slouch, imo. He had a bare minimum 1" on Tom Cruise in his Collateral cameo. He actually usually looks taller than Mario Lopez too who I'm convinced is exactly 5'8.5". Don't know what that's about other than maybe Mario having more 2 cm shoes and Statham more 3 cm. He was taller than Marky Mark at events for The Italian Job too since Mark didn't wear elevator shoes at the premieres like he did in the movies. I had thought about the possibility that Statham may have lost a fraction at age 49, but it's not just recent appearances that have made people think he's shorter. I suspected the same thing. Both Statham and Kurt Russell can seem taller lately, especially with the recent Fast & Furious movie. It's why I'm never completely sure about Statham. Like I say, I do think the downgrade was appropriate, but he's tough. Like all of Rob's listings, a quarter inch more or less remains possible.

They went to town with favourable camera angles in the latest fast and the furious to give him the illusion of being taller. I also get the feeling he was in lifts for a lot of the non action talking scenes where he was face to face with Dwayne Johnson.

He could have passed for a solid 5'9 range type guy in the film, whereas in the movie Spy he looked A LOT shorter.

I agree with RisingForce and think he's 5'8.5, 5'8.75 could be on the money though also.

The only one of those stars I see as low as a flat 5'8" is Banderas, but I wouldn't even be surprised if he was 5'8.25". Sly was an easy 174-175 range peak, closer to 5'9" than 5'8", imo and still clears 5'8". Snipes, likely similar to Sly. I do agree Jason looks surprisingly short with Knepper, but differences can always look bigger or smaller in photos than they are. I think Statham at slightly shorter than Knepper would be fine.

On every picture Statham lower than him minimum 2cm. And then look Rob with Knepper. I think it's clearly that Rob is probably higher than Statham, and we now Rob is legit 5'8. Snipes is not over 5'8 (max 5'8 like Jason). GP nice sayed this: "All these action stars are between 5'7"-5'8". I mean on Jason, Banderas, Snipes, Sly. And i am sure if will Rob stand next to Jason he will be higher! And don't mean i hate Jason or something like that, i am just objective and realistic. And also i am big fan of Statham, he is my favorite actor.

David, of course, I disagree with Rob on some listings as well, in fact, I'm thinking now that 5'8.5" would be better for Statham as he still hasn't managed to pass Stallone in height as far as I can see even as Sly has shrunk a bit as well as seeing Statham with Robert Knepper, but he is very good good at what he does and 2 inches is A LOT for Rob to be off, it'd really be unprecedented for anyone Rob has had on this site for a good period of time. Mark Wahlberg isn't over 5'8", but he's not under 5'7.5" either, if you like, we can debate that on Wahlberg's page. I'll tell you this, though, Rob is 100% more reliable than these random anonymous posters who claim to have met Ludacris. We have no idea of how well they judge height, whether they actually met Ludacris or even whether they know their own height. Statham isn't a flat 5'8", though. He's taller than Ben Foster and don't tell me Ben Foster is 5'7". To give a few examples to explain why Statham isn't 5'8" flat, I'll also use a few more examples of heights I believe Rob has too high. Statham is taller than Antonio Banderas, who Rob has at 174 cm, which I think is too high, but I don't doubt Banderas is 173 cm, a legit 5'8" or possibly 5'8.25". Similarly, Statham was taller than Mario Lopez on video at The Expendables 2 premiere, and Rob gives Mario 5'9", which I think is too much as he's 5'8.5" max, imo, but he's definitely not under 5'8" either. Similarly, Statham was taller than Ryan Phillippe, who Rob has 174, while I'm thinking more 172-173. Statham was also taller than Robert De Niro, who was still at least 172 cm in 2011. If you want any chance at convincing me Ludacris is shorter than 172 cm, then post comparisons using people whose height range we can roughly agree on as reference, but random in person ssightings are not evidence, they're all over the map. And no problem about English, I certainly wouldn't want to be judged too harshly on how I speak Italian!

RisingForce You can't tell Ludacris is 172-173. Just look comments on his height and you will read how much people spoted him in real life and all of them say he is about 5'6. So Statham is max 5'8 because is little taller than Ludacris.

I pretty much agree, berta. I can't completely make up my mind on Jason because of his posture and occasionally, he will look 5'9"+, but then he's looking shorter than Robert Knepper in a series of full premiere photos and Rob gave Knepper 5'[8.75" after meeting him. Jason also still didn't seem any taller than Sly by 2014, even without lifts. He usually looked slightly shorter, but I could buy them at the same height. I'd definitely saying 5'8.75" is a safer bet than the full 5'9" at this time, but as of now, I have to guess 174 while reserving the right to change my mind because he is looking a little taller for this last Fast & Furious. But for those who think Statham is a flat 5'8" or under, he's consistently a bit taller than Ludacris who is a solid 172-173 cm: Click Here Click Here In fact, Statham looks at least as tall with Ludacris as Kurt Russell did.

This guys height has always confused me, I've had him pegged at anything from 5'8.25 to 5'8.75 (I don't think he's 5'9 like Hardy).
After seeing 172cm listed Jeremy Piven look the same on flat flooring as 175cm Hardy (and no tip toeing by Piven!) I'm starting to re-consider a couple of heights on here.
I'll take the middle and go with 5'8.5/174 for Statham.

If you compare Rosie Huntington-Whiteley against both Hardy (Max Max red carpet) and Statham I think Hardy comes up slightly on top. I used to think Hardy needed an upgrade to 176cm but I think Rob's 175cm listing is his Max now.

I wouldn't go lower than 5'8.25" and the 5'9" is still possible, but a max, imo. With Robert Knepper 5'8.75", I really can't see Statham taller, though and 5'8.5" actually makes more sense in comparison, same thing if Sly wasn't above 5'8.5" at the time of Expendables 3. But Statham's posture is the x factor.

Statham isn't 5'7". He was an inch or more taller than Tom Cruise, who is probably at least 5'7.5". Stallone was still a solid 5'8.5" last time he was with Statham in 2014 and he has better posture. Van Damme was probably at least 5'8.5" as well in 2012 and Statham could look taller at other times. Those 2 are probably the same height. Mario Lopez is at least 5'8", probably more like 5'8.5" yet Statham was taller. Statham was also taller than Robert De Niro in 2011, when De Niro was likely 172 cm, or 5'7.5" at worst. No chance Ststham is less than 5'8". I'd really give him at least 5'8.25" and 174-175 cm is more likely.

They're in mid-stride walking in those pics, not even standing still for one of them. She's probably a bit taller than him, but you can't tell how tall someone is from a picture taken while they're walking as each height varies as they go up and down.

Jason's in some smashing films, that's for sure! I love the one where he partners up with Paddy Considine as a couple of detectives trying to track down a cop killer. It is action-packed, but retains a good sense of humour, which I think helps when a film is dealing with a serious subject.
Jason is an average 5ft9! His girlfriend, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is also 5ft9, but when ever they are standing together, she always looks considerably taller! That's because Jason is 100% confident enough not to get irked when his girl wears high-heels! I actually thought Rosie was a bit taller, even without shoes, but I see here that they are a same-height couple! Hats off to him for accepting his height, and for living up to his tough-guy image! Guys like that don't need to be 6ft plus! That's a lesson for us all!

Very nicely put Dan. It's a Hollywood rule that action stars can't be shorter and when they are asked, almost all of them will say 5'10", unless they are so below that mark, in which case they will be ridiculed. I have met Van Damme, Snipes and both are 5'8" or possibly lower. Years ago Statham used to play football on a celebrity team in US that was called Hollywood United, if I remember correctly. I think his buddy Vinnie Jones played on that team also.I actually played on a different team in the same league, but never saw him play. Guys who met him would tell me that he was short but very nice guy.
In my opinion, my observation is that if a celebrity mentions their height, but in reality they are couple of inches or more shorter that their mentioned height, then Rob is little hesitant to drop their height more than an inch. In Hollywood, when you get an agent or manager they tell you that you will be listed as such since taller you are, more marketable and attractive you are to the viewer. Cameras can always do the trick.

A simple exercise in acute observation and deductive logic ladies & gents. Consider the length of Jason's gluteus/buttox muscle and compare it to that of his hamstrings. The difference is minimal. This can only be observed in short men under 5-8 and under.
Everything points to him being short. He is shorter than Sly (who in my opinion is also shorter than listed 174cm), visibly shorter than Rosie (look at the beach photos barefoot), only a tad taller than vertically challenged Jet Li and the list goes on.
But of course, him being an action star, he's height has got to be upgraded otherwise he'd lose all credibility... I am being ironic here since short men also fight in MMA with a great deal of success but this Hollywood and nothing is what it seems. One day, he may come out and reveal to the world his real height but in my heart, I feel this day is nowhere near tomorrow. Personally, I am not holding my breath.
Another proof: look at the length of his arms. They are almost longer than the whole of his lower body from toes to upper butt. This never happens! It is very rare and that is why I hereby submit and reiterate my estimate with complete confidence. He is no more than 5-8 at best.
I date a lot of top models and when I ask them if they'd date him if they hypothetically found out he was 5-7 (which I don't think he is), they all laugh and say yes so as you can see, height is not needed to be deemed as attractive to the female audience. Perhaps some guys would be disappointed if they found out the truth but my guess is that most wouldn't care and the majority would even be appreciative of his honesty.
It would just take one short celeb to come out clean and disclose his real height and perhaps more would follow.

Just watch him next to 5'5" Jet Li for heaven's sake. He's just a fraction taller. He's got broad shoulders and not the best posture in the world. He also has gorilla long arms and neanderthal-like mandibles which help make him look taller from certain angles but even back in his Olympic diving days, he was by no means considered a giant. Google Jason Statham and Robert Knepper (listed here as 5'8.75", which is fairly accurate). They were on Transporter 3 together. There is no way Statham is more than 5'8", and that's being generous. It's simply amazing how well this guy can rock being both shorter than average and bald. One of the few short-ish guys who never seems short, even next to taller people. And one of the best looking bald guys on the planet probably.

I think anywhere in the 5'8.5-5'9 range is quite arguable for him. He's a guy that can appear taller but never looked more than 5'10 in movies to me.

I would say 5'9. There are a few pics of him barefoot or wearing just flip flops next to his VS model wife who is 5'9, they look identical. There's a barefoot pic of Jason next to Saffron Burrows (6'0) and she does look to be about 2-3 inches taller than Jason.

Reposting as I'm not sure why people don't believe? As I said earlier I'm 5ft 10 stood next to him and he is at least 2'' shorter, you can't get more realistic than that. Not interested in how tall his girlfriends might me etc it's pointless. Perhaps wears uplifts in his shoes like Tom Cruise - he didn't the day i saw him! He's short.

Law has atleast 5 inches on Statham,with poorer posture i believe.If we're going to take for granted that Law really is only 5'9,Statham would be MAX 5'4 next to him(first pic),while in the second pic,both of them are standing losely and we don't see their shoes or even the ground,but Law still has 3 inches on him,so either Law is in big 3-inch lifts in that event or Mr Statham is 5'7 TOPS,which i believe is abit low for him,but anything over 5'8 is too HIGH for him.One thing is for certain,he's nowhere near 5'10 or 5'11 as described(or even 6-6'1 in a few movies lool)-althogh he does look 5'9ish in the Transporter series imo.

I think he's 5 foot 9 in the morning and is no shorter than 5 foot 8.5 in the evening'evening. He is one of those guy's who can easily pass for 5 foot 10 in shoes.

He's 5'7.5 at best. Rosie isn't even 5'9. In fact she definitely looks shorter next to 5'9 Doutzen Kroes and even sometimes looks shorter than Candice Swanepoel. He's a major lift wearer in movies.

What Law gains from his straighter torso posture, he loses with the weird bend he's doing, something he seemed to do at every event for this movie where he was standing with Jason. From these and other photos, it seems to me Law is more than just 2" were he to straighten up to his full height. These photos also have me more convinced than I was that Law could be a proper 5'11".

Ok I changed my mind, I think if Statham stood completely straight, he would comfortably be 5ft 9. It's perplexing how someone with an athletic background has such a relaxed posture

Rob have you seen the recent photos of him and Jude Law during the promotional events for Spy? I have met Jude and he is 180cm and has slouchy posture. In my opinion in the photos with Statham he looks 3" taller than Jason. I would like to get your expert opinion on this.

5'9 or 175cm seems fine for him. He doesnt stand straight he tends to keep his chin low and stand relaxed. Ofc next to height aware guys like Stallone he will look shorter.

He is a short actor with long arms. His arm to height ratio is 1.4. Same as Snipes and sly. That's why it's easy for them to pull of looking much taller on camera. Most who meet this guys in real life have been very, and I mean very shocked by how short they are. Max 5'7.25" for Statham
