Editor Rob: I just seen a photo of Jim with a guy who used to be at conventions, he could still look close to 5ft 9 in 70's with him...
He seems to have aged very well, not lost much height at all. I would rule out a full 5 ft 10 with Phil Silvers, though he could often pull off looking that and I'm sure did clear it out of bed in his prime.

Yes, I think 177 looks the most accurate. At times he could really look close to 5 ft 10, looked nearer that than 5 ft 9 a lot. 5'9.5 I think is the fairest, 175 definitely seemed too low.

Rob did he once have a 5'9 listing in an old book or something? 176 looks spot on with Phil Silvers but with the others I'm leaning more on a 5'9.5 177. I think he looked taller than 5'9 flat anyway. Because there were so many short actors in that series Jim can pull off almost looking tallish at times!

Editor Rob I've not seen a mention, but it could be likely he claimed 5ft 10.

Considering his age Dale has managed to retain his height well seemingly! I still think 5'9.5 peak would be fairer though but 176 is at least a compromise!

A full shot there and you can see footwear. Looks comfortably taller than Cumming to me, though Cumming might be nearer 5'9 flat.

Correct my guess to 5'9.5, been watching a few Carry On and he generally looks about 1.5 inches taller than Sid James. I think that would be spot on.

Rob yeah see 1:28:11 Click Here definitely comfortably over two inches taller than Williams. I think something like 5'9.5 and Williams at 5'6.75 is possible, seems to fit more than 5'7 and 5'9 anyway. To me Dale looks around Delon's height, I'd give him 5'9.75.

Editor Rob I'm not so sure, he was rising up on tip toes a bit in that final scene, but there may well be 2.5 inches.
