I’ve found a brilliant rendition of the Yes song Roundabout, featuring the Rush frontman, Geddy Lee. It was fantastic!

Yesterday I tried my best to eat a tomato.
I’ve always found this fruit absolutely revolting, after I was forced to eat them in the children’s home when I was six, and ended up crying! 😂🍅🤪
I can just about manage the tiny, cherry ones, but after yesterday’s attempt, I have concluded that they definitely aren’t for me. 🤮
What remained of the tomato reminded me of the front cover of the Yes album ‘Tormato’, which came out in 1978; my Mum bought it for me for Easter, bless her.
I decided to listen to the album thereafter, and enjoyed it so much that I bought a copy on Amazon, which I’m playing now. There are bonus tracks on it, in usual CD fashion, and I remember all the lyrics as if it were yesterday, but then I can’t comprehend how you can ‘unlearn’ the words of a song that you like and have sung many times. 🧠🎶
Jon gets 5ft5.
ALAN WHITE:
Alan White, drummer with Yes as from 1972, replacing Bill Bruford, passed on this year, aged 72. 😢 Alan joined John Lennon’s Plastic Ono Band back in 1969, so he started his musical career very young.
RIP Alan XXX
Sadly missed….

Hey Jon! Your music has an uplifting effect on complete strangers, as I experienced yesterday!
By the way, Jon’s son, while still a child, can be heard on a track from the Yes album Tormato.

I played Jon and Vangelis to my foxes last night and they loved the music and Jon’s high-pitched tones. Geddy Lee’s banshee voice, on the other hand, frightened the cr@p out of them!

I’d like to add that I’ve never heard Vengelis sing. It would seem he is chiefly a musician and an excellent one at that.
Similarly, Mike Oldfield, 5ft9, is mainly a musician, but later on in his career, he did contribute vocals, adding that he was surprised that he ‘didn’t sound too bad!’
The guy was a teenage prodigy. How’s that for false, albeit genuine. modesty?

I found 6ft for Vangelis, so he must be bending down in the picture. The Greek musician started composing at the age of FOUR! He turned 79 at the end of March, so height loss is inevitable.

I’m listening to Jon and Vangelis and very beautiful it is too. Their song ‘I’ll find my way way home’ from the early 80s, had particular significance to me.
Vangelis has written much music for movies. He doesn’t look
much taller than Jon in the depiction on the cover.

I opened a Mozart album the other day, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik’, and in it I found a Yes CD, so I’m playing it now. The first track comes from their album Close To The Edge, and is called Siberian Khatru, from 1972.
It was very pleasing to the ears!

I had a choice just now: should I watch Bianca and Dan getting their rocks off in classic EastEnders or should I listen to Yes's 'Nous Sommes Du Soleil'?
No contest!
Before this, there was a clip complete with all the band, including Rick Wakeman, the late Chris Squire, Steve Howe and, of course, Jon Anderson, and one could see their heights really well. Jon was the smallest, Chris, Steve and drummer Alan White distinctly tall to average and Rick Wakeman looked very tall indeed.

I watched a beautiful video, recorded in a church, of Jon and the late Greg Lake singing 'I Believe in Father Christmas'. Greg was in ELP and plenty of other bands, and he passed away aged 69. 🕯️

One brilliant Yes album to check out is 'Tales From Topographic Oceans'.
The album sleeve is beautiful and so is the music.

I actually went to my local pub yesterday and had a pint of Guinness! I sat at a table and watched a Yes concert on my phone. A young fellow came up to me and asked me what I was watching, and I said it's an early Yes concert, probably from 69 or 70. The lad said he liked Queen and other 80s music. I said to him that Queen started in 1973, and their early stuff was, to my ears anyway, their best. He said he'd check it out! I said, "You won't regret it!"
Rick Wakeman hadn't joined Yes at that time. The keyboardist was one Tony Kaye and Bill Bruford was also in the show. That's going back some time, I can tell you! I found the concert by accident and wanted to compare Jon to the very tall Rick Wakeman. Some other time, no doubt....
This was the very first Yes album, called quite simply 'The Yes Album', which I bought when I was 15.
Yesterday's little indulgence was the first time I've been to a pub since last century! 🍺
Jon gets 5ft5 - my height equivalent in male form! 😉🎶🎵

Today I have been playing a lot of Mike Oldfield's music. He celebrated his 68th Birthday yesterday. Jon has appeared with Mike on one of his songs, so I guess they know each other pretty well.
As well as 5ft9 Mike's music, I played Yes and Genesis, groups who tend to show up when you're playing Prog Rock. I've been into Yes since I was 15. 😁👍

I've spent much of my day listening to music, including songs by Yes, the Pixies and good old Jethro Tull, whose singer, Ian Anderson, is exactly 10cm taller than Jon. (No relation!)
Once I was travelling on a tube train and I met a guy who knew Jon Anderson, and he told me what he got up to in his garden shed. It was rather funny actually, but unless I get it straight from the horse's mouth, I refuse to accept it. Jon writes the most marvellous songs, and I imagine he hangs out in his she'd writing them! I don't like tittle tattle. 🖕😝

I've been listening to some Mike Oldfield songs on my phone and one of them - entitled 'Shine' - features Jon Anderson on vocals. The video to this song has a huge chess board, complete with pieces that move by themselves!

I've had a song of utter beauty in my head today, of which I remembered one line.
I typed the line into my phone and it led me to the track 'Awaken'. What beautious scenery! It so takes me back.....
Jon Anderson - you're a legend.

I've just checked to find that there have been 19 full-time musicians in Jon's group Yes. A little strange that - I thought there were 20.
I'm most upset to have read whilst trying to re-buy an album I used to have called 'Fish Out of Water', by co-founding member of Yes, that bass player Chris Squire, passed away over 5 years ago at the age of 67, from leukaemia. Chris was the only member of Yes to have played on every one of their 21 studio albums. I saw him play at Hammersmith Odeon when they did their 'Drama' tour in 1980, one which did not include Jon Anderson or Rick Wakeman. He was a tall fellow and I've just found his height was 193cm. Chris was a songwriter and vocalist as well, sounding very similar to Jon Anderson.
RIP Chris Squire 🕯️ XXX

@Rob- What is Jon's peak height based on your own perspective ? 5ft6 , 5ft5 1/2" or 5ft5 ?
Editor Rob
It is possible a bit over 5ft 5 and today under half inch.

🎶 I was playing some of Jon's music yesterday morning, from when he teamed up with the 6ft Greek musician, Vangelis. Both were sitting down and it was a performance they did on Top of the Pops, called 'I'll Find My Way Home', which means a lot to me.
🎶 Thanks for giving him a page, Rob! I've been a fan of Yes since I was 15, and did at one stage have all their albums. I knew Jon wasn't unduly tall. He would wear long flowing sleeves onstage and his music was some of the best progressive rock I've heard. It's hard to choose a favourite album; I like 'Tales From Topographic Oceans', 'Fragile', 'The Yes Album' and so it goes on. They're all brilliant and many of the members of Yes have done solo projects too.
🎶 Lovely to see Jon on Celebheights! I'd read he's 5ft5 myself, so that's what goes in the box....
🎼🎶🎸🎵🎧...😉👍

Whether Jon was as tall as his 5ft 6 claim (peak) is hard to tell.
