What a contrast to the lovely Hayley Cropper!

I don’t think that my 5ft3.25 was in any way excessive for Julie. She could even be slightly more.

I never thought I d hear Julie use the ‘F’ word, but I just did! She played a copper’s wife in Happy Valley Series 2 and the naughty word is said in episode 4. 🤣

Oh, how SWEEEEEET! Hayley told their foster boy that she used to be a man but didn’t feel right about it so decided to change sex. The little boy, Wayne, likened the situation to a fish or a worm who is capable of changing sex!

Julie has started in 'Classic Coronation Street', and moved in with the love of her life, Roy, played by David Neilson. Quite honestly, I think Julie looks at least 5ft4 next to David.

Blonde Julie famously made her mark as the sex-changed 'Hayley' in 'Coronation Street', taking on a subject that had never been tackled before.

I automatically expected that Julie, in order to have been picked for the part, would have been taller than a diminutive just-over-five-foot-three! One can't help but wonder if the fact that a 5t3 man would be treated as inferior, thus contributing to his line of thinking that he might as well fulfil his dreams of being a woman, but 'Coronation Street' never dealt with that side of things. Coupled with the fact that the great majority of soap stars are rather petite, I wonder if any of us even gave it a second thought.

However, Julie did wear a short-haired, dark wig for her part, and it WAS the type that really does give one's height a boost! I don't know if that was the yearned-for effect, but it did certainly contribute to fooling me into thinking that she was around the 5ft5 mark, no questions asked! A short height for a man, yes, but not so for a woman.

So, after that bit of wonderment, I will go with 5ft3.25!
