To my knowledge no one has said she has lied about her age. I believe everything you have said and I am basing what I have said below on that.
If you type in “Kathleen Bird York birth” in the Google box the first result is incorrect, they say her date of birth is the 11-5-1975. They say she is from Los Angeles too.
You can see that her birth details are incorrect if you access the next link.

In York's case, she obviously isn't born in 1975.
You can see an article from 1986 where she talks about playing a 22 year old.
Heck she even says she lost her own parents at 15 and now "as an ADULT"...yeah an adult in 1986, not an 11 year-old 😆
There's another article from 1986 mentioning how she'd been in LA 5 years and she herself saying "I spent 18 years freezing to death", so she is a child of the early 60's.

My 1/2 sister is Kathleen York. Why she lies about her age I don’t understand. You have her birthdate as May 1975 making her 45 years old. This is absurd! Why? When she played Andrea Wyatt on The West Wing beginning in 1998 that would have made her 24 years old. Have you ever heard of a Senator 24 years of age? My 1/2 sisters birthday is March 21, 1961. I’ve celebrated it with her dozens of years. She is 59 years old and will be 60 on March 12, 2021. She was NOT born in L.A. as you’ve written she was born in Chicago Illinois, just as I was.
