English underground Boxer, bouncer and actor, remembered for playing Barry the Baptist in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. The "Hardest Man in Britain" once said
"I'm 6ft 3in and 20 stone plus, and I'm like a time bomb waiting to go off."

6ft2 barefoot in his prime he was billed at 6ft2.5 join the 1970s but the question is was that barefoot or in his shoes cos if he was 6ft2.5 barefoot he be 6ft3.5 in shoes which he never looked and by the time he was in his late 40s he had lost a lot of height he was actually smaller than his son who I say is around 6ft2 himself in the last years of his life he was no more than 6ft1 or 6ft.075 he was a heavy smoker which would of weakend his bones causing shrinking rip Lenny McLean

@J2Frenzy
I wonder if the bodies of older people who've lost a lot of height when they were alive, tend to elongate more compared to bodies of people who died at their peak (before starting to lose any height). That's also another possible theory.

@Christian in the case of heavy guys like McLean, there’s less pressure on the spinal column which means post mortem height gain is feasible. It would probably happen for everyone, but a 280 pounder like Lenny probably lost height from his bulk, so it was a more significant change

@Rob
So I guess bodies enlongate after the perosn dies? Because MLK's post-mortem body was allegedly 69.5" (5'9.5") in his autopsy.

Or maybe measured to end of toes, roughly? Can always throw an inch or two off.

Nice...so when I eventually kick the bucket lying down I'll be 6ft6!
Editor Rob
maybe that was what was on an autopsy, it sounds like it.

Rob, maybe 187cm zone at the end of his life?

Ok thanks to the person who emailed me the quote his daughter apparently said:
"The truth is my dad was 6ft 2ins but he had an inch Hill put on the bottom of hes shoes so it make him 6ft 3ins . But when he died he was 6' 4 as your muscles relax when you are dead , so it makes you a bit longer"

Lenny's face is familiar, and so it should be to me! He starred with the Kemp brothers in 'The Krays'.
He's reputed to have never lost a fight.
Lenny 'The Guv'ner' McLean died of cancer in 1998 at just 49.
6ft2.5 🥊

He was one big fella, 280 pounds at 6'2.5" is very solid. From googling him, he had one of the most naturally mean looking mugs.

His daughter kelly mclean stated on his height on her tribute site which a family member of mines on she stated he dad wore custom made shoes with heels built up underneath to make him look taller and stated her dad in his prime was a barefooted legit 6ft2inches
Editor Rob
That's rather interesting, could you see if he could find the quote and pass it along?
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 30/Oct/20
He was probably 187-188cm at the time of his death

Slightly shorter than Craig Fairbrass in a photo I've seen. I'd say a solid 1.88
I know a weight lifter with a similar frame to Mr Mclean. He was measured around the 1.88 mark barefoot, and weighs in around 20-21 stone.
Due to his size many people assume he is in the 6'3-6'4 range.

A guy like Lenny I believe would have been a candidate for losing height by his early 40's.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 29/Oct/20
Nice one...yeah somewhere between 6ft2-3
