I saw Lesley the other week in an episode of 'Silent Witness', which I believe might have even been the very first. She is in prison for taking the rap for something her boyfriend was primarily responsible for. She had drugged her baby so that he wouldn't shake the child violently when she cried. What a horrid storyline; this excuse of a man was still at liberty to do the same thing again...

Of course Lesley's character suffered at the hands of her angry inmates, who literally towered over her. Her 5ft2 - she was 40 back then and passed for younger, with a line-free face, but the other woman all looked a minimum of 5ft8 - some much taller. I think they must have been chosen for their way above-average heights, because anyone could have been forgiven for thinking that Lesley was a flat 5ft.

She gets 5ft2 for peak and 5ft1 now.

@ Gladstone Screwer - Yes, I remember Lesley in 'The Elephant Man' as well! Now she plays a boring woman with a boring husband who serve together in a boring cafe, but then you can pick up all sorts of hints on people's heights in a cafe because everyone has to walk in through the door before choosing what to eat and drink!
I sometimes still watch her playing alongside another actress with the same name, different spelling, in 'Where the Heart Is' and that is Leslie Ash! She was always considerably smaller than Ms Ash, as she is next to the majority of actresses in 'Emmerdale'; 5ft1 seems the very most she could be now, so I'm going to settle for it, and 5ft2 for her peak!
