Were nuns really so evil? A girl has just cut her arm and an evil nun forced her bleeding arm in a bath full of acid. This is indescribable.
Peter’s film covered the incidents leading up to the Magdalene laundries being closed for good.

Talented Peter Mullan wrote a hard-hitting film called The Magdalene Sisters, in which he made a cameo appearance. I’m now watching a similarly disturbing movie called St Agatha, which is really taking things too far. A pregnant girl has thrown up her breakfast, and a nun wants her to eat it, saying, “We don’t waste good food here.” DISGUSTING!
I think I might have a copy, which I stopped watching minutes in. I’ve even thrown films away after finding them overly offensive. This is showing on the Legend channel.
Peter gets 5ft7.5.

@ Mark Thompson - It’s kind of you to have replied, so thanks!
If this doesn’t make me check out the second Trainspotting film, then nothing will, but I will have to go and hunt for it as I have hundreds of DVDs. 😁

@ Lmeister - Ah! Thanks for the reply - I only found it this morning!
Well, Saturday was yesterday so did you get round to seeing 'Trainspotting 2'? If you did, I hope you enjoyed it!
Was Peter Mullen in it? I so look forward to finding out myself. I am happy to hear that you rated 'Tyrannosaur' so highly. Another brilliant watch of his is the controversial 'Neds'! If you haven't yet seen it, you must! You'll love it!
@ Rob - I didn't know Peter came from Glasgow!
Also, I'm now eager to check out the film 'On a Clear Day'. It does ring a bell actually so I'm going to Google it later.

@Sandy Cowell - Hi 😊 I've watched the original Trainspotting twice during last 3 weeks. Gonna go and see Trainspotting 2 next saturday. Tyrannosaur is also a great, but very emotional film. Peter Mullan was 5ft8 in his youth. Nowadays a strong 5ft7. He is very underrated actor.

Mullan is a typical Glasgwegian, he was also great in the film 'On a Clear Day'.

@ Lmeister - Hello! Have you, per chance, been watching 'Trainspotting'?
Yes, it's a great film and has moved up a few notches in my 'must watch soon' list!

Looks like a weak 5ft8 in Trainspotting.

I find Peter Mullan to be an actor of the highest calibre! I have at least 7 of his films and they are all excellent!
The one that really got me to notice him was the particularly hard to watch film 'Tyrannosaur', in which you see him playing a cruel and contemptuous drunk. He meets a poor, abused woman, played brilliantly by Olivia Coleman, and it is at this point in the film that you see his character does have a softer side.
I see he says he's 5ft8, and he's written here as less, but I'm not going to quibble with a half-inch difference! He is a dynamite actor and director (the Magdalene Sisters, which he directs and stars in, is a MUST!), and I haven't yet regretted buying and watching any of his films. Peter Mullan is a badge of recommendation!🏆

More like 5'6''. Additionally, being only in his early 50s, Mullan looks almost two decades older than he is. So he might have been 5'7'' at peak twenty years ago, but constantly looks 5'6'' for several years now.

Watched Children Of Men last night. He seemed more 5'7" next to Clive Owen, but Owen's a big, imposing guy, so he probably gives the impression of being shorter next to Owen.
