I’d like to put half stone on, to be a little more muscular. And I’d like to be taller. I’m 5ft 10 — I’d be happy with 6ft. But I’ve had no complaints so far.

I've just looked at Russell with celebs including;
Gary Lineker (5' 9.75" - who I've met), Noel Clarke (173 cm range) - who you've met, Alan Carr (listed 5' 9") and Jonathan Ross (6' 1" - who looked 2.5" taller at most).
He looks a decent 5' 10" to 5' 10.5" with these. There are probably countless other examples with other celebs too.
I'm giving him 5' 10.25" (178.4 cm).
He's a solid 5' 10" range for sure and would've fooled me for 179 cm, if I hadn't noticed his slight footwear advantage.
His claim is accurate enough, but modest really. Still 178 cm range though.

I also measured a comfortable 177 cm range when I got home.
Could he have slipped a half inch insole inside his footwear? Possibly, given that quote.

He looked an easy 5' 10.5" but had 1.25" footwear on.
He was clearly taller than 5' 9.75" me.
He has very good natural standing posture.
There was certainly more than 0.25" between us.
This has given me a slight 'height scare', lol.
It makes me wonder, could many celebrities just measure with loose posture? Unlike us guys on here, who are far more likely to bust a gut for measurements?
Because he looked the same height as my 5' 10.5" mate in person.
Any thoughts on this?

Editor RobSome folk might not bother with a fraction over 5ft 10. Maybe he is one of them...but eyelevels can throw things off at times.

I’ve seen him with Greg James a lot as they presented a TV show together, so I thought he was shorter than this, but he was wearing thin soled shoes and obviously Greg James is very tall. 5 ft 9.5 sounds about right.

I saw Russell last night at 3 in the morning or so, in an episode of 'The Chase'. He was most impressive, kicking off with 9 out of 10 of his questions correctly answered!
He stood next to Catherine Tyledsley, who will have been wearing heels. When he stood up PROPERLY, he was taller than her and, yes, I reckoned on.... 5ft10!

This is pretty much how me and my 4.25" shorter friend look like, camera angle gives the taller guy a big height advantage, I doubt the difference is any larger than 4.5", the left guy probably inflates his height far too much.

Looks between 5ft 9 and 5ft 10 in the photo above. I'd be more Inclined to go with 5ft 10 after seeing Russell with Jonathan Ross on guess the star. Was 2.5-3 inches below Ross.

Editor Rob you would expect a 5ft 10 guy at least an inch under a 6ft 4 guys eyes, although with different camera angles etc it could look more or less than that.

Looks 5'7 next to the 6'4 guy.
Maybe Greg is being modest rob? I know some guys who are minimum 6'4.5 that just say 6'4.

Editor Rob there is a 3-4 degree tilt to the photo, but 9 inches would be below greg's mouth :/
