Taking into account Curry has hair and Jack doesn’t that is at least 2cm difference in height. I’ve played ball against Jack and seen him many times as he’s from DC area as well. He’s 2” shorter than I am and no more than 188-189. Curry at 186.5 at a low makes the most sense. Also adds up with how Max guessed Derrick Rose 186 range and Jackson (below) whose 6’2.5 friend played against curry and guessed him an inch shorter than him. Curry on a normal day isn’t over 6’1.5 maybe less when he’s been on the court for hours

@Junior: I agree. No way he holds 6'1" 1/2 before bed, not from what I see. Not on the court, and that's fair as -- after all -- this is when we see these guys. 6'1" flat very possible at end of a night game.
Shane said on 20/Nov/17
@Canson: I strongly disagree that Curry's low is almost 6'1" 1/2. I think he can go as low as 6'1" flat. He measured about 6'2" right out of bed at combine. Not uncommon for people over 6'0" without shoes to dip 3/4 of an inch to even a bit over an inch. By the end of a game, I can see him down at 6'1", for sure.

@Junior: I agree on Rose and Curry. I can buy maybe 6’1-6’1.25 for rose curry could be like 6’1 3/8-5/8. Russ I do believe has the best chance of being right on the money. He looks strong 6’2” with Melo. I base my estimates for curry and rose also off how they look with Jarrett jack. Jack looked similar to Russ in person strong 6’2” 188/189.
Junior said on 25/Oct/17
Canson , given their lowest i would say Derrick Ross big chance to be 186cm flat and Curry 186.7cm nothing over. Despite Ross always look same height as Damian Lillard who get measure pre-draft at 6'1.75" so he might drop below 6'1.5" at his lowest just like Ross and they were all shorter than 6'2 Russell Westbrook.
Canson said on 24/Oct/17
Well said Junior. I think Curry could even have 1/4” or so on Rose but I think the one point guard who looks his pre draft to a T is Russell Westbrook looks a strong 6’2. He is taller than all of those guys like wall Curry Rose etc
Junior said on 23/Oct/17

Celebheights 6'1.5 said on 2/Oct/17
I would say:
Stephen Curry-6'1 7/8-6'2" (he would possibly drop under it at his absolute low after a busy day on the court, but maybe not by that much)
Tony Romo-6'1 1/2"-3/4"-He's a weak 6'2" that probably obtained a 6'2" measurement 2-3 hours out of bed. I'd be surprised, however, if he were a flat 6'1". They would have really had to have done an awful measurement at the combine/him claiming this height. He probably would measure as being just barely taller than Steve Nash if both obtained measurements for their extreme lows.
Both would be shorter than Ryan Reynolds, however.
Canson said on 29/Sep/17
@6'1.5: it's the same with Rob Gronkowski. I question his now whereas before I didn't. He looks 6'5.5-.75 (197cm range) next to Brady honestly and is shorter than Jimmy graham which is odd because both measure 6'6.25 supposedly. Now I can look back at cam newton and wonder as well as Kobe can "appear taller" sometimes. I would've guessed those two the same actual height 195cm as cam measured 6'5" flat at the combine in the AM
Celebheights 6'1.5 said on 28/Sep/17
I do sometimes question Tony Romo's 6'2" measurement, based off of the fact that he often does appear shorter than other NFL player who were measured at 6'2" (or near the mark that is). He even appears to be shorter than Stephen Curry does in other photos as well. I'm thinking that it was a measurement that was done earlier in the day...
Canson said on 25/Sep/17
I don't believe that Curry or Romo are as tall as they are listed on pre drafts. Curry doesn't look more than 186 range next to Westbrook or Jarrett Jack

@Shane: I concur with Rob. I was essentially saying that difference with jack and curry looks maybe 1/2" with hair and if curry had none looks 2cm or maybe close to an inch based on several pics. I agree with you that curry can look 185 range sometimes. I give him a full 186 or so to be consistent based on how Wall looks and appears to those who have met him such as 2 people I know and even a poster here SJH. Another poster too said that a friend met wall and looked weak 6'2. I can see max 1cm diff with wall and curry back to back maybe 1/2". I could say Wall looks 6'1.75 most times
But for Curry I find it nearly impossible that he is a legit 189 walking around based off how he looks with Jack when Jack barely makes that himself if even. Now Curry waking to 189 isn't completely impossible or 188.5
Shane said on 12/Sep/17
@Canson or Rob: how much height does a full head of hair add to a measurement vs. A bald or shaven guy ?
Editor Rob
there's a lot of variation, sometimes as little as 1/8th, to as much as a few inches if wearing a big bun or have an afro style or spiky do!
Curry's hair looks at times 1/4, and when a bit more full maybe near 1/2 inch.

He is bald wherrwas curry has hair. There is no way humanly possible that Curry is 189cm. Maybe he wakes up around 188.5 but likely is 186 range later in the day. That's how he looks on the court

@Canson he said: up at 6:30 getting test. What does it mean?. Was he doing the medical at that time? So then he must got up earlier yet
Canson said on 9/Sep/17
@Johnson: it says nothing about curry "waking up at 630". If you are going to argue argue facts. Blake griffin walked downstairs in his video of his and curry was in the same draft class of 2009. They all stayed at the facility where the combine was when they were measured. Curry actually tweeted at 630 am saying he was at the combine. That's when everyone was there. The thing with the measurements as I've mentioned before is that there are no 1/8" increments so likely he could've been bumped up from even 6'1.76 not to mention a touch of hair can add 1/4" too. Looking at him with Jarrett jack who is bald and is 2cm taller he is 186-186.5. I had jack by two inches and he is the same size as Michael phelps or Russell Westbrook is
As for your height that is not the norm. But I believe you if that's what you say. Me on the other hand I lose 1/2" in 2-3 hours of waking up. Then am down to 193.9 by hour 7-8. I can get down to 193.7 which is 6'4.25 if I go to the gym but I have the 6'4 3/8 194cm flat to be what I consider my actual height even though I wake up at 195.8 usually depending on how much sleep I get. I could claim 6'4 or 6'5" if I wanted but choose 6'4" as i really only feel that claiming higher when I am content with what I am is just assisting others in lying up nothing beneficial to me really. Now in many cases your estimates tend to be Morning heights not the heights they walk around at.
Shane said on 9/Sep/17

@Canson Curry got up at 6:30 but we don't know the hour when he did his medical test and if he went there my car. I only read the tweet nothing more.
Also we do not know his exercise hours of sleep etc
In the case of my job I wake up at 7:30 and then I go to work and I begin working. Then I go to medical. I have been working for more than 1 hour so when I get measured (3 hours after waking up) I get the same figure I get at night. Same height
I am not sure if I worked seating I had taller figure at morning, or just some people once they are walking a bit abd over 1 hour we get to low immediately

I agree on Russ I think his measurement is legit and accurate as is worst case maybe he dips 1/8" but having met Carmelo before he looks his 6'6.25ish in person and has Russ by 4". The pre draft shifted from afternoon to morning in 09 and curry was drafted that year. I believe he's more like 6'1.5 maybe 186 range 6'1 3/8 possibly and that Wall is like you said a weak 6'2. He's not as tall as Russ is in reality if you see them on the court
Canson said on 6/Aug/17
@Shane: actually in a few pics with Sabathia Judge looks taller imho so the 6'6.5 could be close to a low for him maybe a bit lower like Carmelo Anthony's height 6'6-6'6.25. But surprisingly he may be 6'7" out of bed or a hair over which is reasonable for a 6'7" listing even on the roster

@feez: 6'2" may be a roundup from 6'1.75-6'2 range (and that year 2009 was an early morning measurement as evidenced with his 630am tweet along with the Blake Griffin video at 630am). But that would still put him mid 6'1" range like 186-186.5 in the afternoon. Based on Mike Greenberg who said he himself is 5'11 1/2 and curry is st most 2" taller and how curry looks with Jarrett jack (188-189 in person).

@Canson: I think Rob needs a thread for Aaron Judge for sure. Probably a few other baseball players, but DEFINITELY him. He looked easily over an inch taller than 6'6" listed Stanton of the Marlins at Home Run Derby. I'm thinking he's at least 6'6" flat barefoot at some point in the day, maybe 6'6" 1/2. Hard to tell with so many shorter players on the diamond. I have no doubt he's 6'7" in shoes for sure. Some baseball players heights are more inflated than basketball players, but I don't think Judge is one of those guys. I'd say he could have gotten by with a 6'8" listing in MLB or NBA and not many would have doubted it.
As for Curry, I stand by 185 to 185.5 at his low. Probably closer to 185.25.

Baseball heights are typically shoe heights as well or barefoot with an inch or two added. Some say MLB heights are more passed than NBA generally.
Intevel said on 13/Jul/17
Rob if NBA players can measure their height in shoes, would it make sense for super models to measure their height in heels?
Editor Rob
nobody should really be stating their height in anything but their bare feet...
but if you really want to tell people your height (and include the shoe height) then best mention it, because when we talk about human height, it is a measure from the soles of our feet to the top of our skulls.
I hope the NBA stopped inflating the actual height of basketball players and ditched the silly sneaker measurements entirely.

Also to @Canson: Jarrett Jack came in at 6'2" 1/2 barefoot at 2005 combine and before 2009 they were still measuring in afternoon or night a,lot of years. So you have Jack pegged well. Please see my comment below this one.
Canson said on 30/May/17
@Christian: I don't even think Curry is that small honestly. I'd go with 186.5 as a normal low prob. I've balled against Jarrett jack before and jack looked 188-189 and there's maybe an inch there. jack is similar to how Russell Westbrook measured when he came in. My guess is Russ is at most 6'2.5 maybe and may edge jack out now or be same. Both had similar pre drafts jack 1/4" taller

I understand where you're coming from, but a flat 6'1" might be a little too low for him. He's gotta be 186cm at least. Even if he comes down to a flat 6'1" after a game or workout, that would be his extreme low, and not his usual low. His usual low I believe is no less than 186.
Shane said on 29/May/17
@Rob Considering these measurements are done very early in morning, I'd say the vast majority of players dip another 3/8 inch minimum. Most probably 1/2 to 5/8 and some 3/4 to an inch. NBA switched to early morning measurements in 09 when different camps were getting guys measured a month apart and 1/2 inch or more different on the barefoot measurements (obviously the shoe measurements would vary depending on what shoes). Anyhow, they finally figured out that the reason prospects were measuring in some cases 1/2 inch and up difference at times was due to measuring at different times of day at different camps.
Shane said on 29/May/17
@184guy typically they stay at a hotel across the street, wake up and dress and get measured. Not quite out of bed height but about as close as they can get.
Shane said on 28/May/17
@Christian: Keep in mind, some people lose an inch or slightly over from morning to bed, ESPECIALLY after a basketball game or heavy squats, etc. I'm 6'2" barefoot and have lost an inch or slightly over before and quite a few people -- especially taller ones lose 3/4 inch to easily over an inch for those 6'6" plus and pushing 7 feet. Not uncommon for them to go easily over an inch. I'd say Curry can drop to 6'1" flat by the end of a game, or darn close.

@Canson... did you see my NBA Combine info below? Also, I verified that the measurements were again done "bright and early" to get near optimal heights. @Rob: Did you see my comment about Steph dropping well below 6'2", since his 6'2" was near an out-of-bed height?
Editor Rob
yeah he could dip under 6ft 2 as could any basketball player based on their combine measurement. Some may fall only a small fraction, but maybe some who got up early and measured within 1 hour could even lose half inch or so.
Christian-196.5cm (6ft5 3/8) said on 28/May/17
Curry's certainly not 6'2" during afternoon, as he's only 2cm taller than 6'1" Obama even with slightly thicker footwear. Wouldn't put him above 6'1 5/8" afternoon and 6'1.5" before bed.
Shane said on 28/May/17
@Phil no hes not. He measured 6'2" barefoot basically right out of bed which could have been 6'1" 7/8. He likely drops at least .5 inches during day and night thereafter.
Canson said on 27/May/17
Shane is 100% correct. He's an inch lower than Jarrett jack.ive met Jack and he is similar in size to a guy like Russell Westbrook is listed maybe give 1/4" in person

Shane said on 18/May/17
To, looking at your comment not far below this: you said 187 cm (a bit over 6'1" 6/10 would be an extreme low and could drop under 6'2". I'd say falling under 6'2" is a guarantee as his 6'2" barefoot was done very early in morning for one. Two, it may have been 6'1" 7/8. Three, considering it was an early morning measurement, he almost assuredly loses no less than another 3/8 of an inch at a bare minimum and could lose closer to 3/4. I'm his height and can lose a full inch and a shade over on some days and while it's not completely common it's not exactly rare, especially for those 6'6" or 6'7" barefoot and over ...
Shane said on 18/May/17
@Canson and for the board: I know you (Canson) will find this of interest from 2017 NBA Combine. Haven't verified if measurements were in AM again (have you?), but of 66 players measured (both with and without shoes):
here are results of the NO SHOES measurements. Some years have had some bigger differences:
-13 of 66 measured 2 to 2.5 inches below listed college height.
-29 of 66 measured 1.75 to 2.5 below listed college height.
-41 of 66 measured 1.5 to 2.5 below listed college height.
-50 of 66 measured 1.25 to 2.5 below listed college height.
-59 of 66 measured 1 to 2.5 below listed college height.
-62 of 66 measured .75 to 2.5 below listed college height.
-65 of 66 measured .5 to 2.5 below listed college height.
-1 of 66 measured same height as listed college height.
WITH SHOES, just 25 of 66 were as tall as their listed college height. Even in shoes, 41 of 66 were shorter than listed height.

@Shane:absolutely I can see the 6'1.25 possibility or 6'1 1/8 after a game. My opinion was of his aggregate height on a normal day meaning just knocking 3/4" off his morning. My guess it's more 6'1 3/8-5/8 (6'1.5 is a good look for his avg).
Shane said on 9/May/17
@Canson: I'm confident he drops to 6'1" 1/4 or even 6'1" at night after a lift or game.
Celebheights 6'1.5 said on 7/May/17
If he's my height, then he'd have to be 6'1 1/2". I have been measured at this a bunch at this height, and would definitely not be the full 6'2". If I could figure out how to link a photo of this, then I will.

Canson said on 6/May/17
@Celebheights 6'1.5: by all accounts (the post that Jackson posted below) as well as what Mike Greenberg stated that's he's 5'11.5 and curry is 2" taller at most I'd say he's your height. That makes sense as NBA pre drafts are now taken early morning. I saw the Blake griffin video that was almost after he woke up within an hour. A 6'1 7/8 measurement for curry could've gotten him a 6'2 listing on paper but 6'1.5 would be the height he walks around at and I'd say he's prob no less than maybe that or 6'1 3/8 at his lpwest
Celebheights 6'1.5 said on 5/May/17
I was just at a Warriors game as I'm in the Bay Area for a few days. I stood by a lifesize photo of him on the wall (somebody said that worked there says that they actually measurede him for it, with it being exact). I don't know if this is the case, but if it is then Stephen Curry is about my height, with a possibility of being 6'2". It was hilarious being the only one having a photo taken that came up the top of the drawing's head, or was taller.
The only reason why I question the accuracy is because the Kevin Durant photo seemed to be off, with his appearing to be 6'7-6'8" in shoes at the most by me (which obviously is too low). I do wish that more stadiums had something like this.

Canson said on 23/Mar/17
@SJH: agreed! he posted on twitter at 630 meaning he may have even been measured earlier or around that time. But him being listed at 6'2" means nothing. He could've been 6'1.75 and rounded up like you said. According to Jackson (below) and Mike Greenberg from Mike and Mike he's about 6'1.5 and that assumes they are comparing to a low measurement. But think 186.5 is a fair listing for curry which would make him 185-186 after being on his feet
Borats Chicken said on 19/Mar/17
Rob, possible you could give Kawhi Leonard a page? he deserves it!
Canson said on 15/Mar/17
@S.J.H: agreed. I'd say his aggregate is 6'1.25-.5 tho. Mine would be 6'4.33ish but I can come down to just over 6'4" if on my feet like Shane said for curry. Curry isn't more than 6'1.5 night not probably an aggregate lower than 6'1.25 tho

Agree with you and shane. Yes this explain why my legit 6'0 cousin confuse curry at both 185cm to 186cm when he met him on the game few times. Draft measurement taken at 6-7am i was thinking if curry measure with thick socks roughly 3mm bossting maybe just 187.7-187.8cm they just put him 6'2 and without socks he is 187.4-187.5cm and by the time at night on the nba game court he drop to lowest between 185.6-186.2cm so he is between 6'1 to 6'1.25
Canson said on 4/Mar/17
What Shane said is completely accurate. Especially if he is on his feet playing. I'd say out of bed Curry would be between 6'2 1/8-1/4 maybe the latter and would ordinarily be 6'1.5 if he didn't play and maybe 6'1-6'1 1/8 if he did
Shane said on 3/Mar/17
At 6'2" barefoot first thing in the am or very close to it, by the middle of a night game you can bet he is somewhere around 6'1" depending on how much he compresses during a day. That varies significantly from one person to another, but generally more the taller someone is. So by halftime of an NBA game, Curry would be anywhere from 6'0" 3/4 at lowest to 6'1" 1/2 at very most. Likely in the middle of that- 6'1" flat to 6'1" 1/4-3/8.

Editor Rob: there's a lot of variety with nba heights with shoes/without, ranging from 0.75 up to 1.5 range.
Yes, Lebron James for example, he was of course measured 6'7.25 barefoot, but only 6'8 in shoes, so he clearly he thin 2cm range footwear.(BTW, Lebrons measurement is actually believable). But then other other players gain an inch and a half from footwear, with most gaining 1-1.25. For example, last years number 1 draft pick was measured 6'11.5 if I'm not mistaken, but a whopping 7'1 in shoes. MBA heights are definitely unreliable though.
Kobe's former teammate, Nick Young, was somehow measured (supposedly) 6'ft5, yet, he is clearly shorter than 195-195.5 range Kobe Bryant, and really, although he can appear 193-4 range at times, other times,(like with Kobe) I think 192.5cm isn't impossible.
Anyway, half the players from last years draft gained 1.5 inches from footwear, many others 1.25in, but you always have a stray 0.75in gain.
Again, NBA heights are simply unreliable, although NFL heights are usually pretty much spot on, of course you have guys like Tim Tebow who somehow got a 190cm listing, when he doesn't really ever seem over 188! But then again, it occasionally even rounds down heights, listing Terry Owens at 6'2, when really 2.25-2.5 seems closer. And Matt Ryan gets both 6'3 and 4, Brock osweiler gets '7 and 8, etc.(need to check his combine measurement).
As for Curry, I think he can give a shorter impression at times, and I actually don't think he's far from this listing, but I can't say 188cm evening, a guy his height, and w/ his build, has got to be losing an inch or so, after a full nights rest.
I'd give him 187cm, Rob. Playing it safe and going 6ft1.75 would be what I would do personally. I just think that there is more than enough evidence to knock a quarter inch off.
And I hope you're doing we'll, sorry for the long post, but it's been awhile.
Keep up the good work :)

@Height: I'd say for Curry prob about 186.7 (6'1.5 ish) only because I've seen two or three people describe him right at 6'1.5 and 6'1 range but 187 isn't out of the question either. I say Barnes you have perfect same with Livingston he's def a strong 6'6 as is Barnes. Not sure for the other three.iggy can look taller than Draymond but also vice versa. And I saw pics with Livingston he can look taller than Iggy to where I question the 6'5.75. My estimate for Green would be 196.5-196.7 (6'5.5 give or take) then prob similar for Iggy and maybe Klay 196. Green may have Iggy by a hair. But Klay Can look shorter than both to me too. Draymond is odd though. Proportionately, he doesn't look that tall until you see him in front of someone else taller or close in height with him then he looks close to how he measured for example KD or even a Boogie or his teammates like Klay and Iggy and also Barnes only looks to have around an inch on him tops

This is the original pic where you can see their feet and a clearer view of their positions.
Although Klay's stance is a little wider, he is clearly closer to the camera since he is about a shoulder in front of Harrison. Harrison also happens to be leaning significantly to his left. Despite all of this, Harrison seems about 1 inch taller:
It's still not the best picture of both together.
To me Harrison always seems very similar in height to Lebron on the court.
Canson said on 12/Jul/16
@Height: 6'6.5 for Barnes could be very adequate and accurate esp if morning measurement. Or he could lose an inch and be 202 out of bed 198.8 at night. Now for Draymond it's possible. That could be 1-1.25" between them. Also Draymond wasn't a "top" recruit so he mayve been measured later than Barnes so may only see 6'5.5 at the end of the day and could be the 198.8 in the morning. It's hard to tell who's taller between Draymond and Iggy. Some pics Iggy has the higher eye level when next to each other. But they may be the same. I also noticed something else in that Barnes looks "similar" with Klay but a pic implies Klay is a hair shorter than Green (eye level is lower) but it leads me to wonder now if Barnes is overlisted a bit.

I actually met Draymond Green in the Michigan State lockerroom one time. It was unexpected as he was coming back for a game to watch some former teammates. I didn't pay much attention to height, but noticed what I notice in other pictures and that is that he hunches. He doesn't have the best posture.
I also met Gary Harris. It always made me laugh seeing him listed early on at 6'5". He's still listed at 6'4" in the NBA despite being measured 6'2.5" barefoot.
Peter 179cm said on 8/Jul/16
NBA draft measurements are mostly done early in the morning,so 187cm flat for Curry or even a little less after a match is more possible than 188.
Canson said on 8/Jul/16
@Height: with Steph and Klay: that's a tough one too lol. Some pics I can see Klay edging him by 3.5 then others 4. I see Steph as 6'1.5 and Klay in the 196 flat range maybe 6'5.25 if he stands straight
Canson said on 8/Jul/16
@Height: that's a good question. Klay can in some pics but in others Draymond. Here is a case where I can see Draymond losing more height with his build and maybe being 1/4" shorter at least sometimes it can appear like that. I'd put Klay and Draymond around 6'5.25 or maybe 196 flat and Iggy is prob like Majerle's height. You're right he is noticeably shorter than Livingston. Good eye there! I always thought he was taller because of the way he's built. I can see Iggy as 196.5-197 range I def don't see Livingston below that "almost 199 mark". He looks similar to Melo.
Height said on 6/Jul/16

Iggy could be even 6'5.5", at least he looks that on the court next to Livingston. There seems to be almost a full inch between them and Livingston is a true 6'6.25" at night.
Dreymond and Klay are trickier to me, especially Klay who always likes to stand using a wide stance and hunches a lot when he is next to other players. Who is taller to you?

@Crypto: I agree with you. That's prob morning measurements for both poss rounded up from 197 flat 6'5 5/8. Draymond esp I can see as 195.58-196 at his lowest. He didnt look any taller than that in the all star pics and that was with him in a favorable angle (the guys to the right always are favored as harden looks as tall or taller than he and Klay something very interesting as ive seen many all star pics and it always works that way). Both players look shorter than Iguodala and Shaun Livingston 6'5.75/6'6.25 respectively. It's hard to tell who's taller. Klay looks it on a favored angle but others draymond or same. I know gentry Said draymond is closer to 6'5 than 6'6 which to me signals a morning measurement and Kerr said he's 6'5. But I almost see both waking to or near 6'6 no doubt.

@Plus: I will say that after seeing Buddy Hield's measurements i presume (of course subjective but a good guess) that they measure within the first hour unless Hield was wearing thicker socks. Hield was 6'4.5 in shoes the past two years and is now 6'5 in shoes when he's likely past the point where he would grow. They gave him 6'3.75 barefoot when it was widely thought he's a hair over 6'3. I guess 6'3.25-.5 sounds more correct for him. He looks the same size as OJ Mayo would. Other players out there from this year appear the same as well. They look to have gone up 1/2".

@plus, Obama was not measured in shoes no matter how much people want to keep pushing this narrative.
Canson said on 18/Jun/16
@Plus: curry was measured 6'2 not 6'2.5 (check his pre draft). And that was an early morning measurement (saw the tweets and times). Jackson has it right. A friend of his has met and played against him and at 6'2.5 had Curry by an inch. That makes sense as he'd likely be 6'1.5 normally If 6'2 from bed
plus said on 18/Jun/16
@Canson Yes I agree, about Obama he was measured in shoes and they possibly discounted 2 cm of the dress shoes. I am aware of some medicals in some companies they are made this way, in dress shoes and then they take off 2 cms.
plus said on 18/Jun/16
Well, I actually think he is exactly 189 cm tall. And Obama 185.5 cm. This heights can fit together. About the 6'3 claim, I believe him. He was measured very early, and at 6'2.5, so he rounded to 6'3. It is normal, even Piqué at 193 cm was measured early at 193.4 and they are measured barefoot. The explanation is the early morning height at such tall heights
Editor Rob
I'm not sure he can be 189cm when sometime maybe 2 hours after waking he was 6ft 3.25 in sneakers and 6ft 2 barefoot ;)
Shane said on 17/Jun/16
@Rob: Thank you for editing that back in. The sentence looks terrific, by the way, and the content adds terrific background info to the overall conversation.
Shane said on 17/Jun/16
I dislike that Curry's quote about it him saying it is official i am 6'3" being removed from top. i thought it added great background info and great insight into how people view their own height as he obviously counts his, shoe height as that was an in shoe measurement. Would like to see it put back up .
Editor Rob
I will work it into the one sentence, so it might sound better.

My 16 year old daughter is Doctor measured at 6'3". We advertise her at 6'4" to include shoes. Inflating heights is so normal in basketball.
EzioAuditore711 said on 10/Jun/16
Just over 6'1" makes sense. 6'1.25" is what I always thought he was. Nice to see it confirmed.
Shane said on 7/Jun/16
Out of bed height is absolutely legit... its a persons full height before compression. No reason not to claim it when you can stand up and be it. Its just your max height. Its certainly real...
Andrea said on 7/Jun/16
If he measured 6'2 within 2 hours of wakening, he could be more 187 range for sure...
He certainly looks way more 6'2 than that Justin Trudeau guy with Obama, though!
TJE said on 6/Jun/16
According to the guy in this video, Steph was measured at "just over 6'1"

He says he woke up at 6.30 a.m for the medical... So even 6ft1.75 its arguable for him... But he claims 6ft3!
Editor Rob
yes I am aware of it. He forgot to mention the w/o shoes 6ft 2 though.
A fraction under 6ft 2 barefoot at lunchtime is believable since he likely got measured sometimes within 2 hours of wakening.

Rob, how tall do you think his brother is?
Editor Rob
maybe near an inch smaller.

There is more than one photo of them together. Curry is taller in every photo. No, they are not virtually the same height.

Rob do you think he normally wears 1.25inch sneakers/footwear.
Editor Rob
on the court yes, but at events he might just have normal shoes 0.75, 1 inch styles

My friend has a cousin who plays in the NBA and he has played basketball with Curry before. My friend is 6'2.5 and said he had Curry by an inch. I'm 5'11 and he said Curry is not much taller than me
spainmen191cm said on 21/May/16
Rob, considering his measurement was probably in the morging, he could dip under 6ft2, like 187cm at the end of the day?
EzioAuditore711 said on 4/May/16
So 6'3.5" for Trey Kerby? I knew he wasn't 6'5"! That means Leigh isn't 6ft, either.

BTW, Spieth is around 6'0" in reality. There is no real difference in height between him Tiger Woods in pictures. It's kind of why I want him added as he's clearly not his listed height, though it's not way off. Even still given that, Curry is still easily two inches taller.

I was pretty close to him after a game with the Wizards. He's taller than you'd think close up. A very solid 6'2" without sneakers, probably 6'2 1/2" to 6'3".
Beavis said on 8/Mar/16
So Westbrook is 6'4 on the court cuz he is clearly taller than all the other 6'3 guys and always look more like Harden and Wade height. Also JR Smith is not taller than Westbrook on the court.
S.J.H said on 5/Mar/16
I think most players w/o shoe height could have be measure in the morning and some player have get round up by a fraction or standing on full stretch, like this is what happen why most player look half inch shave off even with without shoe listing given. Just small example james harden measure 6'4 but look 6'3.25-6'3.5 , chris paul measure at 5'11.75 but look 5'11.25-5'11.5 , curry look solid 6'1.5 most of time, kyrie irving measure 61.75 but doesn't even look a proper 187cm guy while he look at most 6'1.25

he seems to have 6ft 1.75 without shoes...maybe he got a 'not so long' out of bed measurement and carries himself shorter on court?
plus said on 11/Feb/16
I guess he grew up since the predraft height. I consider a height 2 hours after waking up on. The typical medical at 10 a.m is good. I also have been through doctor at 18:00 sometimes. I only don't take seriously post breakfast time and very early times but most of the medical tests are decent in hours. 188.5 for Curry is good.

Morning height is still legit because it is within your range, but a lot of people on this site including me are more keen about putting people at afternoon/night height because you are that height for a longer period of the day and you lose a fair chunk of your morning height pretty quickly, plus you're more likely to get measured after morning. There is no set rule. But I think Rob likes to guess someone within a few mm of their low at least and that's probably how its been on this site since the beginning. Measuring someone out of bed is a different story though, I wouldn't question that so there is no need to bring up morning vs night if its just a friend, on celebs we have to be stricter though lol.

Re:Morning height.
For myself If someone is measured barefoot at a certain height in the morning I have absolutely no problem with them claiming that height. I don't think it's any fairer for someone's height at 7pm for example to take precedence over 7 am when giving it out. If you measured it (barefoot of course) you measured it.
EzioAuditore711 said on 16/Jan/16
Westbrook would be the tallest out of those 3.
JZ said on 15/Jan/16
man, what's with not counting morning height as legit? if anything, the morning height is the most accurate one, because people' spine compress at different rates during the course of the day, and very few people measure themselves in the evening or before going to bed. only someone who is
Obsessed With Height would do that. if you ask a regular person his/her height, there's a very high chance that they will tell you their morning or afternoon height, since that is when the majority of measurements are carried out as part of a physical examination. i've been measured at school, at the doctor's office, and gone through military draft physical check-up, and not once have I seen people get measured past afternoon. people should really stop dismissing morning height as if it doesn't count. if you ask me, it's more accurate and widely used than the evening height; but generally speaking, i'd say everyone should claim their late morning/early afternoon measurement as their true height.
Paul said on 14/Jan/16
Guys, who would you think would be the tallest out of these 3: Curry, Westbrook or Rose?
Canson said on 14/Jan/16
He was most definitely measured in the morning. He is 6'1 and a little poss.
But Duhon. Question for you. And this is not directed solely at you. It's a question for everyone who wants to make Charles Barkley taller than he is. It seems as if the morning measurement question that Duhon asked being valid comes into play only to make someone taller. all over Charles Barkley's page people say "well oh I guarantee that to be his lowest measurement." Let's just pretend it is his lowest even though he actually measured 6'4 5/8 at the Olympics and I doubt they measured him when he was going to bed. Why is it ok for Steph curry to claim his "inflated/out of bed height" which to me is not valid (when he obviously can't maintain it for the remainder of the day), but not for Charles Barkley because it makes him shorter if he had he really measured what Rob has him at at his lowest. If anything Barkley would be able to replicate his measurement where Curry would not be able to throughout the day. I can't see Curry close to 6'2 in the evening closer to 6'1. Something isn't right here. So question is, why doesn't it work both ways? Why does everyone always try to inflate People's height as opposed to just telling the truth? I am just being honest here because there are way too many people who like to upgrade or give the benefit of the doubt just to make the celeb taller. It almost makes me wonder if people fraud their own height up in this same way. Again, Duhon, this is in reference to your question not directed at you but you were also one of the believers Barkley is 6'5.5 or more when he isn't.
jtm said on 13/Jan/16
if he was measured 6'2 in the morning then maybe obama is not a legit 6'1.

Perhaps Curry should be downgraded by half an inch?
Canson said on 5/Jan/16
Rob does use the predraft that for reference. But I have to also agree that some of the measurements are off there too. There have been cases where they have blatantly moved a shoe measurement to barefoot and added for shoes later very sneakily. But for Rob's purposes he is correct in listing the way he does because these numbers are more official than others and none of us in public not behind the scenes will know who was fudged without seeing them and being nearly the same height. Also with morning height out of bed and the knowledge that it isn't used universally outside the NBA we also have doubts
Canson said on 5/Jan/16
@Sportsheight: good info here!!! It kinda explains a lot of these measurements. I bet even on top of this that they may fudge 1/4" for some as well
Canson said on 5/Jan/16

Rob, this article on DraftExpress might be of interest to you:

It seems as if there may have been a switch at the 2009 Draft Combine to an early-morning height measurement system (the year Curry and Blake Griffin were drafted, among others). In fact, the writer seems to be explicitly suggesting that there was a change. He cites three players who declared for the Draft in 2008 and went through the process, but decided to return to school for another year. They all came back through in 2009 and measured a half-inch or so taller (all three were around 20 years old). Considering all this, do you think it's fair to subtract 0.25-0.75 inches from the measurements of NBA players who were drafted in 2009 or later?
Editor Rob
to get afternoon heights you could definitely argue between 1/4 - 1/2 inch from these listings.
EzioAuditore711 said on 1/Jan/16
Some basketball shoes give 2 inches. Like my Adidas Howard Light pair.
Chris said on 31/Dec/15
Rob Shouldn't he be at least 189cm? He was measured 191cm with his shoes on, for the rest of the NBA players you have on your cite, you only minus 2cm from their measured height with shoes on. 189cm would seem more likely, don't you think? After than can still be considered "6'2"
Editor Rob
there's a lot of variety with nba heights with shoes/without, ranging from 0.75 up to 1.5 range.
EzioAuditore711 said on 30/Dec/15
I measure 6'6'' in the morning. During the day I'm 6'5.5''. I claim that.
Duhon said on 29/Dec/15
I don't know what time he was measured but people have to understand teams have a vested interest to know the true barefoot heights of players during the time of the draft as a player who comes out shorter than expected out of shoes, that could affect their draft status as team's might be less willing to sign that player. It's the in-shoe heights that get exaggerated, once a player is signed to a team and the team lists the height they would like, often (but actually not always) the in-shoe height.
Canson said on 29/Dec/15
EzioAuditore: Def morning probably almost out of bed like Blake Griffin. I agree after seeing his father in person that he def isn't 6'2 with the diff they have between them. Of course, Nothing wrong with out of bed and that's how the NBA rolls. But for us common people who go to the doctor a bit later, if you can't reproduce that measurement later in the day or close to it, it isn't your true height. Guess I'm a bit more honest like a lot of the people on this site when it comes to height since I stand to gain nothing lying about it or claiming more than I am.
Lol, I firmly believe that if you or I stood next to him that we would look a full 6'6 and 6'5 respectively before he looks 6'2 even tho we are both Weak or even strong 6'5 or 6'4 respectively. Do you measure the weak 6'6 in the morning or afternoon?
