How tall was Superstar Billy Graham

Superstar Billy Graham's Height

6ft 4 (193 cm)

Wayne Coleman was an American wrestler. His friend Steve Strong said he was a "Ridiculous specimen. I think he was six-four, and weighed 285. You had people coming from far and wide just to observe him." Graham himself said in 2007 "Because of spinal erosion, I'm about four inches shorter than I was at the height of my career. Occasionally I forget that I used to be six-foot-four."

I would agree. 6'2.5 range peak IMO would be a fair compromise.

He was certainly dwarfed by Hogan in the late 80's and both had cowboy boots on. Hogan was almost looking over the top of his head in a 1987 award ceremony.
RP said on 5/Jun/23
He was was only a “weak” 6’4” in footwear. Peak he was 6’2.5” to 6’2.75” barefoot. By 1985 he was only 6’1”. He eventually shrank down to about 5’11.5”.
Miko’s pic he posted with Superstar , Vince JR, Serge Nubret & Steve Reeves shows 100% that he needs an immediate down grade.
JT said on 27/May/23
That's correct, miko. Graham was a little taller than Vince and probably around 6'2"ish peak.

Graham used to live in my neighborhood in LA in the late 1980s-early 1990s. I saw him several times, including in the market, and he was no more than 6'1" at that point but still very large and intimidating-looking.
miko said on 23/May/23
Rob, Billy Graham next to Vince McMahon in 1978. Graham was 35 at that point.

I think we can rule out 6'4, he never looked that tall, even 6'3 at his peak is the absolute limit.

Losing a few people these last couple of days...RIP Superstar

I agree with Berta, 6ft3½ zone peak could've been closer. 6ft4 morning but would've been edged by Billy Gunn, DDP and Randy Orton

He definitely looked over 6ft3 in the 70’s. But the full 6ft4? In the morning perhaps. I agree with berta

6-3 max peak or just under. . To lose 4.5 inches you’d have look like a cripple now. I’d say he’s lost 3” max
ChaosControl 6'2.5/189.2cm said on 29/Apr/21
6’2.5 down to 5’11.75 I can see. Guys my height are often described 6’4, especially in wrestling
Canson said on 11/Apr/21
I doubt he’s really lost 4.5”. I agree with Rampage and Junior prob 6’3 peak and I’d be stands straight maybe still 6’0” or just under
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 24/Mar/21
Looked more 6ft3 range in his prime....he may still measure 6ft

I think 4-5in is exaggerated....
Chris Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 24/Dec/20
No way he lost 4.5". Give him a round up 6'3 peak as generous and maybe still measure 5'11 3/4 when stand tall for a measurement by Big Rob.

I doubt he was ever 6’4 peak

@berta

Think about it, nearly all wrestlers have their heights exaggerated. If Graham was really 6'4", he would've been listed at least 6'5" by whichever promotion he was in, but he wasn't.
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 8/Oct/18
6'3" at the very most for his peak, but there's even a better chance that he was under it.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 6/Oct/18
Rob, are you sure this guy was a true 6ft4?

I don't doubt for a second that he's lost a lot of height but over 4in!
Editor Rob
Well you could make an argument for 6ft 3-3.5 peak.
berta said on 6/Oct/18
hm i just looked at photo of him and arnold. If arnold stood straight i think there would have been 7 cm beetween them. I think arnold was 186 guy peak not 187. Billy have shoes that gives maybe almost 2 cm. That means he was really 5 cm taller than arnold barefoot. And that puts him at 191 and f arnold really was 187 then he was 192.
berta said on 6/Oct/18
Rob i must agree with christiain on this one. I dont think he was just 189 peak but i just cant see him over 191 cm peak. I think he went with out of bed height in that claim and was really "just" a legit 191 guy
RoelC said on 6/Oct/18
Vegas, I think you're referring to this pic of Graham & Keirn
Picture is a little bit tilted in Keirn's favour, but I agree that Graham looks ~6'2" there.

Can't remember from which wrestling mag I got this picture, but they listed Graham at 6'2"
Not sure if he was actually ever billed at that height though.

Graham was listed 6'4" when he played football.

As for Graham & Schwarzenegger, this is what Graham had to say about Schwarzenegger's peak height

I personally don't believe Graham lost over 4 inches in height. Now if he was a legit 6'4" in his prime he might've lost 4+ inches, but I don't think he was ever that tall to begin with. He looked around 1-1.5" taller than Vince McMahon (who I don't think is anything over 6'1") in the 70's and they looked roughly the same height here. If I recall correctly that video still is from around 2003 or maybe a little earlier.

Standing next to his friend Bill Anderson, I don't see any height loss between the years 2002 and 2011.

His health obviously deteriorated after 2011, so he might've lost some more height in recent years, but I don't believe it's anything more than 2.5 to 3 inches.
Christian 6'5 3/8 said on 3/Oct/18
A 6'4" peak for Graham is too much. You can't convince me that he lost 4.5" in height, when he seems to be healthier than Hogan, who supposedly lost 3". RP could be right that Graham was more 6'2.5" range.
Editor Rob
He said he had spinal erosion and ankle disintegration. Big bone density loss and vertebrae problems.

What would that make prime Arnold then ? Have you seen their pic together??
:x
---------------

Arnold is not standing anywhere near straight and also barefoot so photo is really pointless to estimate height. Arnold peak was around Vince McMahon Jrs height and the videos of Graham and Vince show maybe 1-1.5 inch difference between the 2 during the 70s.

There was an excellent photo of former wrestler Steve Keirn (~5'11) and Graham from the 70s online that I can't seem to locate now where Graham looked 6'2..both men standing straight, similar footwear
RP said on 1/Oct/18
Rob, Superstar was max 6’2.75” peak barefoot. If not more like 6’2.5” ! This needs corrected ASAP!
miko said on 1/Oct/18
This is probably the best photo we have of the 2 where Arnold isn't badly hunched over.

He's still not standing great but we can see that they would be fairly close in height. With Graham maybe an inch taller, both at prime height.

I did think at first weak 6'3 peak for Graham but I'm thinking somewhere between 6'2/6'2.5 now from pictures I've seen.

Sorry but I'm not buying a 6'4" peak for him. 5'11.5" could've been accurate in 2012 when he met Tyson, but I don't know if he'd lost more height since then.
Zampo said on 27/Sep/18
I'm not sure if Billy Graham was ever 6'4 (think this was his WWE billed height). I thought he was more a 6'3 guy in his prime but I'm not really sure. On him with Tyson in that video, there is around a 3 cm (4 cm max) difference in Graham's favour which puts him at roughly his current listing.
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 26/Sep/18
@Danimal

Billy was clearly taller. You probably just saw a few seconds of the clip where they looked the same height, and not the whole.

One of top 3 I believe, Mick Mars is another who has Spondylitis, which effected him over 4 inches.

Graham was never 6'4". He lived a few blocks from me back in the late 1980s and was maybe 6'1" by that point. The most I could give him is 6'2" peak.

One of top 3 I believe, Mick Mars is another who has Spondylitis, which effected him over 4 inches.

Graham also mentioned how his ankle was in a terrible state, and that might have been an inch lost there (much like Prowse lost height in ankles too).
miko said on 24/Sep/18
Never looked 6'4, more 6'2.5/6'3 range, wasn't that much taller than McMahon when he was in his early 30's (prime).

In 1987 a 6'5 peak Hogan made him look 6 foot flat and had an easy 5 inches on him.

What a staggering loss of height over 10cm ! Other than one of the actors who played darth vader i believe who lost near 6 inches he has one of the greatest losses of height of anyone on this site, How common is this Rob? and would you say its more common in very tall people?
Editor Rob
If you have multiple disc problems and other joints disintegrating (like ankles in Graham's and Prowse case), that is going to be a big amount of height.
Connor Simpson said on 23/Sep/18
Wow so he used to be 6'4 now he's 5'11.5? that's 4.5 inches, that's a very big shrinkage rob, I didn't think it would be even remotely possible for someone at 6'4 to shrink to slightly under 6'0, that is extreme.

How did he end up shrinking that much?
Mincer said on 23/Sep/18
That's some insane height loss. Rob, it seems to me wrestlers on average loose most height than any other profession in entertainment do you agree?
Editor Rob
It's a business that puts big strains on joints.

Plus, if any wrestler were to take substances, that might be a contributing factor to issues.
