How tall was Tamara Dobson

I admit that my height was a problem when I was a little girl, you know, you want to be short like all the other girls. But all of my family is tall; I have a sister, 18 years old; she is 6'2". My mother is 5'9". My dad is also 6'2"...so far, my height has been an asset in my career as well as my life. In my family, we have this thing we always go through, 'You gotta walk as tall as you can'."

Look, I can't cut myself off at the knees. My height is fixed, but other factors are not. Writers are imaginative people...There are tall actors - John Wayne, Anthony Quinn, Jimmy Stewart, Clint Eastwood, Rock Hudson. And the day has fortunately passed when all black actresses have to play whores or mammies or upstairs maids.

Yes, I’m 6 feet 2 inches and still growing. It’s a height that is intimidating to most men. It’s hard for them to accept. One reason for this is that they are just so used to looking down on women- in more ways than one, so their are egos are sensitive to taller women. But- hey!- I can’t get any shorter. They’ll just have to learn how to accept it.
