idk. Could have been a weak 172 cm at peak. I would say he is around 171 these days if that.

I find it funny as hell how google has Tom Cruise at 5'7", and you also have Bow Wow at 5'7". No wonder everyone thinks 5'7" is short. If his height is actually what is listed here, Cruise is definitely not what I'd call short, just below average. Everyone takes a shot at Cruise for being so short which is stupid. I think it's just a case of Cruise constantly taking pictures with women taller than him (with heels) which makes him look short.

Editor Rob
He still holds up well in films, look at Never Go Back (well, don't look too much...it's not that good) but with a guy like Aldis Hodge or Cobie Smulders, he just doesn't look a short guy.

I don't believe Cruise is taller than Downey, but they could be the same height. @Pierre: Glad we agree on that. That event is one of the best for determining Tom's real height. Aside from Katie, I think there might be a few decent pics to compare Tom to McConaughey and Stiller. His shoes often looked pretty normal promoting Lions for Lambs too, but he may have worn small lifts then.

@Rising =I agree with you Rising his shoes in this event"Tropic Thunder Premiere" were looking very classic and flat,i think if he had a gain with this, it was not a big gain.
Rising - 174 cm said on 20/Sep/18
Tom does seem like he's always wearing elevators/thick boots these days and since at least 2010, but it wasn't that uncommon to see him with normal shoes for much of the 2000's with the most striking example being the Converse-type sneakers he wore to the Tropic Thunder premiere with Katie in 3" heels. Sly wore elevator boots or those thick Hogan sneakers(which come with 2 cm insoles) almost 24/7 from 2003-2008, but actually wore normal shoes often from 2009 through early 2017 and had been wearing low cut dress shoes to every event for 2+ years before he conspicuously began wearing lifts to most events again the past year. I was surprised to see Banderas in flat, low cut shoes a few years ago, but even when he doesn't have his obviously big heels, his shoes often have an angle, are higher in the back or have a bit extra heel. Pitt will spend thousands on a pair of boots, but if he's the constant lift wearer many on this forum think then he's much better at hiding it than these other guys.

Allie, these guys NEVER wear regular shoes on events, believe me. If there are cameras, be sure they are on special shoes lifts boots etc. It’s part of their job. And I’m talking about guys like Tom, Brad, Banderas, Sly, etc
Custom elevators are hard to detect and they look like regular shoes, that’s why they are so expensive, hello!
Rising - 174 cm said on 17/Sep/18
@Allie: No problem. That style of elevator can be difficult to spot from some angles. In fact, Tom fooled me at the Rogue Nation NY premiere. I thought he had normal shoes until I saw them from the side. Tom would actually wear normal shoes during the early years of his marriage to Katie, but it's been a while since I've seen him at an event or on a talk show without elevators or a thick boot of some kind.
Pierre said on 17/Sep/18
If Big Jay has seen him the same height as himself, with the emotion,Tom's generous hairs....,i think he was probably one hair shorter than Big Jay, and was probably wearing shoes a little bit sophisticated. Probably a little bit under 5"7' barefoot, around 5"6'range,i see him around this height. Not very important, you can stand at 5"6' or 5"3' or ... by looking beautiful and charismatic as him.

@ Alex B - Thanks! On further inspection I think that Alicia A is probably 5'7 range (and 5'8 at the absolute very most) and not near the 5'11 or 5'9.5-10.5 listings I've seen.
@Rising - 174 cm - I suspected Tom was wearing more elevated shoes, but I also just shrugged it off and assumed that it was just normal dress shoes. Thanks for telling me that!
Rising - 174 cm said on 11/Sep/18
@Allie: Tom is wearing elevators to that premiere:
Click Here Look at the angle at the laces. You often have to see a 1.8"-2" elevator from the side to tell, but there's more room for his foot than a normal dress shoe. It's unmistakable from the right angle once you know what to look for. Even so, as Dmeyer said, they're not huge.

rising 174 vey interesting quote it is clear tom look about 5 ft 8.5-9in with 5 ft 11-11.25 leo while his shoes with the angle you showed will give at max 2 in as the outside heels isnt so big and there isnt room for more than 1 in lifts that give no more than 0.6-0.65 in in reality so very likely give just 1.7 in total yet he looks aleast 176-176.5cm shoes on so has to be not far off 5 ft 8 , also cruise has pulled off 5 ft 10 shoes in some bigger elevator 2.25 in types, i met jamie and he is defenetly solid 5 ft 9 in
Rising - 174 cm said on 4/Sep/18
@Junior: Tom can't be 5'7" flat if Jamie Foxx is anywhere near the 5'9.6" you give him:
Click Here Click Here Click Here Tom's shoes even look normal:
Click Here Click Here If he did have lifts, they'd be far too small to make a 2.6" difference between Tom and Jamie possible. Remember, this was 2004 and it wasn't unheard of for Tom to wear normal shoes to events at that time. You can see how short Tom looked that same night with solid 5'11" Bruce Willis with a camera disadvantage, but better posture:
Click Here You can also see how much taller Tom can look with another solid 5'11" man in 2016:
Click Here And you can see he did have a roughly 2" elevator that night:
Click Here If Jamie is even 176 then I can't see Tom less than the 172 Rob gives him.
@Brad: Tom didn't look 2" taller than Glenn. More 1", maybe 1.5" tops.

I stood next to him at a charity beach event on solid ground. We were both wearing flip flops of identicle 1" sole. I am exactly 5'8.25 and we were eye to eye while just about everyone else was taller than us. I did notice he leans when he stands which can give the impression of being smaller by a few inches.

Tom Cruise is a 5'7 actor who looks 5'10. Why? Because he's an actor!
Rising - 174 cm said on 30/Aug/18
@Dmeyer: I agree. He wears elevators that add around 5 cm a lot, but occasionally elevator boots around 2010-2013 that may have been pushing 6 cm:
Click Here Click Here He might have measured 177 in them or at least close and I'd think they're around 2.3". He also wore some clunky 90's boots with Nicole Kidman and probably had an extra lift in them at times.
@Peter: Cruise gives a pretty average 5'8" appearance more than a short 5'7" impression with the exception of a few early films and 80's photos, but I'd be more surprised if he measured a flat 5'7" too. As I've said before, the Tropic Thunder premiere is one of the best events to judge Tom's barefoot height since he has sneakers about as thin as Converse.
Click Here Click Here Click Here Katie's heels don't really seem to have a platform and aren't sky high, but I'd think a decent ladies heel like that should give her a good 2" footwear advantage over Tom's 0.6"-0.7" shoes so the figures the media used of 5'7" for Tom and 5'9" for Katie are very unlikely since she doesn't look 4" taller to me. I think she could be 5'8.5" since she's claimed both 5'8" and 5'9", but she may not be much more than an inch taller than Tom judging by how she looked in sandals with Tom barefoot.

@CDS: That was my first thought too. Baldwin has a pretty healthy ego and might have wanted to make sure Cruise didn't look artificially close to his height. Sort of like Michael Caine mentioning people thought he was short because Liz Taylor was on a box for their scenes. But Baldwin did that with Jeremy Renner too and I don't think Renner was wearing lifts and he was doing it in photos with his wife too and she's not particularly tall. And yeah, Alec has always been about 5'11" rather than the 6 feet he wants people to believe he is, though I don't recall seeing him with suspect shoes. I think Hanks was close to 6', but is now in that 5'11"-5'11.5" range. I don't think Alec has lost more than maybe a small fraction. He was only slightly taller than Orlando Bloom in his mid 40's and maybe an inch taller than Kevin Bacon back in the 80's.

@rising: that's crazy, I wonder if Baldwin notices someone like cruise wearing lifts, so he tip toes to compensate?? He must be height conscious too, must wear lifts himself. How else did he pull off looking an inch taller than tom hanks on that episode of Saturday night live a few yrs ago?? While I wouldn't say hanks is a solid 6', I'd still give him from 5'11" to 5'11.5", be Baldwin only 5'10.5" to 5'11", not sure either one has lost any height?
cmillzz said on 18/Aug/18
He doesn’t give off a short impression at all to me. Maybe it’s his lifts though LOL. I’m not really sure on his height, so I’ll have to go with Rob’s listing I guess, but there is a tangible possibility that it could be under this.

Rising - 174 cm said on 17/Aug/18
I'd say 172 max, but 171 minimum so the 5'7" flat and 5'8" stuff are both wrong, imo. He's taller than someone like Michael Pena, but shorter than Sean Penn and Jeremy Renner. He typically looks about 174 when he wears lifts, but you can put him at basically the same height as Lewis Hamilton, Spielberg and Bruckheimer without them.
@Hijo: I only saw Oprah say Pitt was 6 feet, but I've never seen Brad say it himself. I've seen others claim that, though and I remember one poster saying Pitt even claimed 6'1" on Oprah. He's also supposed to have claimed 6 feet in commentary for Fight Club. But every time I've tried to check this stuff I've never found it, though I'm impatient and will sometimes skim through. I'd be surprised if either Cruise or Pitt got measured on TV. And yeah, Letterman doesn't hesitate to make his guests uncomfortable lol.
@CDS: I do want to see the new one as it looked good. Tom generally pulls off looking average to me in those films, especially from the 2nd one on. And yeah, Baldwin has always been about 5'11", but the funny thing was seeing him at the Rogue Nation premiere tip-toeing in pictures with Tom:
Click Here He did the same thing with Jeremy Renner too. Don't know why as he's easily taller than both. Cruise would wear lifts in the films, but not when doing stunts. Michael Douglas wore boots with obvious lifts for some scenes in Basic Instinct yet there's a photo of his stuntman jumping out of the way of the car and he's supposed to be dressed the same yet clearly has flat sneakers instead of the boots Douglas wore. Generally, doing stunts in lifts is probably not advisable lol.

But then, when he's around 6' Henry cavill, he appears 3 or even 4 inches shorter at times?? I assume cruise is "lifting" in this, except if course in the action/stunt scenes?

@CDS: Well most I've seen mentioned it assumed Letterman was talking about height. He could have meant both, but it'd be odd for Letterman to just make fun of Pitt's build as he was a fit guy regardless and far more women preferred Pitt's build to Letterman's build! That'd be weird since most were referring to Pitt as tall by that time, but who knows? As I've said, I'm far from convinced of Pitt being height-obsessed and a lift wearer, but he's often worn boots going back to the early/mid 90's so I find myself saying once again who knows? And Letterman was certainly the guy to call McConaughey out! He never worried about making his guests feel comfortable to say the least! I'd love to see Jeremy Piven try his 5'10" claim with Letterman. My grandfather always use to say he was 5'11.75" and if you'd say "so you're 6 feet then", he'd say "Nope. five eleven and three quarters." The difference is, he actually did look that height.
And I agree with Rob that Cruise doesn't look to have lost much, if anything. He's at an age where it's possible, but not inevitable regardless of stunts, especially since shorter men tend to lose less. Cruise is fit and has excellent posture, plus he certainly doesn't look shorter than he did in Losin' It or even A Few Good Men. Height loss should be determined by how someone looks and while Tom's elevator shoes make it more difficult, he's a good 10 years before you assume he must have lost something.
Lapinux said on 14/Aug/18

CDS said on 12/Aug/18
I realize this is more Pitt related than cruise related, but is it possible that letterman was referring to Pitt being thin, not his height?😂 as for mcconaughey, yes it was awkward, just funny someone finally called him out on it...if you're saying you're 5'11.75", you're saying you're SIX FEET!??😂😂
grizz said on 11/Aug/18

Rising - 174 cm said on 10/Aug/18
@CDS: I think Letterman said it about Pitt to Julia Roberts when Julia was promoting the film. The McConaughey thing was awkward lol. Letterman making the face and interrupting him with "five ten!" while Matthew pretended he didn't hear it, but got quieter and said "never been 6 feet." He's actually said that exact quote for years. There's an interview he did for U-571 where he makes a point of saying he's "5-11 3/4, not 6 feet." At least he's consistent lol.
CDS said on 9/Aug/18

I've seen Cruise and Katie barefoot at the beach back when she was pregnant. I don't know what Pitt would or wouldn't do, but it's possible things like Letterman calling him tiny when The Mexican came out and Kelly Brook calling him short have made him height conscious. Sometimes he's worn normal shoes to events like the Okja NY premiere, but he seems to favor heeled boots. If he wears internal lifts often then he hides them well or they're small enough to remain subtle.

If he is that insecure, it's just odd to me he'd wear normal dress shoes promoting that film on Conan's show no less. Would being barefoot reveal much more than low cut shoes with no socks like this?:
Click Here Pitt might very well be as height conscious as you and others think, but if anything, I find it much more strange we haven't seen a height claim from Pitt since 1987. Though Tom's last known claim is '88 and it's even been alleged interviewers agree not to ask him about his height as a condition of interviewing him. I do believe Tom's only issue with height is due to the press and his image and I could imagine him not caring in private.
@Arch: Which part of the video are you talking about? They look pretty close to me in general. I don't think Tom looked taller in the 80's than he does now seeing him back then with Robin Williams, Frank Sinatra and Robert Duvall or in early films like Losin' It and even A Few Good Men where you could say he looks around 5'7" with Kevin Bacon. I think you could always argue he was no taller than Lewis Hamilton, Spielberg and even Bruckheimer. He's an age where height loss could go either way.

Tom has worn outright elevators and lifts much more than Pitt who prefers boots with heels a bit bigger than typical or about 1.5" on average and near 2" on occasion. Tom has been more height conscious the last decade and was during his marriage to Nicole and transition to more of an action star. He did surprisingly wear only 1.5 to 2 cm sneakers to the Tropic Thunder premiere even with Katie in at least 8 cm heels and you can see him liftless for films like A Few Good Men, but he also wore cowboy boots in the early 90's and Cuban heels in The Color of Money. Ironically, Tom wore lifts in Interview with the Vampire specifically so he wouldn't look short next to Pitt.

In Tom's case, I didn't mean anything other than he's not that short. With that said, most people do consider being taller more desirable except for abnormally tall. The way the press treats Tom is proof of this and the fact Tom claimed to be 5'9" and wears lifts shows he would like to be taller. Of course, this depends on your build, proportions etc. While I'd generally like to be 6'2" or at least 6'0", I'm currently too thin to look good above 5'10" so I'd need to bulk up.
Pierre said on 13/Jul/18

Devil said on 8/Jul/18
Tom is not so small but he's just not tall enough to be a 5'8 guy,so that means short legs and 169cm tall for exactly to be precise or one hundred %, that's 100%. That's 100% the truth. Trust me ladies and gentlemen.
Rising - 174 cm said on 5/Jul/18
Yeah, he generally looks a decent height. I still think he's about 5'7.5" or 171 cm minimum and 172 cm max. I don't understand the height loss speculation either. It's not like you could see 1/4" loss anyway and frankly, he could look shorter in the 80's and early 90's than he often does today. It should suffice to say he doesn't look to have lost noticeable height. Look at him with a 5'10" Kevin Bacon in A Few Good Men for one example or another example would be Tom looking slightly shorter than 5'8" Sean Penn in Taps. Nowadays, he can look 174 cm, maybe 175 cm with good posture and lifts.
KH said on 4/Jul/18
Enough with the hate. Cruise is clearly taller then a lot of guys in the weak 5'7 range. All those women in the pictures are tall and in some kind of heel. Thats how he got the reputation for being really short dating Nicole Kidman. He then followed it up by dating other tall women. Cruise holds his own with guys in the 5'9-5'10 range without looking tiny.

Robby Harris said on 1/Jul/18
I'm absolutely certain he's taller than just a flat 5'7". I wouldn't go below 171 cm, simply because he can often look a decent 5'8" range in footwear that doesn't look to hold much of a lift, if any. A 172 cm guy would likely hit 174 cm in the morning...perhaps his claim was a morning height rounded up, which is obviously unacceptable by Celebheights standards :-)

if he is really 1.72 that's not short. I don't get it why some of you call him short. You know what? take out a ruler and put it against the wall, then mark 1.72. See? It's not that short, its pretty decent. Most of you have never measured yourselves the proper way and you think you are taller than what you really are. I know a lot of people who think that they are 1.80 and when they get measured correctly it comes out that they are 1.76-7

If you guys can't clearly see in these pics of him with his women that he is wearing lift and that his footwear is suspect you def need glasses. Katie at 5'9 plus 2.5" inch heels brings her to 5'11.5" ,tom is 2.5 shorter that brings him to 5'9....but he is wearing 1.75" custom shoes. He ALWAYS wears cuatomized footwear to gain height. Look at the arch or top of his foot it follows an unatural height. So with all that tom is no taller than 5'7 1/4"
Christian-6'5 3/8" said on 22/Apr/18
@5'9 dude
I think a big reason he's portrayed as short is because he dated/married taller women in the past. Similar to Mick Jagger and Rod Stewart.
Isaac Hamilton said on 21/Apr/18
No shorter than 5ft 8. He is just the most popular "short" actor in Hollywood and everyone started to bring Tom as an example of a short hollywood actor. He a little on the short side but comon how could lifts get him up to Brad Pitts height in the early 2000s. Lifts could gain him a max of 6cm and for him to reach Brad Pitts height with shoes on he has to be around 172-173cm barefeet.
5'9 dude said on 20/Apr/18
@JB, I completely agree , I think 172 area is still within a sort of average range I guess , but because it is under the actual average height in America , articles and media would poke fun at it ,because they can't poke fun at anything else and obviously the fact he's a massive Hollywood actor.

Correct. Here he is with Cameron Diaz. Barefoot I think Cruise would be a smidge taller. He's wearing a 2 inch boot taking his height close to 5'10, whereas she is wearing a shoe that would give her 3 inches. Hence, Cruise is slightly shorter. No mystery, but the press can't get their heads round it. They have brainwashed themselves.

JB said on 31/Mar/18
5'8" is still an average height, although it's at the lower end of it. That being said, I think Cruise is a solid 5'7", but not that close to 5'8". Maybe out of bed, but not by midday. He's probably a little over 5'7". If he wears a pair of shoes with even an inch of heel, he can give off an average height look, which is how so many people are baffled by how much taller he looks in person. Really there's no mystery.
He's not super short, but short enough that the media decided it was the one thing they could make fun of him for. So, of course, his shortness has been exaggerated over the years.

Isn't 5ft 7in quite a common male height - approximately at the 20th percentile so that means one in five men are that height or shorter? That's a lot of men if you apply it to a population of several million. 5ft 6in is at the 1Oth percentile and 5ft 5in is at the 5th percentile. An adult male is considered to be short stature if he's less than 5ft 5in. I have obtained this information from medical websites featuring height percentile calculators. I think a lot of people forget that with any average adult height for any given country, 50% of adults are below average height, but most are still considered to be within the normal adult RANGE. I think some people like to make shorter people feel like they're somehow abnormal when they're not. Tom is shorter than average but not unusually so.

It varies. If you watch The Firm, he can look more than an inch shorter than 5'9" Ed Harris when they're walking side by side, but if Gene Hackman was still around 6'2" then they make Tom look about 5'9" with him as Hackman never looks more than 5" taller. But then in Jack Reacher, I think he was looking taller than 5'8" Rosamund Pike, or at least as tall. I don't quite remember the difference with Emily Blunt, though in Edge of Tomorrow.
I think he and Spielberg were the same:
Click Here Same with Lewis Hamilton:
Tom dropping a bit of height with his stance with Spielberg and the ground advantage for Hamilton in the first pic makes him look a bit shorter, but all things being equal, I think they'd be indistinguishable. Same with a prime Jerry Bruckheimer in equal footwear, but Tom can easily look average height on screen. He just doesn't have the proportions of a man 5'7" flat or less. 171 cm minimum.

Hey Rob, how many inches difference do you see here?

Height aside, this has to be the best picture ever taken of a man. He was always very good looking and his charisma made him the star he is. I'd take Tom Cruise's height(which isn't even bad, he was probably 30-40 percentile in the 80s) if I had his face.

Editor Rob
he's only a couple of inches shy of Pitt there...
it will be interesting to see how Tom's career goes over next 10 years. Many actors can continue action-thriller roles well into their 60's these days and make it believable, Tom still has the benefit of looking at least 5 years younger than he really is.

@6footTom I agree 100% of course compared to the general us average, which is 5'9"-5'9.5" range he is more shortish, but still on the shorter side.
Darius said on 2/Jan/18
@andre:
No. Thats 100% impossible with all the prevailing evidences unless Tom has some high tech hidden 5 inch lifts LOL.
Even with all the room for doubt, I would give Tom Cruise min 5'7" and Max 5'7.5". Imo, Likely right on 171cm.
I think 172cm can be ruled out. Can we all agree on that or not?:)

All these celebs... every single one scrutinised over their height is literally a mission impossible ! .. 😉 to know for sure
Unless you can get Tom for example on a Stadiometer to record his correct height without footwear? It's always going to be unknown. Lifts, heels etc are always going to be worn by these smaller guys ... and really why not. The average person probably most of the time round their height up to another inch anyway.... just as do with their weight. Tom Cruise has done very well for a 5.6 -5.7 guy and proves one point perfectly. Short arses are usually much better looking guys too ! Elvis Presley excluded 😀👍🏻

Cruise is now 55 years old, I'm pretty sure he has lost quite a bit of height by now. My current guess is somewhere between 170cm-171cm. Give it 5-10 years and he'll dip below 170cm, no doubt.

The funny thing is is that there's plenty of actors that are the same height or shorter than him that don't even get a fraction of the flack for their small stature that he does.
I honestly think it's just a combination of things that result in Tom's case. He's a handsome, leading man, action-type star that people expect to be taller than 5'7"/5'8". This has resulted in people having a perception that he's much shorter than he really is.
ALEXANDRE ALVES BR said on 26/Nov/17
Sincerely, Tom Cruise is too insecure with his height, it's ridiculous he's not even really short (under 5'7) ... I think he's 5'7-5 '7.25 no more.

@James B Either you are taller than you think, or you are a poor judge of height. Gaffney is actually taller than 5'5", go to his page; as Parker pointed out, he downgraded himself.

Tom Cruise have been barefoot in public so many times, no problem. He wears lifts and elevators, true, like everyone else BUT he doesn’t have height complex as Brad Pitt who we will never see barefoot besides anyone, not even on the beach.
James B said on 9/Nov/17
Any male actor who's below 6ft lies about their height.
Dean Gaffney (Eastenders) says he's 5ft 5 and he's maybe 5ft 4 on a good day. I met him in 2001 at the age of 20. I'm just over 5ft 8 and was at least 4 inches taller. Ryan Thomas (Coronation Street) says he's 5ft 9 but he's good inch shorter than me. I also met him in 2001.
Cruise appears 5ft 9 at times but there's no doubt he'll be wearing lifts of some description. It's not difficult.
My former boss and CEO who was just under 5ft 7 would routinely wear lifts making him 5ft 10 when going on client/business development visits.
ALEXANDRE ALVES BR said on 8/Nov/17
I think if he was really 5'7.75 he would not be so complex ... 5'7 and nothing more, 5'7.25 at the most.

5"7' isn't really very short= it's only about a forehead shorter than a real 5"11' guy;and a little less than a forehead when the 5"11' guy wear flat shoes and the 5"7' guy wear comfortable classic heels;and there is not good heights and bad heights=tall women or men have some advantages and small men or women have others advantages.

Vam said on 6/Nov/17
He is 172 cm, now that he is getting old he may gradually lose height but he still measures 171.2cm, I do not understand people who say that he is under 170cm that is impossible, it must be bad enough to calculate the stature as to assure that, watch him dezcalso in top gun next to Anthony (188cm), barefoot next to Katie Holmes175cm or in photos of the 90s with his ex-wife Kidaman (179cm) and he did not wear shoes to increase his height see it well I'm not a fan of Tom but the reality is that he is not short, when he really wears shoes to be taller he remains like 5 "10 NEVER looks less than 5" 7.5 so Rob has it at 172cm and on this site he tries to always say truth, the stature of this man is not a mystery.
Well, I respect the opinion of others, but I have seen evidence and I am sure.

Tom does not wear such a cheap make as chamiripa...now he might be wearing a customs dons Quiri midsole tech, I'm not saying he is, but he might have a special discount code too!
but on a serious note, always look at the amount of leather/material from the sole to the ankle point - that is a big giveaway on any dress shoes and if they are actual elevators like Tom's shoe it has to have more material to accomodate the 2cm of lift inside it...
James said on 5/Nov/17
Wow, I can't believe Americans are so tall and heightist that they constantly mock an almost 5'8 man for his height. Here in France 5'7.75 is spot on average. I'm glad I don't live in such a giant country like America. Apparently the average white man is 5'10.5 in America, which is almost the same as the Dutch.

@Sparky The average actually is a solid 5'10 if we limit it to white non-Hispanic American males, and a hair under 5'5 for white non-Hispanic American woman, so 5'4.9 or something of that nature.
But why would limit to white males? The US is only 62% white.

@Parker: I've not gotten a chance yet, but I'll be sure to pay attention to heights when I do. As for DiCaprio, Tom looks like he'd reach about 177 cm in what I'd guess are 2" elevator shoes if Leo is 6' in shoes, though this doesn't consider Leo's looser posture. Leo did look a weak 5'11" to me in a video with Obama last year, but he can look a stronger 5'11" at other times so I think 5'11" or Rob's 5'11.25" listing is fair meaning the 6' in shoes is likely conservative enough to even allow for Leo's looser posture to some extent. But look at Tom with Robin Williams. Now Robin is what a 5'7" max man actually looks like. In fact, that only makes me believe more that Robin could have been 5'6.5" in his prime and Cruise at least 5'7.5" as it's difficult for me to imagine there being less than an inch between those two.

Johnny Depp also a noticeable a lift wearer in hollywood, they input extra thick soles. But the question is how much their elevator shoes gives stay a myth. To me i see 5'7 for Tom Cruise as his peak height and agree 5'6.75" now as you thought too.
