If Preston was six-four, which seems likely, the Warner Brothers western stars were all quite tall. There is a photo of them all standing in line (Will Hutchins, Peter Brown, Jack Kelly, Ty Hardin, James Garner, John Russell and Preston) and Preston doesn't look especially tall in that company. So James Garner might have really been six foot three, as he liked to claim.
