He's listed at a modest 6'0 online, which given the fact that he looks 5'11 with Rob in his old age (Maybe could stretch up to 5'11.5 if he tried?) I absolutely believe he peaked at 6 ft and change.

Editor Rob
He shrunk another inch about 5 years after I met him, down to 5ft 10.

Wow, he looks a lot like American talk show host Bob Barker! Anyway, I'd guess this man as 5'10.5-5'11, from the picture with Rob. Btw, I consider Rob's height right between 5'8.25 and 5'8.5, based on videos I have seen of his self measurements. He is humble listing himself as a flat 5'8 in his pics with celebs.
Quis said on 18/Apr/22
He looks only three inches taller than Rob who is 5'11 1/8.

Peak and current necessary
183.5 peak
181-182 current

So William was cast with the first ever Doctor Who, William Hartnell, was he? I remember cowering behind the settee when I was watching that, because I found it so scary! Nowadays, I very much doubt it.....๐
I wonder if this programme is the culprit for my liking of scary movies in the years to come? ๐บ๐ณ
William can have 6 of these little chaps: ๐๐๐๐๐๐

@Christian: Rob usually also lists a celebrity at their peak height if they're retired, which I imagine is the case with William.
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 11/Jan/19
@Rob
His current height needs to be updated. I know you list only a peak height if a celeb's dead, but he's still alive.
World Citizen said on 19/Dec/18
Looks around 5 ft 11 with you.

He is under 6'0 with ROb no Doubt.

William Russell hold pretty well at 90 losing just 1/4. My grandfather older brother was 94 and he drop 3/4 from 6'2 down to 6'1 1/4 now and still holding good posture not much hunches when see him standing.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 4/Mar/18
Rob, if he was 90 in that photo with you (or close) and still roughly 5ft11 maybe itโs possible he was once closer to 6ft1?

Editor Rob
He never seemed closer to 6ft 1 in the 1960's, I think 6ft 0.5 is about the most he looked in that era.
Paul NS (6ft0.5) said on 7/Feb/18
Making it to your 90s and only losing a bit over an inch is quite lucky.

He might clear 5ft11 if he stood for a measurement today. Solid tall at peak and you can see where Alfred Enoch inherited his height

But I do agree he needs a peak and current listing.
Christian-6'5 3/8 said on 12/Oct/17
He doesn't look more than 5'11" here with you, Rob. You should add a current height for him so people won't get confused when they see the pic.

Editor Rob
well he was weak 5ft 11 range and around six foot peak, which is what he claimed.

William Russell's height is 6ft 0.5in (184 cm)
when I watched the series Doctor Who, thought he had 185 cm.
TJE said on 26/Jan/15
Why not have a peak and current listing him?

Editor Rob
he's I guess more retired so better just leaving his 60's height.
Dmeyer said on 1/Oct/14
Solid 5'11 he could stretch to 11.25

This guy's in great nick for 90 (can that be his right age?). Very good posture, and I can easily believe over 6' when younger (he looked tall in The Great Escape and Dr. Who). We need to find out William's secret for staying in such great shape :)
Having an attractive exotic Brazilian wife perhaps? (As I presume Alfred's mother is) He looks about the same age as my uncle who is 78 or 9.

Arch Stanton said on 26/Sep/14
He does look like he might scrape 5 ft 11 above if stood his best. At 89 years of age though on average he should have surely lost more than 1.5 inches? He does look in a very good shape for his age though. I'm pretty sure he could have been in 6ft 1 range if 5 '11 at 90.
Pedro said on 26/Sep/14
What do you estimate to be his peak height?

Editor Rob
well 184cm, today he looked about 5ft 11.
Arch Stanton said on 26/Sep/14
Rob, this guy is pushing 90, shouldn't you have a peak height and current? Or is 6'0.5" a peak guess and he's actually more 5'10 -5'11 currently but isn't active any more so you added the peak height?

Editor Rob
since he's not really active I think his peak was around 184, today about 1.5 inches smaller I think.
Tommo said on 26/Sep/14
Looks like with good posture he could be about 5'11 today.
Judd said on 26/Sep/14
today looks 5'11.5-75" but 6'0.5" peak is believable
