In my opinion, granger absolutely did not look 6ft in Rope with jimmy stewart. He looked close to 4 inches shorter. At least 3 1/2 inches shorter than 6'3 stewart. I think footwear must've been identical.

He actually also looks pretty tall with Raymond Massey, Lorenzo Lamas and can seem to edge, although they are quite similar height, Robert Walker at times in Strangers on a Train. It might be possible that Walker was more 5'11.5" since he also looked a couple inches shorter than 6'1.5" listed Joseph Cotten in Since You Went Away. In Rope stills though he looks six feet at most with John Dall and Stewart I thought. Also, he can look a little under what you'd expect with Shelley Winters and Alida Valli.

Probably similar height to someone like Christian Bale, 5'11.75" or 6'0" is arguable but he generally looks right on the six foot mark and often held great posture which helped him look on the tall side.
