The average guess isn't crazy at all, it seems pretty fair to what he actually shows up being, even though it isn't what he actually claims being his height. Overall he does look around 5'10" mark, but not too far from it. It wouldn't make much sense rounding him up as a 5'11"; instead, just a bit over 5'10" seems right. Barefoot, though, he'd be 5'9" and a fraction. Pretty good actor. Love how cool he is while playing Danny Ocean.

Where was that made mention? That’s crazy though, a man 8.3 cm difference (3.25 inch claim above actual height). I think the man knows he’s 5’11 and even accepted it with multiple claims.. though it’s fair to say Hollywood or any media will give you status to always somehow appear “taller.”

I'm fine with 5'10.25" peak. Aside from looking 3" shorter than 6'1.25" Holyfield in their 30s, a 45 year old Clooney was at least 2 cm shorter than 5'11" Bruce Willis in both their full pic and other pics. The average guess is kind of confusing because it may reflect guesses on both Clooney's current and peak height. He does not look over 5'10" to me the last 5 years.

It’s interesting Rob, how I and others consider most of the height listings on celebheights to be generous estimates (e.g. Clooney, Jean Paul Belmondo, Mathilda May, Lea Seydoux, Michael Caine, Don Adams etc), yet there are still entries I and others feel are rather under listed on here (e.g. Michael Lonsdale, Richard Sammel, Peter Bowles).

179cm peak is arguably for him, but that is his maximum, no shorter than 178cm in his peak too.
But nowadays I think he would struggle to look 178cm tho and would not be surprised if he is measured as a 177cm.

So I think 5'10.25 peak makes a lot of sense for him as the average guess, 5'9.75 nowadays.

In his early 40s, Clooney did not look a full inch taller than Matt Damon with both in socks: Click Here I doubt Damon is taller than 5'9.5" myself, but the difference here looks closer to half an inch than a full inch. It's also clear that Pitt was taller even taking into account his camera advantage and however much height his slippers add over socks. Similarly, Ving Rhames was taller than George Clooney back in Out of Sight. I have doubts Pitt and Rhames are a full 5'11", but even if they are, Clooney does not look as tall as listed.

I'll say this: It's easier for me to believe that he was closer to 5'10" before I believe that he was closer to 5'11". He's clearly more 5'10" in the photo above with Sandra Bullock in his early 50s and the photos with Matt Damon in socks did not show a near 5'11" man.

I'd say Ewan McGregor is closer to 5'9" than 5'10". Don't think he's quite as tall as 5'9.5".

he have looked 179-182 in his movies but in relatiy photos he maybe looked closer to 180 most of the time. He is clearly not only 178,4 like the average guess. I think he was exactly 180 cm at peak ( only problem is that brad pitt often pulled of 2 cm taller 15 years back. But Brad often look about 182 in photos). Today i dont think he will measure mutch over 179. There is something with his back that makes me think he have lost close to 1 cm.

@Slim, I am not soo sure about that exact range, that is near to an inch.

Brad's height is very tricky to put down due to his footwear. At times, he has alot of height on the likes of Clooney and Damon, then there are points where all three look within an inch of one another.

Damon himself, who is the shortest out the of three, can look within 1-inch of Pitt, with Clooney somewhere in between.

Damon and Clooney are fairly consistent with one another in terms of height, its essentially Mr Pitt whose height varies. I think Damon and Clooney are a bit more comfortable with thier respective heights when it comes to footwear, Pitt is not. This is why I am more often than not, highly sceptical of his height.

Pitt for me, is a weak-5'10 at best. By the looks of things, most of the height users have Damon in the 5'9-range because that falls within the 1-inch range difference I have for the two, this seems fairer but Mr Pitt, is no 5'11 nor a contender. I ain't being fooled by any footwear.

in the 5'9-range now but in terms of his height in relation to Brad Pitt, although some see it, I don't think he was any shorter than Pitt, I think thier heights were dead even its just Pitt's routine of wearing lifts makes him appear taller, I don't believe that.

Clooney is as tall as Pitt or at least was. Peak Clooney was also similar in height to Chris Rock. Rob has Rock listed 5'10 here. I believe he maybe more 5'9.5.

Viper is correct, you can maintain peak height at more than 60 years old. My father was the same height at age 60 as he was at 20, and he only started losing height during his 60s after developing a medical condition that severely affected his posture.

Clooney can look closer to 5'9" a lot now although I think he's a guy who would measure a bit taller than he looks. Here's Clooney over 5 years ago with Grant Heslov, who is listed as a solid 5'9" guy himself: tinyurl.com/1ew028te Note that Clooney has the better posture there and it's a good full pic yet he does not look over 5'10". 5 years later, I wouldn't rule out him falling a bit shy of 5'10" after seeing some of these 2017 and 2019 pics.

As for Crowe, it depends if the Bruckheimer story about lifts is true, imo. Crowe did look a bit shorter than Colbert on his show not too long ago, but I don't know if some of that is height loss due to his weight gain and age or if he was always that height.

@Slim: True, although I'd say McConaughey was the tallest of the three while Clooney had the worst chance of being over 5'10.5". All three likely claimed their height in shoes. On 6/Jan/21 I showed Clooney and McConaughey pictured together in 2013 and while Clooney had already lost some height by then, he also reportedly ordered elevators shoes from a company because he was dating Stacy Keibler. Either way, McConaughey definitely looked taller by then. Imo, like Clooney, Crowe has also lost some height by 2021.

Yeah, Clooney didn't seem much taller than Damon in socks - certainly not a full inch - and was closer to Damon than he was to Pitt in slippers. That was in 2004 so Clooney should have still been peak height at age 43.

@Slim: I agree. Though he was never above 5'10.5" to begin with. Here at 46 with a 49(basically 50) year old 5'8" Sharon Stone in heels: Click Here George was not taller at this event. If we call it even, then the footwear difference of 2.25", maybe 2.5" at the very most would be the barefoot height difference. I've seen some photos to suggest Stone was taller at that event when not bending her knees, but to be conservative, George would be 5'10.25"-5'10.5" with her. The photo with Willis in my last post is from a year earlier. He became more height conscious when he began dating Stacy Kiebler and was even reportedly a customer of an elevator shoe company. He's always been a fairly height aware guy despite his tendency to slouch, which he clearly tried to correct with Kiebler.

Clooney could only ever make 5ft 11 with very substantial lifts. I saw him in London and was shocked to see him only half an inch taller than me and I am 5ft 9. So 5ft 10 peak and there are many photos that confirm this. next to benedict cumberbatch he looks similar to how big josh looked next to from what I remember . but rob has put down the pics with big josh standing next to celebs . big josh is something like 178.3cm at night or something iirc and I saw a video in the past where josh measured his extreme low as around 178cm .

clooney looks only slightly less compared to josh but his posture his not fully straight . but even if clooney is slightly shorter than josh it means that clooney is still around 177.5 - 178cm at the time of the pic with benedict cumberbatch
