In today's episode of Classic Coronation Street, Curly has been told by Raquel that he's the father of her little girl, Alice. Of course he wants to start over with the mother of his child, but then he learns that she has someone else - a Frenchman. He's absolutely LIVID!

I'm still going for 6ft because that's what I see on Classic Coronation Street. He's a lot bossier than I remember him to be - a real turn-off!

Am I seeing straight? Surely not! Curly is stranded in the corner shop, and expected to man it as Maureen and her Mum are out on the town. For entertainment, he's having a game of chess with himself on a black and white patterned rag for a chess board, using booze bottles as the pieces. The Kings and Queens are big bottles of spirits and the pawns are miniatures, the contents of which he's downing.

Now it's episode number 2. I dread to think of the state he'll be in if he plays the game to an end....! 🤭

I remember standing and chatting with him watching a match in Barleycorn, Didsbury in early 90's. We were pretty much the same height then. I'm 1.81m.

Rob, there is a very clear picture which you can google of Kevin with, Malcolm Hebden, Patti Clare, Helen Flanagan, Ken Morley, and stood right beside Ryan Thomas who you have listed on here as 5’8.5” and looking an absolute max of 2” taller. So either he has lost a good bit of height (which I doubt as he’s only in his late 50’s), or he was never a full 6’ maybe 5’11”. Remember he was with smaller actors.

Arch, I thought this guy at least 6ft3! He could look very tall on Corrie...that's how short most the cast must have been...and it hasn't changed tbh. Tallest actor there now I think is also 6ft...

Haha, that's a face I've not seen in 20 years! Yeah that's what I meant before, there was a time when a flat 6 ft actor would have been the tallest actor in a soap. Nowadays it seems 6'3-4 actors are much more common.

@ Daycringeothon - I think he was certainly the tallest regular, and he definitely stood out a mile as the tallest at the time he starred in 'Coronation Street', beating the badly postured Charles Lawson, who played bad-tempered Jim MacDonald, by about a quarter to half-an-inch. He was one of those guys who was always bending down to speak to people!

It materialised today that Curly's been snogging Andy MacDonald's petite, dark-haired girlfriend, and she's only told him! He's not even angry with Curls, and is still going out on the town with him. Well, if twin Andy wants revenge on his erring girlfriend and he sticks with chick magnet Curly, he should have plenty of chances!

I knew Curly HAD to be 6ft - a strong one at that - simply by comparing him to the other stars. Then the other day, when Curly hit it off with Maxine and she was describing her mystery conquest to her friend, Fiona, as a six-footer, that clinched it!

He was planning on leaving Coronation Street, and going abroad, but came back again. Both his latest one-nighters are suspecting it's due to them! Only time will tell....🔮
