I’m 5ft 4in, 36-29-38 and definitely not a straight-up-and-straight-down size 14. I’ve always tried to disguise my top half to minimise the Bet Lynch factor, but I do love bright colours, the occasional animal print and sparkles.

@ Rob - Is that Michael her husband? Still, Brian May and Imelda Staunton are excellent measuring implements, and you can see the tiny Imelda looking much smaller than Lynda and Brian looking not as much taller than I'd have expected! After all, as from 13/14 years of age, when I became a Queen fan, I was of the impression that cat-loving Brian was 6ft4! Blame the teenage magazines for that! 😜
Yes, Lynda did maintain her height well right until her sudden and unexpected end.

Michael Ball. I never realised she had been married 3 times.

Ah! I have just been watching Lynda starring in a celebrity edition of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' winning money with 'Goodies' star and keen birdwatcher, Bill Oddie. It was sad to watch her, knowing that she didn't have much time left. Just before she died, she expressed her last wish as being able to spend just one more Christmas with her family. Sadly, it wasn't to be.
I once caught her in an episode of 'The Sweeney' and you saw her naked. She had an absolutely beautiful body.
I give this wonderful and brave actress and TV personality 5ft4.

@ Rob - Yes, that does seem the sort of helpful person Lynda was. What a nice thing to do! It's a shame there aren't more people like that, celebrity or otherwise. Little random acts of kindness only take a bit of time and cost nothing!

I've just observed the closing scene in an episode of 'All Creatures Great and Small', and I was quite surprised at how small Lynda looked next to Christopher Timothy! I had only seen her properly on 'Loose Women' where she was open, friendly and comical; also the Mum in the Oxo adverts plus in an episode of 'the Sweeney', in which she had pin-up looks!
I'd have thought her to be around 5ft5.5-6, probably as a result of that old 'Sweeney' episode, but an inch-and-a-half to 2 inches shorter did make me sit up a bit! From 'Loose Women', I didn't think she was as short as 5ft4 - she certainly never moaned about her height so she must have been quite acçepting and happy about it, and it's hard to tell when the women are nearly always sitting down with an extended 'table' covering their legs! (I don't have a clue what that table-like piece is really called!).
It was so upsetting when it was declared that she was terminally ill with cancer - she didn't want much, except for one more chance to celebrate Christmas with her family, which she didn't get.
What a brave lady, departing from this world well before her time.
RIP Lynda xxx

when Jenny was working as a Nanny in London, Lynda was going into the bank one time and held the door for Jenny and the baby.
