My cousin is a well known CBBF legend. She has met him many times before and after he started dating Maria Shriver as her mum had a place on MV and knew other Kennedys. I read through these comments and am totally bewildered by how much people buy PR hype. Arnold has never been taller than 180cm. He wears lifts and now has shrunk to 177cm. He was never tall just custom footwear and good posture.

My dad knew him in his prime because he run heavy iron gym. 182cm is peak height he is shorter now. My dad is 190cm now and was 193cm and he towered over him and I can remember being very young child when he came home and was shocked how short he was and he noted his "special shoes".

I think there can be some confusion over heel height and how much a shoe actually adds. As for Cuban heels, yes the typical range can be less, but they can get up to a full 2" heel, like these: Click Here You really don't see men's shoes with a bigger external heel than that any more, that's about the limit, but you actually gain about a 1/4" less than the external heel. Depending on the overall thickness, a cowboy boot with a slightly smaller heel could give as much height. This is a 3" heel: Click Here You'll now only see women's boots that look like that. If you want a new man's boot like that, you have no choice but to make it custom made. Of course in the 70s, you had the platforms with the very thick front and really big heel. The only thing I'm leaving out is some of those goth boots, some of those are really big, front and back, but I don't know exactly how big. As for motorcycle boots, I have an old pair and I don't think I've measured mine, but I can tell you the heel is smaller than either of my Cuban heels or cowboy boots. I think that his current height and peak height here right now are pretty accurate. I think no more than a 6 foot 1.5 inch peak maybe even slightly lower (6'1"). I would still argue that he might be slightly over 5'11.5" still (around 6 foot).

Any more height loss than that and it would be because of him either looking like a hunchback or he'd need a wheelchair. in my opinion, any height loss more than 3cm is going to be extremely significant, meaning obvious curvature of the spine etc. I'd put Arnies peak at 184-183cm meaning a shoe height of anywhere from 185-188cm.

I personally helped clear Arnold through U.S Customs when he first moved to California, he is not as tall as he wants some to believe. Possibly 5'10 to 5'11.
With no knowledge of Mr. Universe, I was amazed on his stature, I expected someone a lot taller. Fully clothed it's apparent he was not flexing for me.

My arms are 17" and they look like string compared to Arnold's - even in his action movies where he'd obviously lost some serious size from his competition days (check him out in the very early 70s - even by Pumping Iron he was much lighter). I once measured a guy who had 21" arms, but he was a chubby tubster, more a powerlifter than bodybuilder. But he was just over 6 foot tall, and from looking at the size of his arms I could easily believe that 70s Arnold had 21" when he was in peak form.

Nah more like 20 inches or slightly more pumped, he got measured at one point 19in 7/8s cold.
Sergio Olivia on the other hand got measured at 20 inches 1/8 cold.

You're obviously not a bodybuilder, James. 19" arms, big as they are, are pretty common around the gym. If you'd seen them, and compare to Arnold's pictures at his peak form, you'd know for sure he wa smuch bigger. Guy's arms were freaky large, and thick - well over 20".

Well, Gregory, I do respect anyone who becomes a movie star, because that is a difficult thing to do, and there is no denying Arnold's achievements in that regard. He is also said to be a nice man, which is admirable right there. But watching him try to approximate human speech in a movie is painful. There really is no other movie actor I can think of who is consistently as bad. John Wayne, for example, was limited to playing the same character over and over, but it was an appealing character and he did it well. When you watch Wayne do his standard hero guy you never get the impression that it's just a man reciting dialogue. But you always do with Arnold. He's like a man who can't quite hit any notes singing a song. You can tell what he means, but it's still terrible.

Well that's what Arnold is like.
Well, Gregory, I do respect anyone who becomes a movie star, because that is a difficult thing to do, and there is no denying Arnold's achievements in that regard. He is also said to be a nice man, which is admirable right there. But watching him try to approximate human speech in a movie is painful. There really is no other movie actor I can think of who is consistently as bad. John Wayne, for example, was limited to playing the same character over and over, but it was an appealing character and he did it well. When you watch Wayne do his standard hero guy you never get the impression that it's just a man reciting dialogue. But you always do with Arnold. He's like a man who can't quite hit any notes singing a song. You can tell what he means, but it's still terrible.

I stood next to him on numerous occasions in the late 1970s. My guess is that he was about 6'1". I doubt if I could be off by more than an inch, so I find claims that he was 6'3" or 5'10" to both be out of the question.

My dad is 185cms 6'1 in the evenig and meet Arnold in the 70s when he came to Australia. He said he and Arnold were exactly the same height. So 186cms is the most i can see him being. The 6'1.75/187cms wouldve been an early morning measurement

I think you've a point here. Arnold is the kind of guy who hates anything slowing him down, and he's spoken in past interviews about his disgust of ageing. He's had many injuries and operations over the years, and rarely spoken about them. The guy even tried to keep his heart surgery secret from people closest to him.
