Jordan87,
Big Show is a strong 6'10", also in the NBA locker room Shaq was over an inch taller than 6'11.25" Garnett and both were barefoot.
Anything less than 7' for Shaq is BS.

Big Show is no shorter than 6'11''. Here he is with 5 ft Terri Runnels Click Here

Show has to be at least 7 ft with standard dress shoes, don't forget Terri is 5" stilettos. Big Show easily looks 2 ft taller

Shaq judging by the size of his feet and the type of footwear he normally wears, nearly always has footwear advantage over others.

With the same footwear as Show, the most we can argue is 1.25 inches difference. In the exact same footwear, the difference would be an inch.

The Big Show is still a strong 6'10 as compared to Shaq. Shaq has been downgraded to 7'0 in some NBA listings; probably 6'11.5, he ain't got much on Show.

Rifle,

Shaq is 6'11.5 Making Big SHow 6'9.75. Agree on the 1.75 Difference, Disagree on Shaq's actual Height.

I believe Show measures within an inch of Shaq in the latest picture, the difference only looks greater when they are on different planes. They had roughly the same differenc3 when in formals a few years back. Makes you wonder how well a young show and streamline Show would have stood next to Big Shaq.

I believe Khali edges the both of them.

Show 6'10.5-6'11
Shaq 6'11.5-7'0
Khali 7'0-7'0.5

Big Show was in cowboyboots during their first staredown next to Jericho, that´s the reason he looked only 1" shorter.
Big Show in wrestlingboots always looked around 2" under Shaq in BBshoes. I doubt Shaqs sneakers give him more height than Shows big heeled wrestlingboots.

I see no difference

Big Show was really tall back in the WCW days - I'd say 7'.05" barefoot. If there was a stare down between him and Shaq back in WCW (1996-1998), they would have probably been close to the same height. Nowadays, Shaq probably has 1.5 and 2 inches on Show. So current - Big Show: 6'10.5 - 6'11 range, Shaq: 7'0" - 7'.05" range.
James B said on 11/Apr/16
7'0 range for shaq Is not impossible.

At first glance Shaq can look 3 inches taller than Big Show. Not saying he is though. Most likely its a 2 inch difference. It looked more like 3 at first because of the camera and Big Show's posture. 7'1 and 6'11 Id give them each though 6'10.5 for Big Show isn't impossible

HeightcrazyRed6ft said on 7/Apr/16
Imo Shaq loses height in the second staredown and the high camera angle makes the real gap look even less.

during the first staredown Shaq is visible straightening his back and gains clear height doing that, no less than 2inches taller than Big Show.

Show had pretty chunky soles on his boots, but I doubt there was much footwear difference.

Rob, what do you think about their footwear?

Given Shaq had footwear advantage the difference between them was closer to an inch. I only managed to have a brief look previously

Show looked tall, if you say Shaq is still close to 7'1, then Show isn't under 6'11 and likely a tad over when standing tall.

Shaq was measured 7´0.63" and 7´0.88" barefoot.

Big Show definitely lost height compared to his WCW time, at least an inch.

Rob, do you think their footwear gives the same height and is Shaq still peak in your book?

Here are some really good examples of how Big Show's posture can make him look so much shorter. Here is with bad posture with Strowman: Click Here and here is standing up straight: Click Here BIG difference

Here is Big Show at Wrestlemania with 7'1" Shaq at Wrestlemania Click Here and a shot of their footwear Click Here

Shaq is really hard to tell cuz of the design of his sneakers, but they appear to be basketball shoes. Probably equal to Show's footwear I'm guessing.

What do you think guys. 2" difference? 2.5" at most?

My best guess - Show 7' peak, 610.5" or 6'11" currently. Not sure which one. Show 7'0.5"-7'1" in boots and Shaq 7'3" in basketball sneakers.

Strowman - best guess is 6'7.5" barefoot and 6'10" in boots. He wears pretty big clunkers Click Here which would explain his close height to Kane Click Here Strowman wore flatter shoes when he first debuted Click Here

The picture with Big Show & Shaq when Shaq first entered the ring, it looked obvious that Shaq was taller but clearly Show's posture (as usual) was pretty bad. I really feel like if we had Big Show circa WCW in that ring facing off with Shaq, it would have been dead even.

In the later stand off when it was just the 2 of them in the ring, they looked a lot more even. I really think the shoes Shaq, like basketball shoes normally do, were giving him an advantage plus he had really nice posture. I personally know 2 guys, one is 6'6'' and the other 6'7'', who ran into Big Show and both said they felt he was a legit 7-foot dude.

@Ryan Hancock Braun Strowman has exceptionally good posture whereas Big Show tends to slouch quite a bit, shrinking his height down to the 6'8"-6'10" range; when Big Show straightens his back--usually when he needs to accentuate his height over another wrestler--he reaches his 6'11" height.

Late 80's Lugar was coming down the aisle, and stiff armed my friend when he tried to pat him on the shoulder. Sent my friend flying over the folding chairs. Strowman should be 6´8.5" in his footwear and Show 6´11". No doubt Big Show would gain an inch standing straight so 7´0" in footwear is possible, 6´10.5"-6´11" without.

Here are the facts that we actually have:

In the photo with 6,8" billed Brian Shaw, Strowman (Adam Scherr) looked maybe 1/4 to 1/2 an inch shorter than Brian. Hard to say exactly, but Brian definitely looks to shade him.

Brian Shaw is photographed numerous times with Hafthor Bjornsson, in all photos looking 1/4 to 1/2 an inch shorter than him.

Rob has Bjornsson on this site and a picture of himself with Thor, and his deduction was 6,7.75" which looks about right.

So realistically Strowman is going to be hovering around 6,6.5" to 6,7"

Strowman looked well within 2 inches of Big Show in their staredown.

In Big Show's staredown with Shaq, he looked every bit of 6,11" assuming Shaq is 7,1" (of which there is plenty of photographic evidence, most prominently the photo of him next to the Robert Wadlow statue which has him bang on 7,1")

Strowman looked identical in height to Kane, and shades Undertaker slightly.

My personal opinion, Strowman is 6,7" on the dot the same as Kane. Taker is just a shade under both. Strowman is wearing lifts in his staredown with Big Show in WWE's attempt to make him appear a giant. How tall Show is today is impossible to say. I seriously doubt he has lost any height since he went toe to toe with Shaq.

That's my conclusion, draw your own. Tracing it back to the pic of Hafthor Bjornsson with Rob is the best evidence there is though.
James B said on 15/Jan/16

Those photos of Show with Matt Morgan are interesting. In the side-on photos where he is slouched he looks barely 6,10", but in the shots where they are facing the camera with Jones and Lesnar and Show is standing straight, you could believe 7 foot.

While bearing in mind those pics are from 2003, you could see Show getting maybe another 1.5" on Strowman if he stood up properly.

Perhaps WWE is on a mission to make Strowman seem more impressive. Who knows...

Maybe today Show is 6'9.5 and Strowman 6'7.5 with Kane shrinking slightly and down to 6'7 flat with taker at 6'6.5
Always wondered why show looked so short compared to Shaq.

Big Show never looked short next to Shaq, they could have been around the same height, keep in mind look at the difference in weight, Big Show is heavier and Shaq looks slim. Big Show would need to fully stretch to look as tall as Shaq.

The only disadvantage mark Henry had against big show was the fact he a lot shorter at 6'3.

Mark Henry manhandled Daniel Bryan who himself is a bulky robust fella. I reckon if Bryan was taller like CM punks height he could have held his own better against Henry.
A man said on 2/Jan/16
Show was extremely fat at that time. So what if he was 550 lbs? I'd bank that he was stronger when he looked about 400-450 in 1999.

And Lesnar confirmed himself that the only guy in the locker room who he couldn't beat in an arm wrestle was Kane. In the interview he even mentions Show by name, and how he still managed to beat him despite Show having fingers like bananas.

Mark Henry is also certainly stronger than Show, as he formerly competed in strongman events at an elite level.

--------------------------

Big Show was huge in 2006, had to be at least 550 LBS, if not even more Click Here of course, Big Show is stronger than Kane naturally. There was probably no one in the locker room who could single handily take on Big Show, but there are exceptions like Mark Henry.

Totally agree Alex. A 1996 Big Show would have been pretty much the same height as Shaq. A 2012 Big Show would be looking up to Shaq.
Alex said on 6/Aug/12
They went back and forth saying he was 7'0 or 7'2 his first few months until they started to just bill him at 7'2. I do remember one time they announced him at 7'1

The proof is that he was listed at 7'1" in basketball??? Nice try.

Yeah, he was also BILLED at 7' in 1999 by the WWF and looked shorter than 7'1" Ron Reis!. Magic Johnson was listed as 6'9" in the NBA. I guess you believe that to. Also, The Rock was listed at 6'5" in high school football and 6'4" by the Miami Hurricanes, yet I know for a fact you don't believe he is 6'4". Can you say HYPOCRITE? Then again you think Vince McMahon was 3" taller than Bret Hart, that Paul Wight has shrunk by around 3", and that HHH is 6'1"; so what should I expect?

That pic looks around 96-98 is my guess. But Big Show is a little taller there and his build is alot more fit. I read his first few years in WCW he was 380-400lbs

Cool pic Vegas! That's probably the only pic from the 90's where we can see both Hogan & Austin. This pic looks to be taken just outside Gold's Gym in Venice Beach, California. I agree with JT, that the pic is probably from around 1996 or early 1997, judging from Big Show's physique and haircut.

If I had to guess, that pic is probably from around 1996 or so Vegas. Is that Billy Gunn in the back right in the shadows? He looks a little taller than Hogan although Hogan is behind Wight and that guy is probably about the same distance from the camera as Wight is.

If that's Gunn, he always looked at least a legit 6’4” to me and measured up to Wight here about how your 6’4” friend did. Click Here

@Danimal, that very well could be his height but with shoes on. When Show was face to face with 7'1" Shaq, he appeared to be 1.5" shorter. Show is 6'11 to 7'0...no more.

It has been well established that Big Show had lost height by the time he faced Shaq. Stack him up next to Shaq in 1996 and you'll see they were approximately the same height.

Danimal, so we can agree that 2006 he was his heaviest? Yea 530-550lbs is what he looked in 06. Back in WCW at one point they billed him at 541lbs when he really wasn't even close to 500lbs. In 1999-2000 Big Show was a solid 420-430lbs. Those days are long gone now

I remember watching the WCW from 1994/1995 onwards and when Big Show made his first appearance, he looked huge, but lean and as the weeks turned into months and then years, he just gained more and more weight. Literally, every week, the announcers would bill him heavier and heavier, but even just before he left for the WWF (At the time) in 1999, he still looked over 7'0" to me (compared to a then 6'10" Kevin Nash). For years now, he has looked to have lost a couple of inches in height to me.

JT, the 6'8 is rounded up I would think so hes prob 6'7 barefoot. That would put Big Show at like 7'1 which would make sense for a young Big Show.

Danimal, yes Big Show in 2006 did get up to a legit 525lbs I had read before he took off for a while again. Since 2008 when he came back he still looks easily in the upper 400s. Big Show hasn't really been in good shape since 2000 right around WM 2000.

I read he got up to 550 pounds and when he came back he claimed he lost 109 pounds and was down to 441 pounds. He easily looked 550 pounds at his heaviest.

I see him somewhere between 6'10"-6'11" today. Peak, somewhere between 7'0"-7'1". He has lost height. It's been obvious for years now.
Alex said on 28/Jul/12
I am a fan of Big Show and yes I agree he can look more 6'10-6'11 sometimes but because he looks that doesn't mean hes def that height. I would peg him somewhere from 6'11 and 7'0 today. His peak closer to 7'1

Yes, Big show was probably 7'0.5" back in the 90's, he was also billed as 7'4 for some time. Nowadays I agree with Rika he could be more like 210cm, maybe as low as 6'10.5".

I agree. I would peg him somewhere between 6'10" and 6'11" these days. Peak height, he was between 7'0" and 7'1". 2" height loss for Big Show. If present day Big Show stood next to a 1990's Kevin Nash, he would barely edge him out. A peak Big Show had 3" on a PEAK Kevin Nash.

Others I saw who may not be what we thought they were:

I remember seeing Drew McIntyre standing slightly taller than Jack Swagger. Some people here trried to put Drew down as 6'3", I still think 6'4.5". I remember Jack Swagger being mentioned as being 6'4" on his 3rd match on ECW. He is suddenly listed as 6'6" afterwards and 6'7" now.

--------------------------------------

It's weird because I saw a match between Jack Swagger and Mason Ryan (I think it was aired on February 17). Ryan looked half to 3/4 of an inch taller than Swagger. Maybe he was using thick boots+lifts? Because I sure as hell don't think Ryan is over 6'4 while Swagger is more of a proper 6'5.

---------------------------------------

Rikashiku says on 13/Jun/12

Albert is always listed at 6'6" and has 3" on Tyson Tomko who was also listed at 6'6"... which didn't help their tag team.
-------------------------------
Matt Bloom IMO is about 6'4.75", he didn't look any taller than JBL and I've seen him wrestle with Jon Andersen-Reel AKA Jon Strongman who is about 6'1 tops and he didn't look over 4 inches taller (if that). Look up matches between Giant Bernard and Strongman on youtube, that hardly looks like a 4 inch difference.

As for Tyson Tomko I really don't know what to say, I always thought he was a legit 6'6, maybe even 6'7! But then this must mean AJ Styles is not 5'10 or 5'9.5" more like 5'7ish? Check out this video:

If Tomko is 6'3-6'3.5 Styles is about 5'7-5'7.5, then again if Albert has 2.5 to 3 inches on Tomko as you say, and since I think Albert is no more than 6'4.75 (6'5 at best), then Tomko is more like 6'2ish and Styles is more like 5'6ish. BTW how tall did you think Christian looked in that video? I think 5'11.5"

@Gir, he was billed at 7'0" when he first debut. I thought it was 7'2" as well but I was corrected by another user here.

I'd say he was 7'0" aswell. Its hard to tell how tall Ron Reis was when he portrayed the Yeti. Did anyone look at his footware? He looked at least 2" on bigshow and I remember Bigshow saying he is 7'1" in 2005.

I didn't see The Yeti having had 2" on Big Show. The Yeti was in a mummy costume, so he had bandages wrapped around his head. There was no way of telling where the top of his head stopped. Ron Reis was legit somewhere between 7'1" and 7'2". Personally, I think Big Show was CLOSE to 7'1" in the 1990's, or at the very least 7'0.5". He towered over very big men in ways he hasn't been able to do since.

I know he was billed at commonly billed at 7'2" in the WWF in the early days. But, seem to recall some posters on this site also posting some early 7' listings for him in the WWF. Not that it matters because he has been billed at 7' for nearly 10 years now. There is no way in heck he shrank in his early 30s. Again, even with his big WCW boots, he was still shorter than 7'1" Ron Reis. If he has gotten shorter, it is by no more than half an inch or so.

Take into account taller people (guys 7ft or taller) tend to shrink more than shorter/average people. He was maybe 7ft but nowadays I think he's about 6'10.75"/210cm tall.

Interesting pic of Big Show and Dirk Nowitzki Click Here Dirk’s closer to the camera but could stand a little straighter.

Dirk usually gets listed at 7’0” now. Like many Europeans, he was not measured for the NBA draft. I’ve always had my doubts that he was a full 7’0” and instead was closer to 6’11”.

He does look pretty tall though next to Pau Gasol, who’s at least 7’0” Click Here Gasol is in flip-flops but the soles are not that small.

Chris Kaman (No. 12, to Dirk’s left with bald head) was measured at 6’11.5” for the NBA draft. Click Here Very tall team there but undoubtedly lacking in the athletic department.

The Big Show stacked up the same next to 7'1" Ron Reis in the mid-90s as he currently does next to the 7'1" Great Khali. He still dwarfs 6'4" Johnny "Ace". Plus, he was billed at 7'0" when he first arrived in the WWF in 1999. As for him being 500+ pounds; he claims 440lbs for himself and was only over 500lbs for a short amount of time. The majority of his career, he has been well under. The bottom line is, I am an open-minded guy; so if there is any proof of height loss for Paul Wight, just post it...danimal.

I'll just say that I think Big Show has been 6'11"-7' for him entire career.

Whatever he was in the 1990's, he looks to be MAX 6'10.5"-6'11" these days. The massive weight (500+ pounds), horrendous posture and the beating he has taken in the ring have knocked height off of him. Between 7'0" and 7'1" in the 1990's.
