that 6' 1.5 guy, 'mike' was unconfirmed. no one knew him here on this site and he only stuck around for about 3 posts. that guy 'mike' measured up better to big show than vegas' 6' 4" friend indicating that either vegas is lying, or mike is lying/hiding something about that photo. plus to be fair, that recent photo of big show with the 6' 11 guy (assuming he is truthful) clearly shows that big show has him by at least .5"-1".

Whatever he was in the 1990's, he looks to be MAX 6'10.5"-6'11" these days. The massive weight (500+ pounds), horrendous posture and the beating he has taken in the ring have knocked height off of him. Between 7'0" and 7'1" in the 1990's.

Rob do you think 6ft11 (211cm) peak and 6ft10.5 (210cm)today is closer too the truth than the full 7ft? He also did not look the height listed here with the 6'1.5 guy whose photo used too be on this page.

Many improper statements here. He was listed @ 7'4/7'5"in wcw and 7'2" when he first came to the then wwf. He was much taller before 7'2" in wcw and 7'0" now.

Check my post from December 17, and than come back here and claim he was billed 7'2" when he first came to the WWF. He clearly wasn't. His height wasn't upgraded to 7'2" until he started feuding with the likes of Kane & The Undertaker.

I've read somewhere that Big Show was also billed as 7ft in his first professional match in December 1994 against Frank Finnegan in Larry Sharpe's Monster Factory. That was 8 months before his first match in WCW. Haven't found proof of that though.
Captain Spaulding said on 14/Feb/12
@ Vegas. Actually, most of the time during the Big Shows 1st few years in the WWE/WWF he was billed at 7'2". He might of been billed at around his actual hight in early 1999 in wwf, but since wwf usually overbills their rastlers hights by 2 inches, they quickly changed his billed hight to 7'2". From late 99-like 05/06, I always remember him being listed on wwe.com and in video games as 7'2".
Captain Spaulding said on 14/Feb/12
@ JT Yea that 7'2" guy looked taller then Big Show. But he isn't BIGGER then Big Show. That dude probably weighs barely over 300 lbs AT MOST. While Big Show weighs 485 and lifts weights. He's probably 3 times stronger then that 7'2" guy lol. Look at the difference in the size of their arms. Big shows arms are like twice as big.

Henry, Big Show was not measured at 7’1” in college, he was listed at that height.

Kevin Love was listed at 6’10” at UCLA

but measured 6’7.75” for the NBA draft. Click Here He played center at UCLA and had to inflate his height to generate more interest for NBA teams.

__________

wight had his surgery in his freshman year (according to his sister on wights dvd), that listing is from his sophomore year

second being listed at a height doesn't mean you are/were that height, you can find half a dozen 6'5 college listings for dwayne johnson e.g number 94 Click Here

I don't know if I'd go as far as to say that Big Show is CLEARLY taller than the guy, but he's certainly no shorter. We also can't see their footwear. Big Show may have a .5" on him tops but if he's in a suit he could have on dress shoes, then again we don't know if the skinny dude's footwear. My best guess, without shoes, they're probably the same height on the dot or Big Show is .5" taller, 6'11" - 6'11.5" IMO, an easy 7' peak. Best pic on this site maybe ever!!

The 6'11" guy is saying Big Show claimed 7'2" for himself. Haven't heard Big Show claiming 7'2" for himself since the day he was re-billed at 7ft. Apparently he did say to Big Show's face that there's no way he's 7'2" (which takes some guts). Big Show just shook his hand and nearly crushed it! I wonder if he did that on purpose :-)

It's obvious Big Show is a good inch or more taller than the guy in the pic, take away the fluffed up hair and it's obvious, as for the 7' 2" thing, I can't remember him ever claiming to be 7' 2, he claims 7' 1" as his own peak height. I'm guessing they had a conversation like this.. Show: You're pretty tall, nearly 7 foot tall, I'm 7 foot too. the guy probably mistook this for "7 foot two". you can't really tell because you don't know about footwear, but assuming equal footwear Show easily has an inch and a quarter over this guy.

It's obvious he's shorter, not taller.

based on this picture: Click Here it's obvious the top of the other guy's head is over an inch below the top of his hair, or are we counting hair as part of height? Show has him by quite a bit.

I've got Big Show at 6'11.5 today (when he's fully stretched out), too much evidence to put him any lower. He can look as low as 6'10 with bad posture, which is understandable for a guy with a huge upper body.

He looks it with that 6'11 guy, Kane, Swagger, Shaq and Khali....

If Show is a flat 6'11 or under, all of those guys would need a downgrade.

Big show is a legit 7'0. When Big Show debuted as the Giant in WCW, he was billed as Andre's son and 7'4. Now, when they measure basketball players, it's always with the shoes on. Big Show was nearly anywhere near 500 pounds though, maybe 400 at his max. Ron Reis was a true giant in wrestling but never got a push, and I always wondered why.

Uhhhh, you are wrong. Big Show was FORCED to leave the WWE in 2006/2007, because he became morbidly obese (he went up to a LEGIT 550 pounds). He came back at 441 pounds a year later, claiming he lost 109 pounds.. Never above 400 pounds for him is LAUGHABLE..

Big Show and Ronnie Coleman Click Here Too many variables (footwear unknown, Coleman not standing straight but a little closer to the camera….) but it at least gives an idea how large Big Show is

Rob, I was looking at where the pivot point of the feet would be, not where the toes are. Based on that, he is standing a bit behind you. The bottom line Click Here was drawn at the front of the balls of your feet. The front of the balls of both of his feet are behind the line.

In this pic Click Here the guy’s head is tilted back farther with you than when in the stadiometer, so his chin is going to end up looking higher vis-à-vis the line at the top of your head.

He looks a solid inch above this guy Click Here you have listed at 6’4.75” Click Here

if you’re saying he’s leaning forward and/or you’re leaning back in your pics, it’s possible but sure does not look it.

Tukkergrip, Big Show was billed 7’ when he made his WWF debut in February 1999 and a few months after that. I’ve posted more than enough proof of this about a month ago, but I guess you haven’t read those posts.
Also I never mentioned anything about Giant Haystacks. I was referring to The Giant (Big Show) who Rikashiku claimed lost height due to injuries & weight gain. If those are causes of height loss at a young age, than Akebono should’ve lost height by the time he faced Big Show in 2005. He was older, heavier and had far more injuries by the time he faced Big Show than when Big Show made his WWF debut. Height loss & lifts are the 2 most used excuses that people will use to explain why a celebrity isn’t the height he’s supposed to be.
Uncle Elmer was shorter than Andre. I haven’t seen any video of them from which you can determine their heights. But just seeing as how they measure up to the same people, I’d say Andre is a few inches taller than Elmer. There’s a video where wrestlers are dressed up in Halloween costumes and Hogan & Elmer briefly stand side by side. Elmer isn’t that much taller (maybe 2 inches). Andre had around 5 inches on Hogan. The 6’9.75” measurement of Andre will become official the day that someone actually posts proof of said measurement. So far I haven’t seen any of such evidence. We do have documented proof that Andre was still being billed at 6’10” at age 22-23.
tukkergrip said on 15/Jan/12
bigshow,
I like your reaction, but i have to disagree with you on some things.
First of all the big show was listed at 7'1 in a school picture and at 7'1 in a basketball pic. Ofcourse they could have exxegerated those heights but you got to believe something. Also why would the wwf underbill him?? what do you mean I always thought he was billed at 7'4 when he came into the wcw and wwf. Then later he was billed at 7'0 wich is possible with height loss. remember hulk hogan lost alot of height? I think he used to be 6'6 at his top.
Also khali was around 7'feet 1 1/2 inches - or 7'' feet 1/2 inches ( I forgot sorry) by a bodybuilding magazine. I really dont get how any of you could get khali as well under 7 feet. Hes about the same height as 7'1 shaq maybe 1 cm more or less but definatly not 4+ cm less.
Andre was 7 feet 5 or even 7'1 or 2 (that really is ridicilous). he was 6 9 3/4 officialy measured by a frenchmen believe me, and i dont think andre grew anymore. Even for acromegalics its very rare to grow past there puberty, and andre didnt look taller when he was older, heck he looked shorter. The only reason all these people still believe that andre was 7 foot + is because he was ''the giant'' and all and had one heck of a bonestructure.
And giant gonzalez sure was just a little taller that andre at 8 foot :P. What have you guys been doing lol. Actually he was 7'7.25 or 7'7.5. And the guinnes book of records is not always that verifiable who has him at 7'6 (it has Isaac nesser and probably sri chimnoy on it lol)
uncle elmer was billed 7'11 once (that is INSANE)
uncle elmer was really about 6'10 and he looked taller than a 6'93/4 andre at the time, who was also bending forward a lot like always so he even looked shorter. so if andre stood up straight had no posture problems he would have been about the same height as elmer.
And you also said why could the gaint haystacks lose height and akebono not? Well the answer is simple ofcourse. Some people lose height and other not. Especially wrestlers who get a lot of bumps in the ring (there spines get trashed mostly). Giant haystacks was even heavier than a +-500pound akebono and his spine looked kinda strechty. You now he didnt get a lot of muscular training if you know what i mean :P, so his spine might not have been the stiffest so he even lost more height. To see what I mean look at this the loch ness vs alex wright and watch and pause at 2:45 Click Here you see that normally he already walks around and throws around alex wright with lazy posture. like he is shorter then he really is. Then to trow alex wright of the turnbuckle at 2:40+ he stretches out his spine and reallllly looks taller, then immediatly after it he returns to his slouzy 6'7+- posture. I still believe him saying he was taller than andre, and i also take the word from his ''son'' at his site. Altough it IS VERY EASY TO FAKE yourself as to be the son of someone on the internet i agree, but i dont think so.
And haystacks calhoun well I got him a little better now I think. Killer kowalski said he was about 6'5 well thats probably exegerating it. he (haystacks) wrote himself down that he was 6'4 wich i also dont believe. and he got about 12-15 cm on larry zbysko. And hes just a little shorter as gorilla monsoon who was 6'5.5? I found good pics of him standing next to larry zbysko and ivan putski (from video) and hank renner.
Does anyone know how tall hank renner was 6'1.5? then haystacks was about 6'2.5 and maybe more with better posture.. thats taller than i thought... and it should fit cause haystacks was around 3/4 inches shorter barefeet that big booted 6'5??? gorilla monsoon
So anyone knows how tall larry zbysko was? 5'9.5?
Gorilla monsoon? 6'5?
Ivan putski? 5'6?
how tall was bruno sammartino really i think 5'10.5 (but some list him at 6'1 or 5'8 o.O) does anyone know?
So if anyone knows the height of larry or ivan putski or especially hank renner I could find out stax height.

Big Show was slouching with Morgan, who usually has good posture.
Morgan looked a little shorter than Nash in TNA, and we know how Big Show still measures up to Nash.

That guy does look 6’6” with Rob, especially since he’s standing a bit behind him. Click Here It may be a combo of this guy having stallone-like posture and Rob not standing fully erect when the photos were taken or Rob’s playing a little prank on us....

Rob has this guy (Dan Cudmore) at 6’7” Click Here Rob had a 0.4” footwear advantage over Cudmore, who’s standing a bit behind Rob and still has around a full head size on him, so 6’7” for Cudmore makes sense.

I’d be hesitant to start downgrading everyone based on just one pic. Rob initially had Sid Eudy at 6'6" based on Mamun's pic with his 6'6" relative.
Editor Rob
We stood tall for the challenge photos.

I wouldn't assume - based on our toes - that he is actually behind...put your toes straight against a skirting board, then pivot on your heel about 45 degree and your toes will be 2 inches further from the camera ;)

if I was gaining advantage then in this photo the top of my head should be above were 5ft 8.2 appears on the guy...rather than below it.

another assumption is even if your toes or say legs/belly looked in front, it still might not mean that the person's head is closer.

In the photo below (taken straight/side on at same time) my feet were a big 2 inches nearer, but I'm leaning back 2 inches and so our heads were similar distance from camera.

There's been many shoots that I might have leant backwards, not quite 2 inches when facing onto the camera (more like half inch or 1 inch), although if your body is at 45 degree angle then you can lean to your side and back a bit, which takes your head easily a few inches further back.

Vegas says on 13/Jan/12 ...that long shot is taken from an identical height to the andre/dynamite shot.

I think the angle is lower in the Andre pic, don´t forget it´s not only the angle it´s the type of lense too.

......ooking at challenger 15 who only came out at 6'5.25 next to rob i think ... we can certainly rule out 6'6 for hogan.

exact thing I thought if I read the result of 6´5.25", but we have to figure it out first...

it doesn't matter what the others say, he was listed 217cm in the olympics at 27 years old and wouldn't have grown after that, JT has a basketball group shot of silva standing next to one of brazils most famous basketballers (who himself was listed 6'8) and not looking more than 5 inches taller

post a news article where it states batista is 6'6 "before" he became a wrestler, i posted 7 articles there where it states reis is 7'1, i could post a dozen more so it was obvious he was listed 7'1 in college and college sports stars are often overlisted by their teams, i can't remember one underlisted

de jong is just as tall as jones i bet, in his only interview in fcw he stated his height as 6'10 Click Here

De Jong probably didn't like FCW or how he hadn't been put in the ring yet. Yeah Jones was practically a Jones Clone.
Jones - De Jong similarities
- Both played Movie Monsters
- Both competed in MMA
- Both are strongmen
- Both 6'10"(or close to it in the case of Jones)
- Both weighed over 300lbs when they came to WWE.
- Both are White
- Both have little to no Hair

miko i would say he would be eye to eye with wight, wight might be taller because of his bigger head, wight has a much bigger head actually, much bigger hands and feet in person too and is heavier obviously, though tron is a still a huge man at 300lb+, he seemed taller in person than matt morgan and morgans roughly nash's height, i have to say in-ring tron looked taller than wight but standing next to him in person he didn't

speaking of wight anyone notice he was billed 7'1 on screen last night in tale of the tape and lillian garcia introduced him for his match as standing over 7ft, i guess he grew a few weeks before his 40th birthday :D

I can't find anything on Ron REis' NCAA record and every other place says 7'2". Since its college basketball then there's the chance that he could have grown.

SAme thing for Silva. All I can find is 7'2" for him and no other info. He doesn't look 7'1" with Akebono or James Thompson

Kurt Angle was listed at 180cm in the Olympics and he's more 5'10" now. When was Giant Silva in the Olympics? Better check that out myself.

I've only seen Trons listing and his few videos with him next to really small guys.

Well Vegas, Ziggler isn't really close to 6'0" and has a 5'10.5" look and Kingston is shorter than Cody Rhodes who isn't even 6'0" either.

@Jack, Khali was listed at 7'0" and 7'1" when he was a bodybuilder. He's literally the same height as 7'1" Shaq and they both have an Inch(sometimes more depending on foorwear) on Big Show.

Bigshow isn't the only 7 footer to wrestle. Giant Gonzalez is 7'6", Ron Reis is 7'2", Giant Silva is 7'2", Silo Sam is 7'3", Eli Cottonwood is 7'0", Andrew Jackson is 7'0" or so, Tron the Irish Nightmare is over 7'0". Also, Hong Man Choi who is a wrestler but not a "Pro" Wrestler is 7'2".

so Jack how then was khali taller than wight?? he was taller than wight in 2006 when both men were 34, khali has been taller than everyone wight stood next to, compare big show and batista staredown in 2000 to khali and batista staredown in 2008, khali is clearly taller next to batista even though he is 8 years older...

(he was a bodybuilder before his wrestling days) i'd imagine that people on this site would know this information lol its not that hard to get ahold of...

Yet Khali was clearly taller than Big Show. If Khali is only 6'10-6'11" than Big Show is only 6'9-6'10". The bodybuilding articles I've seen of Khali all refer him as 7'-7'1"

Just heard an interesting claim by Chuck Whepner in a radio interview. He said that Andre was 6'11.5" & 390 lbs at their wrestler vs Boxer match in the mid 70's. And that's why Stallone used those measurements for Thunderlips in the script for Rocky 3. However, Chuck has a real grudge against Sly & has made many claims. Actually, about 5 years ago when talking about his match with Andre...he refered to Andre as being 7 ft tall & 430 lbs.

That sounds interesting. Do you know where to find those radio interviews.
I believe Andre was billed 7'5", 462lbs in his match with Wepner.

For the hell of it, out of boredom.

Andrew Jackson, 7'1" or so? He's never really stood by other tall athletes except for 7'0" Eli Cottonwood and Jackson was slightly taller.

Drew McIntyre 6'4.5" 230lbs or so billed at 6'6" 240 to 275(LOL)

Sheamus a weak 6'3" about 260lbs or so billed 6'6-6'4" between 270 and 290lbs

Mason Ryan 6'4" 290lbs billed 6'6" and 295lbs. He debut at 275 and peaked at 295lbs.

JBL 6'5" billed 6'7"-6'6"

Gene Snisky a weak 6'5" billed 6'6"-6'7"-6'8"-6'9"

Abyss 6'5.5" looks about 310lbs peaked at 340lbs billed 6'8" and 350lbs.

Lance Storm 5'11.5" 200+lbs billed at 6'0" and 220lbs. This guy was freakishly strong. He also had the habit of not wearing boots or anything with a sole.

Steven Blackman 6'1" easily 210lbs billed 6'2" 230lbs. This guy is freakish. The Chuck Norris of WWE.

Yoshihiro Tajiri 5'9" between 200-210lbs billed 5'9" 210lbs... hah!

Super Crazy 5'6" between 170 and 200lbs billed 5'8" 200lbs

Psicosis 5'9" 200lbs billed 5'9" 200lbs... so basically WWE doesn't over bill high flyers.

Dolph Ziggler 5'10.5" billed 6'0"

Kofi Kingston 5'10" billed 6'0"

Evan Bourne 5'5" billed 5'9" LMFAO!

Logan Noll 1996 no offense, but you’re pretty off with some of your estimates. You have the Undertaker at 6’10”, yet Nash at 6’8-6’9”. Nash was clearly taller than the Undertaker and measured up better next to anyone the Undertaker has ever stood next to. Nash was listed at 6’10” in NCAA basketball (before he became a wrestler). He has never been billed any lower than that in wrestling (whereas Undertaker has been billed at 6’8” in wrestling).
Glen Jacobs was around 2 inches taller than the Undertaker when he first appeared as Kane in late 1997. Yes he was wearing big lifts at the time, but if he was really 2 inches shorter than the Undertaker his footwear would have to boost his height by ~5 inches (as Undertaker wasn’t barefoot either) which is pretty ridiculous. Same goes for Sid Eudy. Him and Undertaker looked around the same height, with maybe a slight edge to The Undertaker.
Same goes for Andre the Giant. He’s been billed as low as 6’10” in professional wrestling. He certainly didn’t have 7-9 inches on Studd or 8-10 inches on Hogan as you claim.

You can't really tell the exact difference between them in that picture. I would say there looks like more than 4" between them. Mane's posture is horrible in that picture yet he still looks nearly 5" taller.
Rikashiku said on 28/Dec/11
That doesn't really look like 4 inches, besides, Mane isn't even standing straight.

He could have been 6'8.5" and Nash 6'9.5" or 6'10" flat. Nash is clearly just over 81" now and Mane has been looking 80" tall for a while now.

Its still possible for people to lose height in their 30's. Injuries and weight problems can be the cause for this making problems in the neck, spine and knees, mostly the knees though. Taller and heavier men will lose height earlier.

Just had a close look at the video below and you can see Nash has very flat soles but Big Sky has a thicker sole, An inch, maybe more, and perhaps Nash also has a slight height advantage. 6'10 peak for Nash and i'd still say over 6'9 today.

Nash looked at least 6’9” with HHH recently and definitely measured up better next to Big Show than Akebono did. Akebono was taller than A-Train in his big boots, and A-Train in those same boots was about the same height as Taker in some decent sized boots himself. IMO Nash would (still) have about a 2 inch height advantage in comparable footwear over Taker and probably Kane too.

Then the next week during his first match against Funaki, yes Michael Cole did refer him as 7ft, 400lbs but during the same match Michael Cole claimed The Great Khali was 7'3". The whole point I was making was that Big Show couldn't have been 7'1" if he was billed by the WWE at 7' at the time of his debut. To which you replied that Big Show was billed at 7'2" when he made his WWE debut. And that's simply incorrect.

If Big Show was billed at 7' and they boast about how big he was during every single one of his matches, when they gave him the nickname "Largest athlete in the world", and when every other big guy in the WWE was billed taller & heavier than what they are in real life, do you really believe that Big Show was listed below his actual height. Even though his weight was certainly exaggerated! Well I have a hard time believing they did.
He didn't lose height either at that point. Again if injuries (which he barely had at that point) and weight density are a cause of height loss, than Akebono surely would've lost height by the time he faced Big Show.

As for Akebono & Viscera. Viscera's footwear in his match-up with Akebono was huge. Click Here
Rikashiku said on 16/Dec/11
Alright, post those videos then. You could have done it 12 hours ago and proven it.

Point is, he still got the 7'2" billing whether it was immediate or not.

Akebono is 6'8" isn't he? He doesn't look 6'8" now, he looks slightly over 6'7" now. He was just barely an inch taller than 6'6.5" Viscera.

Wrestlers suffer the most injuries and minor fractures and they also carry more weight and mass on their frames than Basketball players do.

Like I said "Big Show", he was billed at 7'4" for some time and then 7'2" when he joined WWE until it changed to 7'0" in 2004.
Yes, it still is possible for people, tall people over 6'2" to lose height early, especially for athletes. Its the weight and the long shape of the bones that causes the loss the most. Premature loss of height starts in the knees.

Rikashiku, Big Show wasn't billed at 7'2" when he joined the WWE. He was billed at 7' in his first few months. I can post like a dozen videos of him during those months where he is being mentioned as 7', 500lbs. Like I said, the 7'2" billing began in late May 1999, when he was already 3 months in the WWE. He began feuding with the Undertaker & Kane shortly thereafter, so no doubt they upped Big Show's height to make him more impressive and to make the other billings seem more realistic.

Apparently, only wrestlers seem to suffer from this premature height loss, cause I ain't seeing it with basketball players or tall NFL players.

Again how tall do you think Akebono still was when he faced Big Show in 2005? He was heavier (for a much longer period), older and had way more injuries & surgeries than Big Show had at age 27 (or even at his current age).

_________

he wasn't billed at 7'2 when he joined wwe, he was billed 7ft flat and that was later upped to 7'2 after a few months, on the wrestlemania 15 dvd (which came out in 1999) he is clearly listed 7ft not 7'2; in ovw in 2000 he referred to himself as 7ft flat in interviews

Actually "Big Show", he was billed at 7'4" for some time and then 7'2" in the WWE until 2004. Big Show himself stated he was 7'1" for some time. It IS actually possible for people to lose height in their early years, even after several injuries and weight density.

Big Show was billed at 7’4” when he was in WCW. I’ve never seen or heard him being billed at 7’4” in the WWE (at least not in his first few years). When he made his debut in the WWE in February 1999, the first few months they billed him at 7’, 500lbs. In late May 1999 they started billing him at 7’2”.
If injuries and weight density is a cause of height loss how tall do you think Akebono still was when he faced Big Show in 2005. Akebono was already in his mid-30’s, had a handful of knee surgeries, plus he hovered around that 500lbs mark for many years. If Big Show already lost 1 inch by age 27 with no track-record of injuries nor was he as overweight as Akebono, than surely Akebono must’ve lost a little more than 1 inch by the time he faced Big Show.

Now Mr. Biased, do you have any comparisons where Big Show doesn't have such a camera advantage? Love have you failed to mention that he did to the NOVICE reader, which makes a HUGE difference. BTW, where are those COWBOY boots, seeing you didn't show any shots of them?

Many Wrestlers HAVE been underbilled. Jack Swagger was billed at 6'4" for afew weeks before being bumped up to 6'6". Wade Barrett was 6'5" for a year and now he's 6'7".

Andre the Giant was 6'7" when he was 17 and 6'10" at 22, he was probably taller in later years. Some men don't stop growing until their mid 20's and andre had that growth disease.

If Baba was 2" taller than Hogan then that would make Andre about 7'0"-6'11".

Hate to break it to you Tukkergrip, but you're not that good!

Big Show 7'1" peak? The guy was listed 7' by the WWE when he was only 27 years old. You think they gave him the monniker "Largest athlete in the world" and then bill him below his actual height.

There's no proof on any measurement of Andre the Giant! He was still being billed at 6'10" though when he competed in the UK in his early 20's.
Not being treated for his acromegaly doesn't mean you keep growing in height. Most acromegalic giants stop growing at the same age as normal people. Only in rare cases do acromegalic giants grow until their late 20's. Andre still looked 3 inches taller than Baba when they tagged together in the early 90's. Baba was ~2 inches taller than Hogan. So Andre still looked ~6'10" even in his latter days.

There's also no proof on Great Khali's 6'11 1/2" measurement. That's an unsubstantiated claim made by posters on the internet. Thusfar I've only seen 7-1 listings for him, with occasinally a 7ft reference.
Both Shaq & Khali are taller than Big Show and I believe they're the same age aswell, yet you think Big Show was at least 1 inch taller than both in their primes?

Giant Haystacks at 6'11" is a joke! He was billed at 6'8" when he competed in Germany in the mid-80's. So I doubt he's taller than that. He didn't look more than 6'6" when he was in the ring with Big Show and there really wasn't anything wrong with Haystacks posture either.
Haystacks wasn't taller than Andre. When they both competed in New Zealand in 1980 Andre was billed taller and heavier than Haystacks.
On the internet it's easy to claim you're Giant Haystacks son and claim he was legitemately measured at 6'11". The guy on the GiantHaystacks website of course never actually proved he was indeed Haystacks son.
Tukkergrip said on 4/Dec/11
Wow after some research on the wrestlers heights I think I might have them pretty good.

Big show 7´1 peak 7´ now maybe 6'11.5.
Andre the giant was officialy measured at 6´9 3/4 i believe in his 20's. Its possible that he grew another 1 inch because he wasnt operated for his acromegaly. But his bones were already finished growing in length cause he finished puberty and all. So it was just a pituatary growth. Andre was 6'11 max. And I believe he shrunk due to excessive weight bad posture to about 6'9-6'8 in later years.
The great khali is officialy meusured at 6'1 1/2 i believe by a bobybuilding magine, hes just as tall as shaq oneil
The tallest ever, Giant gonzalez was officialy 7'7.25 inches at his peak, he was down to 7'6 according to the guinnes book and probably treu by the time he faced the undertaker he was probably 7'6 (the old guinnes book was crappy btw, with claims and none meusured facts)

I really dont know how you guys can have big show at 6'10 and andre at 7'1 or something

O yeah the giant haystacks was 211 cm or 6'11 according to his son bearfeet meusured, I read it myself. The pic you have of akebono (who is 203cm suposedly thats 6'8 for you englisch people) and the big show and giant stacks and big show is great but not accurately without description: Because big show was taller when he met stacks at around 7'1 with big boots on (he was claimed 7'4 that time/and the son of andre the giant and all lol) so he really was prolly around 7'3 with stack being about 6'8 at the time (really) due to bad posture and immense weight problems, remember stacks was around 650 maybe close to the billed 699 pounds, definatly over 600 pounds orso at the time. Back before wwf he was mostly around 587 pounds. I even have a pic of him and andre and stacks said he was taller and he also looks a bit taller than a 6'9 3/4 andre.

Kane is 6'8 I believe, hes just a little taller than the undertaker if you look closely.

Undertaker probably 6'7.5
Kevin nash was 6'10.5 orso i believe
one guy i cant help find out is haystack calhoun, he was listed at 6'4, but he was really between 5'10 and 6'2 but where was he???? prbably 5'11 at his shortest and 6''0,5 at his tallest

So the question is HOW much more did he grow till he had his tumor removed. I'd guess he was just under 7'2" peak. Big Show has lost a tremendous amount of height and he also has really bad posture. Shaq in sneakers is about 7'3.75" so Bishow is still at least 7'0". Also, Spencer Hayes and Major Wingate both wear the same shoes as Shaq and look at their with shoes/barefoot height comparison here.
Look at Major Wingate and Spencer Hayes' with shows/barefeet stats here.

Shaq's shoes were the longest in the NBA and so their soles were even thicker than the same shoes in smaller sizes worn by Major Wingate and Spencer Hayes.
Even with the HUGE footwear advantage and the fact that Bigshow lost more height than Shaq over the years, the difference isn't that great.

Nice work JT.

Those comparisons do show how large Big Show's upper body is, his legs are not much longer than 5"9.5 Chris Jerichos.

Because of his huge upper body, even a small slouch could cost him an inch in height. He really does have to stretch his body out to reach near 7'0.

We're not going to see a Khali/Show staredown again as Khali is finished with WWE, there is a possiblity of a Shaq/Show staredown next year as Shaq is in talks for Wrestlemania 28.

Currently Show doesn't really have any height 'threats' in WWE, bar perhaps 6'9 Kevin Nash.

The camera did not show Shaq with his head up next to Jericho although he won't gain much more height if he lifts his head.

I was actually surprised how well Big Show measured up to Shaq. It seems that whenever wrestlers stand next to athletes from real sports, their inflated heights get exposed big time. Big Show measured up better next to Shaq than 6’11” Dirk Notwitzki does Click Here

Big Show did not look any shorter next to Shaq than he did next to Khali, so Khali probably is every bit as tall as Shaq.

And I dunno if anyone watched or read the results but Sin Cara's injury was legit - the ref did the X sign and he's gonna be out 6-9 months

In which comparison? The one at the beginning of the night when both were in equal footwear, both in dress shoes where Show was the same height and at times actually appeared slightly taller than Shaq, or the one at the end of the night where O'Neal was in basketball shoes with a 2 heel and Show was in his wrestling boots. I'd rather take the shot at the beginning of the night as Shaq had a huge advantage at the end of the night and was closer to 7' 3" in those shoes. while show's wrestling boots actually had less of a heel than the shoes he was wearing earlier.

the only reason big show may looked 7'1 prime is because of his moon boots and his big hair. (the wcw days ) His posture was much better back then. I don't believe that Paul wight has lost any big amount of height. He only looks shorter today due to the bad posture and his head is sheaved. He is much heavier now and with that he appears to be shorter and has problems with his posture.

Paul Wight was ever 7'1 prime, beacuse if he was 7'1 and with his 2 inch moon boots he would be in the ring 7'3.

Remember very tall guys around 7'0 can lose up to 2 inches of height throughout the day, as per Rob. Not every guy that height will, but it's something to consider.

It's not improbable that he wakes at 7'0.5/7'1 after a good sleep and drops to 6'11 later in the day. He is walking around with 450lbs on his back.

Personally I think he's always been around the 6'11.5 range, he might have touched 7'0 in his WCW prime, but I don't really buy into any noticable height loss.

If we can’t see the floor and/or tell what the stances are, the picture usually doesn’t have much value Click Here Click Here So I guess Hulk Hogan in jeans and cowboy boots is only 6 inches taller than 5’8” Mean Gene? Click Here

If they are on level ground and Big Show actually has a comparable stance to Lebron, than Lebron is easily 2 inches taller than Kane and Undertaker and probably even taller than Nash. Further, since Shaq has around 6 inches on Lebron, this huge height loss for Big Show must have happened recently given how Big Show matched up to Shaq in 2010.

Show at 6'11 or under would be very bad for legit 7'1 guys like Shaq/Khali and would therefore downgrade the entire NBA. Shaq looks 7'1 next to every single other basketball player.

Remember in WCW, he had hair, better posture and marginally bigger boots, he was skinnier, it made him look taller. Today he's 100lbs heavier, bald and doesn't stand straight unless face to face with another guy around his height.

If he has lost any height, then so has every other wrestler.

Undertaker Spivey Sid, somewhere around 6'5 1/2 and 6'6. Nash is the same height as Lebron James who is listed 6'8, some sites say hes 6'7 and some change.
drummer777 said on 4/Nov/11
By the way I did put the time when to look on my last post 1:54 for the Tyler Mane aka Michael Meyers interview. The pomo with Sid is pretty short none the less it bills him as 6'7 in the 80's. But while in the WCW he did grow to 6'9 (lol), go figure.
drummer777 said on 4/Nov/11
JBL as well as being billed 6'7 he was also was billed 6'6 and in football 6'5 1/2, Sid and Undertaker are in the 6'5 1/2 to 6'6 range, close to 6'7. Barry Windham was also billed 6'6 and 6'7 like his dad, really is 6'4.

Dennis Rodman in basketall is listed as 6'8 and 6'7, really is 6'6.

But hey if you want to go by billed heights of 6'7 all these guys claimed or where billed 6'7 at one time throughout their careers.

Hulk says he used to be 6'7
if you looked at my last post Sid was billed at 6'7
Undertaker was billed as 6'7 way early on in World Class Wrestling and then 6'8 after that of course really got inflated to 6'9 6'10 and 6'11 in the WWF.
Of course JBL billed 6'7
And Barry Windham was billed 6'7

Tyler Mane Is 6'8 as far as I know and is taller than Taker or any of those guys accept Andre and Big Show who are taller, Nash same height as Tyler Mane.

JT's pic is an awesome show of heights.

@drummer777, JBL was billed at 6'7" for most of his career. Sid is also 6'7.5" ish. Undertaker IS over 6'7", also when you post videos, could you please give a time so we know when to look.

Here is Mark/ Undertaker with Andrew/ Test who is between 6'5" and 6'6" and has been billed at 6'7"-6'8"-6'9".

Here is another pic, though there is a better one out there somewhere with 6'2-6'3" Rock, 6'1"-6'2" HHH, Wife Stephanie, Wife Sara and Undertaker.

Then again, here with Gregory Helms(6'0"???) he does look to be 6'6" instead.

With 6'7" Sid, but the Boots could have different sole sizes.

Another pic with 6'7" ish Sid and 5'9"-5'10" Teddy Long. Not a ver good quality pic though.

A pic with a fan, but its the door I want you to see. Most doors measure around 195 and 198cm, other door frames measure 203cm to 208cm. The place they're in looks really small though. So lets say 195cm, his head still looks an inch or so above so he's 6'6".

Hmmm there might be a pattern here. Mark may have lost an inch in height from his peak. So his peak could have been 6'7.5" and he could be around 6'6" now. Its a common thing for men above 6'2" to lose height at earlier ages and its even more common for athletes like Pro Wrestlers to suffer height loss due to injuries.

I've never heard Undertaker being billed at 6'7" in his early years and I have a 11-dvd compilation of his first years in wrestling.
He was billed 6'9" when he was the Master of Pain in CWA, 6'8" when he was the Punisher in USWA and 6'9" when he was Mean Mark Callous in WCW where Spivey was billed at 6'8".

Click Here Here is Sids promo from the 80's billing him as 6'7. So no way him or Undertaker could be over that, Undertaker and Sid are basicly the same height.

So 6'7 billed for Sid and Taker, and the barefoot of the matter is about 6'5 1/2 to 6'6 for both men. 6'4 for Barry Windham, 6'3ish for Hogan and Luger.

Bill Fralic may be 6'4 3/4 barefoot and 6'5 with his shoes on. Hill billy is basicly the same height as hulk 6'3 1/2 to 6'4.

Click Here In this Michael Myers interview at 1:54 Tyler man professes himself to be 6'8.

Also many wrestlers did wear lifts, Tiny lister wore lifts to appear taller than Hogan, Tiny was playing the menacing Zeus Tiny and Hulk are pretty much the same height. Paul wight wore Jacked up boots in the WcW to appear taller.

JBl is barely standing in Front of Mark, Undertaker between 6'5 and 6'6. If undertaker is 6'5 1/2 6'6 1/2 in shoes, the most I would give Undertaker maybe is 6'6 barefoot and 6'7 in his shoes.

Hogan is way under his billed height of 6'8, John studd is way under his billed height of 6'10, 6'5 for Studd, Undertaker and studd would be the same height. Undertaker was billed at 6'11 he is 6'5 standing next to JBL.

Bill Goldberg was billed 6'4 in WCW, Wilts early career height was 6'11, he could be 6'11 and some change so I'd go 7'1 in his shoes and put Kareem 7'1 barefoot and 7'2 in his shoes.

If Tyler Mane turns out to be 6'6 or 6'7 thats gonna pose a problem for Andre being 7'0 barefoot.
drummer777 said on 1/Nov/11
JBL is the same height as Undertaker, JBL is 6'5 1/2 lowest height I found for him. Goldberg was never 6'3 he is listed in football at 6'2 to 6'2 1/2. Look at the pic of JBl and Undertaker I put on my last post, same height.

Spivey is listed as 6'6 in Football at the most seeing him stand next to Fralic makes me think he is 6'5, Fralic is listed 6'5.

As for Kareem he is listed 7'1 and some change on this site, Wilt is shorter looks 6'11ish with Kareem, I think they exaggerated his height to make him 7'1.

Andre equals out in height next to wilt in his boots so 6'11 for Wilt and 6'10 for Andre. Tyler Mane being 6'8 puts Andre at 6'10. Kevin Nash is 6'8.

Tyler Mane went from 7'0, all the way down to 6'8, and they were saying he was 6'10 so people would think Kevin Nash was 6'10 when they wrestled together.

As For Andre if he was 7'0 it would of had to of been before his back surgery, Hard to tell because of trick photography to make him appear taller than 6'10 still taller than a 6'8 door.
Rikashiku said on 31/Oct/11

Andre The Giant 6'7" at 17, 6'10" at 22, 7'0" final??????

Kevin Nash 6'9"
Tyler Mane 6'8"
Undertaker 6'7.75"
Sid 6'7.75"
JBL 6'5
Bill Fralic 6'5
Big John Studd 6'5-6'6"???
DDP 6'4"
Hulk Hogan 6'3.5" 6'5" peak?
Triple H 6'2, 6'3" peak?
Bill Goldberg 6'2-6'3"?
Sting 6'1"
Booker T 6'0-6'1"

drummer777 said on 31/Oct/11
Well, how on earth did he grow to 6'11 and then shrink down to 6'7.5, Dan Spivey is listed as 6'6 in football offically, Next to Bill Fralic who is listed as 6'5 in football, Dan Looks 6'5 next to Fralic, You put Undertaker next to Dan Spivey Undertaker Looks 6'5. In his shoes I'd say 6'6.

6'7 is his billed height... I used to think Hogan was 6'5 but after seeing him with Troy Aikman, I think Hulk is 6'3 and a half. Undertaker could be 6'6ish in his barefeet, and 6'7 with his boots on.

Nash is listed 6'10 in basketball, but it turns out he is 6'8, When standing next to Tyler Mane who is 6'8. Nash had about 2 to 3 inches Over Spivey, Undertaker and Sid.

They had Ben Davidson of Football and Conan fame listed as 6'8 now I find out Ben is only 6'6 which puts Hulk at around 6'3 1/2 maybe 6'4. hes slightly shorter than 6'4 Troy Aikman.

If Troy Aikman is 6'4 barefoot, that would put him at 6'5 in his shoes, I think you can hogan up to 6'4 1/2 in his shoes.

FCW have actually downgraded a lot of wrestlers heights in recent months. Like Bo Rotunda was 6'3" but is now 6'1" and Big E Langston (who was listed as 6'0" in college football) has been downgraded to 5'11". Perhaps WWE is trying to be slightly more legit with the sizes of their wrestlers, which is good to see.

Everyone saying Show is below 7'0 is just plain crazy, he was within half an inch of the 7'1 Shaq with equal footwear on, at some times actually appearing taller than Shaq. It wasn't until O'Neal put on Basketball shoes with a 2 inch lift that he gained any discernible height advantage over show who was in his wrestling boots. Before you say Shaq's shoes didn't give him 2" above barefoot My own off the shelf size 9 tennis shoes give me a full 1 1/2" over barefoot height, so it's a good assumption that a pair of size 22s would give at least 2"

Didn't The Giant(Big Show) have some spinal fusion done after Big Kev dropped unfortunately right on the back of his next. He could have lost and inch or two from that. Not sure but 7'1 could be Big shows Height in shoes and he is really 6'11 to 7'0. Kevin Nash 6'8ish and Big show 6'11 to 7'0 looks right, he measured up to shaq.

Drummer77, if a wrestler has spinal fusion or neck fusion he'll be out of action for close to a year (or maybe even never). Big Show was only out for a few weeks. The whole angle that Nash broke Big Show's neck was I believe kayfabed, so Big Show could take a few weeks off to film his part in The Waterboy.

No way he is under 6'11 .
He looked every bit of 7'1 in the WCW.
No he looked to have shrunked due to bad posture and gaining weight but he still looks like a legit 7 footer when he stands tall

If Big Show is as low as 6'10 then Shaq is 6'11-6'11 1/2. No possible. I agree Big Shows peak was 7'0.5-7'1 and today looks at least 6'11

Don't turn to the dark side Danimal. Under 6'11'' still looks impossible today.

Assuming those are standard cinder blocks, that’s a full 88 inch cinder block wall Click Here Big Show comes out right around 7’4” in shoes, or the usual ~ 4 inch inflation over barefoot height from that camera angle. Given the shadows, he’s standing pretty close to that wall too.

Matching that wall up with the wall in the photo of Andre and Backlund yields Click Here Big Show probably has around a 0.75” footwear advantage.

So if Big Show is really under 6’11” now that would make this peak height Andre....

He's 6'10 today. But he is still one massive human being. He could have very well been 7 feet peak. He looks shorter these days.

I actually agree with you on this one believe it or not. I think he's at the high end of 6'10" and was over 7'0" easily in the WCW.

When in WCW, Big Show told Jay Leno that he was 7'3".

He told him 7'3.5", but 7'4" with the puffed up hair. I still have that episode of Jay Leno on a VHS tape. I believe he floated somewhere between 7'0" and 7'1" in the WCW (mid-late 1990's). Today seems to be a shade under 6'11". Definite height loss. Could be due to posture, or surgery. His massive weight and injuries along with horrible posture could have contributed to this premature height loss.
