KingNick: if Show has lost any height, then I doubt it happened over the last year or so or whenever it was that Khali and him first faced off. Look at the pic Big Show just posted. Their boots are very comparable, and still, the difference is the same as it usually is. This tells me that when Big Show is wearing his "bigger" boots, they don't offer any appreciable height advantage.
Now, anyone looking at the pic, seeing that their boots are the same size practically, how can anyone honestly say Khali has 1.5 to 2 inches on Show??
Gazz said on 7/Aug/08
Big Show with as good posture as Khali is the same height or maybe 0.25 shorter, there was a scene on smackdown where show lifted his fist up to Khali and they looked very very close in height, i think it was that particular time anyway lol
Big Show said on 7/Aug/08
It depends on how you look at it. Big Show's posture has become worse over the years. In his staredowns with Khali he never stood fully straight like he did with Kevin Nash in 1998. Does that count as height loss? Well if he can't stand up straight anymore, I think it does.
But even his bad posture didn't really result into drastic height loss. I think his bad posture maybe resulted in a 0.5" height loss at most.
His staredown with Khali in 2008 looks pretty much the same as the one with Kane in 1999.
Click HereClick HereAnd I don't think Big Show wore lifts in his WCW days.

Is there any real evidence that the Big Show has shrunk since WCW?
Does anyone have a pic of the staredown between Khali and Show from the first time they were in the ring together at the Saturday Night Main Event?
I remember Show being nearly the same size as Khali then as opposed to a full inch shorter now. If someone could post both photos we can compare the two and see if he's lost height.
Clay said on 7/Aug/08
Big Show is still a huge, very tall man today that is evident in the Khali staredowns. Im starting to think he hasnt lost any height what so ever, just bad posture.
topdweeb said on 6/Aug/08
Alex: yeah I think I would have to agree. He doesn't look any shorter to me. I think he definitely had better posture in WCW but other than that, there is no change. In other words, I think this is the "WCW Giant" squaring with Khali. I don't buy the, "I wish it was the old Show". I think the only thing that would help is that Wight had better posture in his WCW days and that's about it.
Alex said on 6/Aug/08
Topdweeb, I havne't seen any. I dont really think he has. I believe he was leaner back then with better posture and even at times its obvious he had some sort of lifts on too. All that into account makes some think he has shrunk a bit. Hes only 36 now and I am not sure if he's had any major surgeries to shrink. Maybe 1/2 inch at most he could have lost but even that I doubt.

Khali today reminds me SO much of the Big Show of old (WCW). They had the same hair do, posture and frame. I believe that Big Show would have been at least Khali's height back then. It's not fair that they have to have a face off a dozen years too late.
When it comes to size, yes. When it comes to wrestling ability he reminds me more of Giant Gonzales.

Annoyed: I didn't mean for my msg to sound like it was mean spirited, was just giving my opinion. Yes I did read your previous message. But I just wish people would get over it, in their ring attire there is no way Khali is more than an inch taller than Show. And I'm not the only one who has stated that, and in fact, I'm not even the first to make that claim.
This is why I said I can only give Khali a full inch over Big Show. I can't even see a full inch difference between the two. And people pointing out the Big Show's boots... even IF they did give him a slight advantage, Khali is not barefoot. But some people are trying to make it sound like because Big Show wears 1.5" boots, that means he has a 1.5" in advantage over Khali. It's not like that at all when you consider that Khali's boots look to be only slightly smaller than Show's.
Annoyed said on 2/Aug/08
Topdweeb ...brother.... i was just trying to give a wee spin on it, i think there would be an inch (which i state and bare in mind how an inch looks compared to these giants ) but id be willing to stretch to an inch and a half, and i eradicated the shoulder thing as i did say it was an optical illusion, did you even read my post? If you are just giving me your opinion in a friendly way thats cool but it seems your actually the one who is "annoyed" with me, but im not being a dick man i dont really care bro, im just saying, i personally think there is ONE INCH between them but 1.5 inches is a possibility, did u actually see how i blew apart all the arguments that big show was two and 3 inches smaller by measuring the pivot points and trying to be FAIR and factor in Khalis stance and Big Shows leaning neck. I am SPECULATING Khali MAY have lost about .5 to an inch of height in his stance and that Big show may have also lost an inch ( or possibley more ) due to his curved neck ( you do get height from your neck when straight, lean your next forward now topdweeb and then pull it back and straighten up you will see you can gain anywhere from an inch to two . Topdweeb, that was simply me speculating and asserting from ONE pic and i said theyre " could " be a 1.5" difference. personally i do believe the difference is only an inch but i would stretch to an inch and a half.... but 2 inches and anymore is ridiculous. But remember topdweeb, its just opinions brother. What is your take on their heights etc? and the heights of the other big guys?? ( Taker, Kane, Nash, Sid etc )
topdweeb said on 2/Aug/08
Annoyed: I don't see how you can look at the pic you posted and conclude there is a 1.5" difference between Khali and Show. I don't see that at all. And Khali haven't a wider stance doesn't amount to much a height loss at all. I mean, you have to have your feet apart at a considerable different to lose .5" of height. I think there are just a lot of people who are trying to exaggerate the height difference between Show and Khali.
Again, in their ring attire, I don't even see an inch of a difference between the two. Assuming that Show may have bigger boots or any other variables, I will concede that Khali is a full inch taller than Big Show. No way is he anymore than that. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Khali gives off an optical illusion of being a few inches taller than Big Show because he carries his shoulders height than Show, plus his chin and eye level is higher than Show's, which adds to the effect. But strictly look at the tops of their head, it is clear that he is barely edging Show out in height.
When I first saw Khali and Show go face to face, I initially thought Khali had the 3 inches on him and I even hastily posted on here that Khali was a lot taller. But then when JT analyzed the pics, I realized that I had got sucked right into the optical illusion that Khali gives of being so tall.
willy79 said on 1/Aug/08
Sorry but there is a bigger difference between Khali and Big Show than Andre and Wilt. So if Big Show is 7' and Khali is 7'1 and so was Wilt. Than Andrewas around 7'-7'1 during his prime and maybe that pic.
Annoyed said on 1/Aug/08
im assuming about three inches because that pic there is too all over the place perspective wise, in the Wilt Chamberlain book there is a pic my friend showed me of him and Andre and there is 3 inches max and 2 inches AT THE VERY LEAST but trust me, if you digg around im sure you will find a pic of them side by side, the angle in that pic favours Andre too much..look where his front leg is compared to Wilts...although Wilt is still about an inch and a half taller ( bare in mind what an inch compared to these two would look like!! ) id say if you go solely on that pic then without the angle advantage for Andre Wilt would still be at least 2 inches taller, plus Andre himself stated and im POSITIVE it is somewhere online that it was strange looking up to someone. Although he wouldnt have physically had to look up his intention is clear. If you look at my height estimations you will see i have always maintained Andre at being 7 foot but now i just dont, theres too much against him in my OPINION. try and find a good pic of the two though side byside, you'll see what i mean.

The difference between Show and Khali is around 1"-1.5" . In this picture i have drew a straight line through the pivot point of each foot and niether man is elevated despite big shows HEEL being thicker, obviousley it is the pivot and not the heel which dictates actual height gain, both men are getting around about 1 inch over their barefoot height. iN THE PIC IVE MADE I HAVE ALSO ERADICATED THEIR SHOULDERS AS khali has much Larger and higher shoulders which creates and optical illusion of even more height. when lookin at the pivot point and top of their heads in That particular pic, the difference seems a little less than an inch, but if you look at Khalis feet they are SLIGHTLY further apart than Big Shows so he will be losing 1/2 and inch to an inch but then if you look at Big Shows neck leaning forward he will be losing around an Inch himself. All together though, it goes to show that there really isnt alot in it between the two at all. Id give Khali: 7'1" and Show 7'0" or Khali 7'1.5" and Big Show still around 7 foot. and i recently joined the Andre the Giant NEVER being 7 foot crowd . i thought he just may have been but too many 6'10" references and measurements have swung me, plus look at Big Show in wcw with Hogan in the mid nineties and look at Andre with Hogan in the early 90's, there is a MUCH bigger difference with Big Show and Hogan than there is with Hogan and Andre and Hogan didnt lose 3 inches within 5 years or so. Plus Wilt Chamberlain has 3 inches on Andre and Wilt is a measured and LEGIT 7'1" .
Anyway here is my pic featuring pivot point, head height, no shoulders, like i said Khali loses about 1/2 and inch to an inch because his feet are wide apart, Big Show loses at least a whole inch cause his neck is leaning very forward . 7'0" Show and 7'1" Khali

Pippen is 6'7.5" and I think Rodman downgrades his height for the same reason Barkley does. Rodman has always looked 6'7" to me.

Rodman himself admitted he's 6'6" and he was shorter than 6'7" Scottie Pippen.

Yeah but I think Rodman's just doing what Barkley does and saying he's shorter than he really is to make his accomplishments at the PF position that much more impressive.
Look at pictures of Rodman with 6'7.5" Scottie Pippen and 6'4 7/8"
Michael Jordan and 6'7" seems accurate.
If you try to imagine Rodman without the hat in those picture then you'll see about 5 inches between them.

As JT said though, the bigger shoes provide very little overall height advantage, in fact they provide LESS than a 1/4" height advantage. Everyone here really should read Rob's "Heel Height Truth" article and learn how heel height really affects overall height. Heel thickness does not correlate directly with overall height gain because height is determined by the foot's pivot point, not the height of the heel.
topdweeb26 said on 28/Jul/08
Again, I don't even see an inch of a difference between Khali and Show in their stare downs. So even taking into account that Show might have slightly bigger soles, I would give them only an inch in difference.

Ola: how tall do you think Khali is?
KingNick said on 27/Jul/08
How do you guys not see a difference in footwear between Show and Khali? Here's where I stand, let me explain:
I think Show was either 6'11.5" or a full 7' at peak, which was not too long ago. Here's a clip from SNME where they had their first staredown. Here, I barely see .5" between the two, but Show still has bigger footwear (I can't find the actual staredown if someone has it pls post it)

Click Here It's not bad posture but still not as straight as Khali. Big Show's soles look like 1.25" under the foot pivot point whereas Khali's are around 1". That's 25% larger but still yields only a 1/4" advantage.

Click Here I definitely don't see less than 1" between the two and we have to take into account Big Show's shoes are bigger. I like Ray's estimates and I'm going to stick with Show 6'11" barefoot and Khali 7'1" barefoot and whatever their shoes are make them 1" apart.
Alex said on 26/Jul/08

Ray said on 26/Jul/08
Khali has a sure inch on Big Show from what I see and it does look like Show may have a slight .25-.5" boot advantage. So Khali IMO is around 1-1.5" taller then Show barefoot. Big SHow 6'11-6'11.5" and Khali 7'.05-7'1"
topdweeb said on 25/Jul/08
KingNick: no offense man, but I don't know what you're talking about. In those pics, I often struggle to even see a full inch between Khali and Show. And I'm not the only one who has said that. So I stand by what I have always said, there is at most an inch between Show and Khali (and that's taking into account that Show's boots are slightly bigger). I think Big Show is minimum 6' 11 and Khali is minimum 7'.

people place far too much emphasis on wrestling footwear on this site and this topic continues to be brought up again and again despite the fact that nearly all wrestlers wear the similiar sized footwear as each other at various points in history; look at orton in flat dress shoes he is every bit as tall as in gear, the same with edge in 0.7" converse he doesn't look 2 inches shorter next to guys like chavo or the major brothers wearing them.
here is kurt angle and big show both wearing footwear with identical heels (show having a size 18 5E foot and angle doesn't)

tell ya what I put it to you this way: I think Show's shoes give him 1.5" boost and Khali's give him 1.25" boost. Not MUCH of a difference but still a difference.
So if Show were 6'11" barefoot, his boots would make him 7'0.5"
If Khali were 7'1" barefoot, his would make him 7'2.25"
I'm sorry I know you guys disagree but I see more than an inch between the two.
And I also keep in mind the average wrestling boot (one not intended to give a lift) probably gives and extra .75" anyway
I think that explains the UT/Khali staredowns. I peg UT at 6'8" barefoot, 6'8.75" in shoes. There's your about 5" difference (5.5)
I think Kane's current shoes give him around 1.25" to 1.5" He seems to change them sometimes so I can't tell. I'm not sure if he's 6'8" or 6'8.5" barefoot, IMO

topdweeb said on 23/Jul/08
JT: Yeah, Big Show is WAY taller than Kane, and I agree, if he stood straight, he looks like he could get away with 5 inches on Kane. Khali and Show look to only have an inch difference.
JT said on 22/Jul/08
Click Here Kane's soles are every bit as large as Big Show's, but they aren't the platform shoes he has worn in the past. You could almost argue a 5 inch difference if Big Show stood straight. The sole height right under the center of the leg/pivot point of the foot, not at the back of the heel, is what counts. The soles have to be sloped that way or they'd be too uncomfortable/impractical to wear. Looks like Kane is getting the bloated steroid/growth hormone belly.
Click Here Just screwing around with the Kane and Haystack staredowns. If Big Show is around 440 lbs. now, he was probably around 375 lbs. early in his WCW career.
mike said on 22/Jul/08
i see a solid 2 inches between the two at least, that places show at 6,11".
Alex said on 22/Jul/08
What also gets me is Jason claimed 6'8-6'8 1/2 for Big Show and 6'11 for Khali. He would have to change his estimates based on these pictures because there is no way in hell Khali is 2.5-3 inches taller unless Big Show was wearing lifts.
Alex said on 22/Jul/08
Vegas, in the picture you just posted Khali still looks slightly taller and thats when Big Show is tiltiing his head up a bit. With that Khali has a full inch on Big Show, nothing more, nothing less I been saying for a while now.
topdweeb said on 22/Jul/08
KingNick: When Khali and Big Show stared down, we all took a very close look at their foot wear, and they were about the same. And, you're forgetting, even though Big Show might be wearing a good sized heal, his opponents aren't barefooted. If he is wearing a 1.5" heel, then that doesn't mean he has a 1.5" advantage over his opponent. If he is wearing 1.5" heal and Kane is wearing a 1" heal, then that only gives Big Show a .5" advantage which is hardly anything. So people gotta keep that in mind. And, Kane does wear pretty good sized heels himself, and his boots are so shiny, that there is a glare from the flash and his foot is angled, so it's not easy to get a really good view of his heel.
KingNick said on 22/Jul/08
I can in good conscious consider Big Show under 6'11" either, it just makes me wonder how tall Khali really is. He has to be at least 7'1" if not more if Show is wearing those things.

I still don't think Big Show is quite 7 feet. Standing next to a 6'4 wrestler (forget dudes name) he looks i'd say 5-6 inches taller. I'd give him 6'10. Just my sight though (no I don't wear glasses :-p)
Also, those heights are often times billed---perhaps either Big SHows height is intentinoally inflated, or "that 6'4 guy"s height was, or both even I don't know.

Anyone who thinks Brock Lesnar's display of strength isn't impressive try doing this experiment for me. Brock Lesnar weighs approximately 280 lbs back in his days in WWE, and Big Show was probably over 500 lbs but since he was billed at 500 lbs, we'll use that conservative number. Okay, that means Big Show weighs 44% more than Brock Lesnar does. This is what I want: find someone who is about a foot taller than yourself, and weighs about 44% more than you do. Go for a 20 minute hard jog (it has to be a hard jog in order to compensate for the fact that Brock isn't just working out for 20 minutes during the match, he is having to constantly life Show up throughout the match which drains a lot of strength). Once you're done with that hard jog, go to your friend and see if you can get him into the position to F5 him, tell him not to resist. Do you think you'd be able to do it? Just to give you an idea, if you weigh 200 lbs, then this would be someone who weighs approximately 288 lbs.

When you are doing a squat with a barbell the weight is divided on the 2 ends of the barbell. Because the weight is divided equally over both sides, squatting 500 lbs is a lot easier than squatting a 500 lbs man, because the weight isn

Ask anyone who understand strength... that lift karelin made, SHOULD be impossible. AND yes, in show wrestling they always been helped by their opponents!
Yes I have! I have seen feats of strength in a Pro-wrestling ring which were more impressive than that reverse body lift which is shown in your video. Sure it's impressive the way Karelin performed the move (btw that's not a 130 kg man! The max weight class in which Karelin mostly wrestled was up to 130 kg, and the other guy hardly looks like 130 kg to me), but it

So what? Ola, I am very familiar with collegiate/freestyle type of wrestling. Like I said, I wrestled for 6 years myself. Someone Kurt Angle's size taking down a bigger opponent who doesn't know how to wrestle back, isn't that impressive at all. Currently right now, if you put me against someone who is bigger than me, but that person doesn't know how to grapple, I would be willing to be $500 that I would get him to the ground.
"topdweeb26 if you were not impresse by that video then its your problem."
Umm, not exactly, you're the one trying to convince me that it is a great display of strength. When you're the one trying to convince someone else of something, then it is your problem not theirs. You're trying to do a slight of hand tactic called, "shifting the burden of proof." Sorry, when you're trying to convince someone else to believe what you do, the burden is on you.
WWE is trying to get more "real" wrestlers probably because of Kurt Angle's success in pro-wrestling, and because it gives their "sport" more legitimacy; it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with their strength.

Even when Big Show F5ed Big Show I found it impression. Remember thats 450lbs of barebell weight. That was a 450lb human body and very wide, not like a skinny barbell. To get him up there I wasn't too suprised but the first time he did it, he turned him a good half way around. Same when Goldberg gave him the Jackhammer in WCW, impressive.
topdweeb26 said on 10/Jul/08
Ola: 130kg is only about 286 lbs. Sure that guy is strong, no doubt about that. But even after 20 minute matches, Brock Lesnar was able to take the over 500 lbs Big Show and F5 him. I realize that Big Show is helping and not resisting, but I don't care--that's over 500 lbs. Help or not, holding 500 lbs after 20 minutes of being exhausted is incredible. And, not to mention that Brock's is actually more impressive when you consider that Big Show outweighed him by at least 200 lbs (which is a HUGE difference). That video you showed, the guys are basically the exact same weight (I wrestling for 6 years myself, they are very strict about weight classes).
Brock's strength displays are much more impressive when you consider Brock would be performing for 20 minutes, he is at least 200 lbs lighter than Big Show, and even though Big Show isn't resisting, either way you slice it, 500 lbs is 500 lbs.

Alex, body slams in wrestling is not THAT hard to do actually. its the opponent who is making the whole thing... all you need is to ROTATE him, not exacly LIFT him... but it still alot of weight to rotate if we are talking guys like yokozuna. If you want to talk strength then look at this, arguably the most impressive display of strength i have ever seen Click Here NO other human on this planet can do that
I've seen bigger displays of strength than that in pro-wrestling. If you think that's impressive you should really watch more pro-wrestling. There are a few guys in pro-wrestling past or present who could do stuff in the ring which were unbelievable (whether or not they were helped by there opponent).

Ola: I don't think Andre was as heavy as Yokozuna. I have never seen Yokozuna properly body slammed, i.e. fully rotated. It was always the wrestlers pick him up and basically drop him. And you could easily tell Yokozuna assisted in the bodyslam by jumping.
Anyway, that feat of strength you showed.. I have a very hard time believing Brock Lesnar wouldn't be able to do something like that. In fact, I wouldn't even think that even comes close to being on of the most impressive feats of strength I have seen.
JT: I still stand by what I said. Hercules was able to get Hogan up on his shoulders, but he wasn't properly racking him. Watch the way he or Lex Luger racks people who are smaller. Hercules basically picked him up and just laid Hogan across his shoulders, and didn't even do it for that long.
Brock Lesnar, Batista, Cena, Triple H, Lex Luger, Scott Steiner, Davey Boy Smith, etc. all had more impressive physiques than Herc the Jobber and they were bigger too.
Alex: oh yeah, there are a ton of people who would be able to slam Bundy. I remember once Bundy lost to Henry Godwin a long time ago, and Godwin bodyslammed him with no problem, and Godwin wasn't even considered a super-strength wrestler.

Mark Henry but he has muscle too. Hercules was big but comparing him to guys in WWE now he's only average. Hogan at his peak would still be big even compared to the guys today.
topdweeb26 said on 7/Jul/08
Alex: agreed, Cena is pretty huge himself. His neck seems a little thin for the rest of his body though. It's pretty amazing how much bigger the wrestlers are now compared to the majority in the 80's and early 90's. Remember Hercules the jobber who couldn't win a match to save his life? He wasn't even that buff, but back in those days they tried to bill him as some super strong freak (though he didn't do a single amazing feat of strength). Compare him to today's wrestlers, and he'd be no one special whatsoever. Hogan is huge, and back then it was rare to see anyone bigger than him. In today's wrestling, he would only be about average.

Alex: yeah, same here, 6" is about the middle of my nose, just as Brock Lesnar is clearly to the middle of Akebono's nose. I mean, that's pretty strong evidence if you ask me that Akebono is 6' 8 if Lesnar is 6' 2. And, if Akebono is 6' 8, then Big Show is 7' minimum since he had at least 4 inches on Akebono. Funny how all of this is falling into place, and I have always said Big Show is 7'.
Alex said on 4/Jul/08

On me, that comes approximately to the middle of my nose, which happens to be where Brock Lesnar comes to Akebono. I stand by my opinion, that that photo clearly shows Akebono is 6" inches taller than Lesnar.
Alex said on 4/Jul/08
Akebono's eye level is probably 4.5 inches and Lesnar is at least an inch under his eye level so minimum 5.5 inches there. How much did Big Show have Lesnar by? A few staredowns is only looked 6-7 inches because Lesnar was looking up and Big Show down but when Big Show was straight up there was an easy 9 inches between the 2.
Danimal said on 4/Jul/08
If Akeebono is 6'8", which I believe he is, then Lesnar is MAX 6'2" and could be as low as 6'1". All that more impressive for a 2005 Big Show, who had at least 4" on Akeebono.

Alex said on 3/Jul/08

The ECW now is just another version of the old Sunday Night Heat but with a title.
topdweeb26 said on 27/Jun/08
Alex: yeah... is the ECW title "supposed" to be as high as the WWE or World title? I pretty much figure it this way: whatever title is the big title on RAW, that is the highest title in the WWE, becuase RAW is the WWE's biggest show. Smackdown is 2nd, and ECW is a very distant 3rd. It's actually kinda funny in a way. Because before WWE bought out all of the competition, WWE's two biggest competitors were WCW and ECW. I always viewed WWE as the best, WCW as the second and ECW as total crap. And with the WWE championship on RAW, WCW's title belt on Smackdown, and then ECW, it all kinda comes up like that. RAW is awesome, Smackdown is okay, and ECW is total crap.
Not only is the ECW championship nothing, the brand is treated like it is nothing. Remember that time Triple H and John Cena was to take on the entire ECW roster including Kane, the champion? So basically they make ECW seem weak when it only takes 2 guys from RAW to defeat their entire roster. Not to mention ECW only won one match last Monday and were the first team to be eliminated in the battle royal. ECW is basically a "wrestling Siberia". It's where wrestlers go when WWE doesn't know how to fit them into the storylines on RAW or Smackdown.
Alex said on 27/Jun/08
I was a big WWF/WWE fan. I started watching as a young kid in early 2001 just after Undertaker made his debut in WWF. I got more heavily into it in by 1993 though. I was even more into by 98-2003. By 2004 things I think started going a bit down hill after Wrestlemania 20 but still watchable. 2005 had its ups and downs but was still a pretty decent year and very watchable. 2006 got worser but I was still able to watch it for the most part, well at least Raw. But 2007 I was pretty much getting out of it as it got bad and 2008 is even worse as I can almost never watch it. I may flip to the channel for a few minutes is all. But since I am a big fan of Big Show and he's my only top favorite wrestler remaining I still like to see his matches.

30lbs in how long? I know it was only around 2 months ago you told me about wanting to lose it. You probably lose some muscle mass along with fat. What do you weigh now though? How much did your measurements go down? I am still in the 195-200lb range. I wanna at least maintain that in the summer and perhaps get to 220lbs in the fall/winter. I'll see as time goes on because I dont wanna put on too much body fat along the way.
I hit my all-time high bodyweight of 220 pounds in mid-February. From February until April I went down to 205-210. Since April I've dropped down to 190 pounds. I basically reduced my calorie intake and upted the cardio. I've lost some serious size and some strength in the gym, but am more cut now. My goal is to get down to 180 pounds. I'll tell you, it feels better to be lighter. At 220 pounds I was strong, very strong, but my endurance was taking a beating. I was constantly winded. I don't think I'll be bulking up again any time soon. I think 200 pounds even is probably a good weight for you Alex. Definetely not over 220 pounds. When you gain weight, do you gain on your stomach too? I sure do.

I think Glenn Jacobs is awesome as a wrestler and from every source I heard a human being, but I think the character has gone way down hill. Ever since he lost the mask the character was never the same. I think WWE allowed the character to go in that direction, but in terms as an in ring performer Kane is one of the best in my opinion.

I wouldn't say Kane sucks. WWE just held him back for sometime. I was never a big Kane fan but I never disliked him. I liked him more before 2002. He's doing pretty decent right now though.
Most of the time I've seen around 5 inches between A-Train and Big Show, but one staredown I swear it looked 2 inches or 3 at the most, but this was backstage and we know how we can't trust backstage.

Big Show: well when you think about it, they probably didn't care that Kane is the ECW champion. It's pretty evident, that the ECW championship is not on the same level as the wWE or World Heavyweight championships. If it is, then why does the ECW champion participate in the Royal Rumble for a chance to win the "grand" prize of either the WWE or World titles? Also, when the World Championship was vacant a few weeks ago on Smackdown, and they had a tournament to see who the number one contender would be, the ECW champion participated in it.
So Kane having the ECW title probably didn't really get him off the hook of having to job to anyone.
As for Rey Mysterio.. you know the guy is talented, he does a lot of entertaining stuff, but I really hate to say this, but he is too small to be taken seriously as a pro-wrestler in my opinion. I mean, I remember the first WWF event I went to where I got to see the wrestlers up close. I remember everyone complaining (including me) saying, "Oh these guys are small!" and truthfully, they were. They were the wrestlers in the 5' 8 to 5' 11 range. It wasn't until Sycho Sid came out that we finally got to see someone who wasn't just an "ordinary person". So anyway, that's how I reacted (as did the people around me) when we saw wrestlers in the 5' 8 - 5' 11 range. I couldn't imagine what we'd think if we saw puny 5' 3 Mysterio walking out and this is supposed to be a pro-wrestler.
The guy's got talent, if he didn't, then he wouldn't have ever made it on television. But in wrestling, cosmetics is like 90% of the battle, and Mysterio just doesn't have it physically. And I hate saying this, I almost always root for the little guys to do well because I'm not exactly a giant myself.

Click HereIn Japan Albert was listed at 198 cm (6'6) so we can be pretty sure he ain't taller than that.
Tuga the soles on Albert's boots are nothing out of the ordinary. No way are they bigger than a custom 1.25" sole (which is pretty average for wrestling boots). He could have a 0.5" shoewear advantage on Taker, but that's it. That would put Taker at 6'7 max in 2001. Not sure if he lost height. I know he had several injuries prior to 2001, but did he ever require surgery?
Topdweeb26, Kane on his worst day is still 10 times better than
Mark Henry, who's regarded as the biggest faillure in the history of the WWE. I don't know why the WWE keeps pushing this guy? The guy has a very limited repertoire of moves and fans hate him (although that might be in his benefit seeing as he plays a heel).
What kind of surprised me though is that Kane, who's a face and a champ, would loose cleanly to a heel in a non-title match. Unless you're called Rey Mysterio, that rarely happens.

Does this change your opinion on peak height for Taker Alex? He does not look over 6'7" with 6'6" Albert in their 2001 Face-Off. Could it be that he was never really 6'8"? I still say though that he lost height after 2000.

Alex2 said on 22/Jun/08
Alex, I know you got that from Gerweck, he could be, but he COULD be 7'2" like some sources say, we will never know lol. WWE recently said Khali is 7'4" man they need to sort out their billings for these giants!
Alex said on 22/Jun/08
1 full inch between Big Show and Khali I think is most accurate.
topdweeb26 said on 22/Jun/08
Sometimes I struggle to even see a full inch between Khali and Show. When people start saying Khali is 2 or more taller than him, I begin to wonder if we are looking at the same pics, or if these people are looking at the tops of their heads. I can almost see the 2 inch different if I look at their eye level, chin level and stuff like that. But height is based on the top of the head, nothing else.
Alex said on 22/Jun/08
I dont see 2 inches between Show and Khali though. I read that Khali's legit height is really 7'0.5 and if thats true then that makes Big Show in the 6'11 range. Around 6'11 1/2. That may be a very logical.

KingNick: I think it is pretty obvious that WWE thinks its fans are a bunch of gullible idiots. And sad thing is, if you ask the average wrestling fan how tall Kane is, they would probably tell you 7'.
Again, it frustrates me because it really waters down Big Show, a legit 7'. It makes him not seem that special, because it gives the impression that 7' wrestlers are actually pretty common.
KingNick said on 20/Jun/08
If you look closely at JT's pic Kane has some massive footwear going on. Also, he's standing up straight for once. I say he's still no less than 6'8" barefoot but 6'10ish in shoes.
I know this drives everyone else crazy too, but can anyone figure out why the WWE bills both Kane and Show at the same height yet Show is clearly taller no matter what the footwear??
topdweeb26 said on 20/Jun/08
No, from the eyebrows to the top of the head is about 4 inches, so I would say Show has about 4 1/4 inches on Kane. This makes Kane's 7' billing even more stupid.

7ft2 billed height for Show would be perfect, also 6ft3 or 6ft4 for Henry. Have no idea who is responsible for this, but this is just flat out stupid.
Alex said on 17/Jun/08
Alex 2, they're still billing Big Show and Kane both at 7'0. And they're facing each other for the ECW title so they're hyping it even more. Really needs a change. At least say Kane is 6'10 and Big Show 7'0. Its more than 2 inches between them but saying 2 inches is better than saying they're the exact same. I think since they bill Khali at 7'3 they should bill Big Show at 7'2 and just have Kane at 6'10.

Typhoon wasn't under 360 , 384 seems legit to me at his natural disaster epoch , maybe even more ( they didn't update everyday , i'm around 200 and can go as high as 218/220 in a month when i'm not pushing on the cardio so I guess a 350/400pounder must be able to give/take 20+pounds rather easily )
Big Show was no way under 7' at his WCW epoch , hell I'd even give him 7'1 when he was leaner ( around 380/400 ) he had 3 inches at least on Nash back then ...
But he definitely lost some height when he put on around 100 pounds ( due to having his pituary gland removed , prolly because HGH is the hormone that helps keeps you lean )

Alex2, just because Rob says something, it does not make it a fact. I doubt Rob ever met 95% of the stars on this site (no offense Rob). I HAVE met Bret and he was not over 5'11" and btw, that is what he was billed at until the early 1990's, where they gave him a boost to 6'1". Same goes for Davey Boy Smith, who they gave a 4" boost in height to.

Vegas: No, you example of Typhoon vs. Bam Bam is wrong. I watched the match on Youtube recently, and the announcer announced Typhoon as 486 pounds. In response to that, Monsoon asked Perfect,
Monsoon: "How many pounds did he say Typhoon was?" And Perfect said, "486 pounds".
Monsoon: "486?! I don't think so!"
Perfect: "He wouldn't lie."
BTW, it is in my opinion, he had to really be 486 lbs, beause Mr. Perfect said so, and he was the perfect commentator.
Ola: He had to be heavier than 320 lbs. I have a friend who is legitimately 320 lbs, and he is only about 5' 11 and definitely not as big as Typhoon was.
Alex said on 2/Jun/08

ottman was billed at 384lb by the ring announcers in the WWF as both tugboat and typhoon, loads of examples on youtube such as against perfect, bigelow, hogan, tenta, taker
the commentators as usual were clueless, monsoon in one match said "close to the 500lb mark" and perfect said 486lb
topdweeb26 said on 1/Jun/08
KingNick: Yeah, I watched it again today, and the announcer said Typhoon was 486 lbs. And Monsoon said, "How many pounds did he say Typhoon was?" Mr. P replied with, "486 lbs", Monsoon: "486? I don't think so." Mr P. "He wouldn't lie".
So I don't think they were in on it or something. The same thing kinda happened at Rampage '91 or something like that when the Undertaker faced the Ultimate Warrior. When the Undertaker came to the ring Alfred Hayes said something like, "This is a huge man, what do you think he is, about 6' 6 or 6' 7?" and Sean Mooney said, "Oh, taller than that. About 6' 9" and Hayes said, "6' 9" (questioningly)... in fact, when the UT debuted, the commentators were saying he was 6' 10 and Piper was one of the commentators, and he said, "6' 10? I don't know about that, but he is tall". Funny now that I think about it.
As for Typhoon vs. Bam Bam... it was an ok match... but we all knew who'd win. There were always wrestlers who were just one notch ahead of being a full-time jobber. Those wrestlers were: Dino Bravo, Hercules, Tito Santana, and Typhoon. What's really sad is when those guys face each other and one of them has to lose.. because the one who loses realizes he is the ultimate jobber.. that being Hercules. He's lost to Tito Santana, and lost all the time to Dino Bravo.. don't know if he ever faced Typhoon/Tugboat.
