Also Hogan underwent his first back surgery in 1990. In 1990 he took a few months off before he first wrestled Earthquake at Summerslam 1990 so this is probably when he had the surgery.

And apparently lost 1.25" from that 1990 back surgery. This was according to Hogan himself in an old interview.

The thing a lot of you are missing,if hogan was 6'6''-7''he would have been about 6'9-10''in cowboy boots most have 2''-3'' heals he has never looked that height,90% of the pics he looks about 6'5''Dont belive he could have lost 4'' in height because he is at best 6'3''now that is more than Dave Prowse who had 7 hip ops has lost and he has got one leg longer than the other now,and you can forget any talk of Stallone being any 5'10'5'' if he had been 5'10''+ no one would have sayed he was short, that would have made him 5'11.5''in he's shoes no one that height would be fort of has short,Hogan was arownd 6'5''give or take 1/2''

when hogan took time off from wwf (between april and july 1990) he was filming suburban commando and wrestling in japan, i have posted proof of that on here on more than one occasion

Yes. Hogan's knees ARE bent in the pic with Quake. Quake is standing straight up. I think both men were even height at Summerslam. Hogan a minimum of 6'5.5". The Match I posted from with the so called Camera angle advantage was before his back surgery. It's quite possible he was 6'6" there.

Red you bring up a good point on Tenta's measurement; it's VERY DOUBTFUL that they measured him the first thing in the morning when he rolled out of bed. It was probably mid-day which means he could've lost upto a half an inch of height over the course of the day.

Hogan didn't have a boot advantage over Earthquake. Both men were wearing double layer boots 0.5". I can post pictures of Hogan and Quake's boots from that era. They were the exact same.

As for the camera angle, it doesn't favor Hogan.

the hasselhoff picture suggests that hulk could be closer to 6-3 than 6-4 these days because they were both wearing boots. i agree with 6-6 peak and 6-3.5 sounds close enough for his current height, but he could be slightly less. if he had another hip replaced then miko is right, he could be 6-2 and change by the time he's 60.

chaz, leung is right. Click Here in that video brigitte nielsen says sly is 5-10 or 5-10 1/2.

Hogan was shorter than Earthquake even with his footwear advantage (probably 1/4" to 1/2"). This is about the closest they came to a staredown.

Many are discounting the fact that Hogan had possibly already lost some height by the time he faced PEAK SID and PEAK Taker. It has been said that he underwent back surgery in 1990 and lost 1 1/4" due to that first surgery. I believe that he was the FULL 6'6" up until 1990 and then he dropped down to 6'4 3/4" after that and remained that height up until 2000 and then he lost another 1.5" from neck, back, knee surgery (which he had in the late 90's) and a hip replacement.

Who knows what he's down to now after his recent SECOND hip replacement?

Hogan was 6'6 peak. His peak height would have been from the late 70's before he even became famous. People pick out a photo from the 90's or even the 2000's and say see he's not 6'6 so he was not 6'6 peak. He was 6'6 30-35 years ago when he was 21-24yr old. 1974-1977 and probably held it until about 1986 when he was in his 30's and had already be in the the wrestling biz for 10 years and started to break down. Like any pro athlete.

Here compare hulk with Rocky and 6'4.24" Dolph Lundgren(Although Dolph claimed 6'5 for himself) and Hogan comes out seveal inches taller. Look at him with 6'5 Carrey and 6'8 Davidson and he comes out at very least 6'6. Look at him with 6'2 1/2 Ali or 6'5-6'5.5 HillBillyJim and he comes out 6'6. Compared here with 6'5 3/4 John Tenta and he comes out 6'6. Compared with 6'6-6'7 One Man Gang he's 6'6. Compared with 6'5-6'5.5 peak Lister with Lister Having a footware advantage he comes out 6'6. Compared to 6'4 George Foreman again he looks at in the 6'6 ballpark. He was noticably taller than a peak 6'4.5 Lou Ferrigno and the host commented on it that he was actually bigger than the Hulk and that's how he got the Hulk nickname in wrestling. I think Rob has it right on the money for a peak Hogan.

Yes, after seeing Electric Shock's pics, gives us the clearance that Hogan was not over 6'6" in his prime. Most people also think that Hogan was just 6'5.5" barefoot. He just reached 6'7" with his wrestling boots and he claimed that height. And the reason why Hogan looks so many inches taller than 6'0.5" Greg on this pic is because Hogan stood closer to the photo camera.

Basically, Hogan in his .5"-.75" inch wrestling boots, would be a hair under 6'7". Barefoot, he was a legit 6'6" till about his WCW days.

Keibler is billed as 5"11, personally I think she's about 5"10, maybe a little less as she doesn't look as tall as 5"10.5 Brooke Hogan.

If you look closely she's in 2" heels on that video. Which puts her around 6"0, the same height that 5"9 Stallone was in his 3" munsters - it all makes perfect sense.
Big King said on 20/May/09

the pictures and the youtube clip of making the rocky vs thunderlips movie you can all se that their is no foot wear adavantage for none of them..i don't really buy that stallone is or was a full 5'10 maybe a weak 5'9 or a 5'8.5 but no more..if stallone was 5'9 then Hogan was maybe 6'5..the difference is about 8 inches between them..like i said before Hogan was in the range of 6'5, 6'5.25 or 6'5.5 and no moore..i most give hogan a peak height of 6'5.25 (196cm) in wrestling gear he was maybe 6'6.25 and that's way he was billed as 6'7 and 6'8 beacuse that's how the audience will see him..
Boss said on 19/May/09
Also Stallone claims 5'10 1/2 and 5'10 3/4 for himself as you can see on Stallone's Celeb heights page and is known to wear lifts. Why would a Rocky 3 site lie about Hogan being 6'6 and the height difference in the movie was the actual height difference between the two. Then look at them together in 2005. It is clear Hogan lost several inches in height. Whether Stallone was 5'10 or not barefoot doesn't really matter because he made himself appear to be a 5'10 guy through his footware.

FOR ALL THOSE who want to see Hogan's LEGIT height loss go to Hilbilly Jim's website and look at how Hogan was taller than Hilbilly both in 1985 AND in 1989 (before any height loss occured) by about 1" and then look at their 2004-2005 pic together standing side by side and Hilbilly now has 2" on Hogan.

Hogan Peak - 6'6".
Hogan NOW - 6'3".

Hogan claimed to have lost 1 1/4" from BACK surgery in 1990. Hogan seemed to start wearing some a knee brace in the late 90's (possibly his SECOND surgery...FIRST on his KNEES). Hogan was A LOT more than only .5" shorter from WCW to his return to the WWE. His neck was VISIBLY shorter (neck operation). He seemed to have had MORE knee surgery (seeing he was wearing 2 HUGE knee braces) and he had his FIRST hip replacement as well).. From 2002 onward, age and possibly MORE surgeries have reduced his height even MORE...

Here's a biography on Hulk Hogan. Listen to what Hogan has to say at 3:39. He only talks about his bad knees. If he really had neck surgery and a hip replacement I'm sure he would've mentioned it.
As for his back surgery in 1990. Hogan was only out for 4 months. Do you honestly believe he had a major spinal fusion surgery that caused him that amount of height loss (which is huge) and be back wrestling full-time in that short amount of time. On top of that he fueded the rest of 1990 against the heaviest wrestler in the WWE at the time and had no problem with bodyslamming him.
Shawn Michaels had major back surgery in 1998 and was out for several years, yet Hogan came back in 4 months?
The reason Hogan claimed to have back surgery was because of the storyline angle he was in with Earthquake at the time. Earthquake hurt Hogan so bad he wasn't seen in the WWE for several months. But that was a storyline. The reason he left the WWE was to film the movie Suburban Commando.

Danimal, do you have a link to where Hogan said that or do you remember where he did? I certainly think that's possible the point I was making was that Hogan lost his height gradually over his career. A 2.5" - 3" height loss is a lot.

Hogan was actually taller than Zeus. In that staredown Zeus is coming out 1/2 an inch taller than Hogan with a 1 inch boot advantage. I've seen Lister listed as 6'5.5".

Jake Roberts also wore MASSIVE boots. His boots gave him about 1.5" of lift.

here's a run down of Hogan and a bunch of guys from that era:

Andre- 6'11.25"+ .25"= 6'11.5" in boots
Undertaker- 6'8.25" + 0.5"= 6'8.75 in boots
Sid- 6'7.25" + 1"= 6'8.25" in boots

Hogan- 6'6"+ .5"= 6'6.5" in boots
John Tenta- 6'5.75" + .5"= 6'6.25" in boots
Tiny Lister- 6'5.5" + 1.5"= 6'7" in boots
Jake Roberts- 6'5"+ 1.5"= 6'6.5" in boots
Tugboat- 6'4.75"+ .5= 6'5.25" in boots
Big Boss Man- 6'4.5" + .5"= 6'5" in boots
Ted Dibiase- 6'4.25" + .5"= 6'4.75" in boots (before 1990. Was 6'3.75" by 91, and by the time he retired, was barely 6'3". Today stands in the 6'2" range)
Lex Luger- 6'4" + .5"= 6'4.5" in boots.
Warlord- 6'4" + .5"= 6'4.5" in boots
King Kong Bundy- 6'3.5"+ 1= 6'4.5" in boots
Rick Rude- 6'3.5" + .5"= 6'4" in boots
Ultimate Warrior- 6'2.25"+ .5"= 6'2.75" in boots
Yokozuna= 6'1.75" (barefoot)

Sid towers over him there (pretty funny spot actually, Sid goes to the wrong corner and Hogan says, "Over there, brother.") Also pause at 10:17 Click Here

IMO, Hogan started losing his height by WM9 he's noticeably shorter. Look at him next to Beefcake: Click Here

IMO, Hogan MAY have been 6'4" in that video with Sid and 6'3.5" by the time he came back to the WWE

He's only the same height as Scott Hall with his heeled-boots here in 1996:

Your 3rd pic is biased. I have that match and Sid was on his tip toes at that moment.

Second of all, I don't believe Hogan lost any real noticeable height from 1990-2000 (only fractional). I believe Hogan's FIRST significant height loss occurred in 1990 (over 1" height loss) and his second was POST WCW/pre WWE (1.5" more).. Comparing a 1989 Hogan with a 2002 Hogan is like comparing a PEAK Clint Eastwood with an 80 year Clint Eastwood.

This was BEFORE Hogan's MASSIVE height loss (when he returned to wrestling in 2002 in the WWE he was NOTICEABLY shorter than he had been when he left the WCW in 2000). I believe his NECK was shorter, his posture seemed more curved, his knees seemed to be more bent and I believe he had a hip replacement (all within 2 years). Hogan had a hippie head of hair back in 1977-78, and perfect posture, I believe he was a big 6'6 small 6'7, about 6'6.25. He lost about an inch down to 6'5.25 by the mid-late 80's when he went bald. He lost about an inch down to 6'4.25 by the late 90's when he started having killer surgeries to neck/back/knees and now has lost about a half an inch down to 6'3.75 at age of 56. He will probably lose another half inch if he lives to about 75. That is the breakdown, beleivable 2.50 loss total for all those factors. 6'6.25 1977-6'5.25 1987-6'4.25 1997-6'3.75 2009. Weight 312 1982, 290 1989, 274 1998, 275 now.

Hulk had his arms measured on the Rachael Ray show recently at 20 inches. He's almost 60 and his arms are still 20 inches so 22 or more at his max is very possible.

My close friend is 6'3" and 290 pounds and Hogan had 2-3" on him and was MUCH larger, considering my friends arms measure only 18-19". hogan was easily 320-340 pounds at his heaviest and later dropped to 300-310 POST Rocky III and later to 285-295 pounds POST 1986 and 255-270 POST 1992.

Here Hogan is taller than 6'5 tiny Lister. Lister is standing on his tip toes and is standing straight whereas Hogan is clearly leaning toward Lister. Lister is wearing platform shoes as well. So how tall would a 6'5-6'5.5 be in platforms standing on his tip toes.

Hulk Hogan 6'5.5 and 300 pounds (peak) billed as 6'7 303 (WWF) later 6'7 275
Brock Lesnar 6'2 and 280 pounds (peak) billed as 6'3 295
Bill Goldberg 6'3 and 275 pounds (peak) billed as 6'4 290

about weight. does enybody remember Lee Priest the famous short body builder. He is somewhere around 5'4-5'4.5 and he once weighted when he of course was off season 270 pounds but then he was very bulked up with very much body fat so if a 5'4 guy can weight 270 pounds why couldn't a peak 6'5.5 Hogan be at least around 300-305 pounds. I believe the hulkster weighted at his most 305 pounds that was somewhere between 1978-1980. I know this is celebheights and don't celebweights.:)

Something has to be done about the above picture, if Gregg is 6'0.5 Hogan is about 6'7.75 - 6'8. He only comes up to the tip of Hogan's nose. Mr T. who was only suppose to be 5'11 came up to about Hogan's eybrows when they both had the same footware on. Either Gregg is about 5'9 or Mr T was about 6'2.5 I suspect that Mr T was 6'0 and Greg was 5'10 and Hogan was 6'6

I think that 350lbs for a peak Hogan is high, but only a little. It's amazing how heavy guys can weigh when they are juiced on roids. Hogan was about the same exact size as NFL Tony Manderich when he was juiced up, both were 6'6 They could have both been a body double for each other in a movie in about 1988-89. I have no trouble thinking that a peak 1981-1982 Hogan was as heavy as a 1988 Manderich, and he was 327lbs in 1988. I can see Hogan as high as maybe 330, but no lower than 320. Again, I'm talking peak juiced weight.

Lesnar`s height in the WWE was inflated just by an inch, and his weight pretty much spot on. Strange, but WWE has no logic.
Batista really was 360 lbs+ at one time. Of course, anything but ripped. ;)
But he was.

thing is, WWE doesn't inflate former pro footballer's weights or heights that much, because we can easily get a listing of what they were listed at in their former sport. Examples of this are Tito Santana (245 pounds), Junk Yard Dog (280 pounds), The Rock (who weighed MORE in football than in wrestling), Bill Goldberg (280-290 pounds), Brock Lesnar (290 pounds), Lex Luger (265-280 pounds). All those guys weights were LEGIT and their heights were inflated by 1 or MAX 2", which would have been their height in shoes anyways.

allso you cannot ban Ola just cos most on here belive Hogan was 6'6''amd 340lbs and had 24''arms and Ola dose not,and Danimal may be ok at estimating height, but his weight estimates are way out about 35lbs out Hogan was at best 6'5.5''305lbs with 21''arms,and not much else.and if you want to see real power and mass give Kaz a page on here.

I am not way off. Hogan was easily 320 pounds in around 1980... EASILY.. his arms were in the neighborhood of 22" at that time. Kaz was an incredible man. I used to IDOLIZE him. I religiously watch the 1981 strong man competition at least once a year to see him in the beer keg loading, when he literally tossed those kegs from 15-20 feet and how he hoisted those logs over his head with such ease. Hogan cannot and should not be compared with Kaz. It's comparing apples and oranges. Hogan looked a lot more like Lars Hedlund who weighed around 310-315 pounds and was only 6'3". Add 2-3" and you get that extra 20 pounds.

I agree with Rob's estimates of Hogan's peak and current height. I saw Boss posted this link, as it has been posted around here a few times, of John Tenta (RIP) being legitimately measured as 6'5.75"

Tenta I believe was billed as 6'7", that's over an inch extra than his measured height so it makes sense to me. This site has all kayfabe heights: Click Here

Here's the best pic I've seen of Hogan and Earthquake during a staredown Click Here they look more or less the same height. Hogan may be just a tad taller, maybe a full 6'6".

Hogan was, of course, the top guy in the WWF at the time, so it makes sense he was billed taller (6'8") even though he and Earthquake were the same height.

I think the height billing depends on the character. Generally speaking, I'd say it's safe to assume that the majority of wrestlers are exaggerated about 1"-2" depending on their character. Here are some exceptions:

Randy Orton for example I believe is a legit 6'4". I saw him after a show was no more than 15 feet away, the dude is TALL. I have a 6'4" uncle so I use that as comparison. But Orton isn't built like a monster. I'm not as good at guessing weights but I'd say Orton is 230lb - 240lb, somewhere in that area. (I think he's billed 250lb now)

Batista, on the other hand, is a freakin' monster probably somewhere between 275lb - 300lb. And just from his look and character, it makes more sense to bill him as being much taller. I think he's billed 6'5" now but he was billed 6'6" at his debut and when he was in OVW I believe he was billed 6'7".

And then there are of course the characters that are billed inches and inches away from their actual height like Andre, Haystacks, Kane. I think it just depends on the character, if they can pass for the billing, and even on their involvement in storylines. Viscera was billed 6'6" until he got a push and magically became 6'9".

Someone ages ago posted a link to Lance Storm talking about heights but I haven't been able to track it down. I remember it saying that he was a legit 5'11.75" but shrank to 5'11". He also said that he never cared enough to lie about his height but a lot of wrestlers did.

He may not have been 350, but you have to understand that Vader was fat where as Hogan was not. Not to mention a peak Hogan was at least 3 inches taller. John Cena is billed at his height and weight pretty much, so Hogan could have very easily been around the 300 pound mark in the late 80s-early 90s. He also said in a Hogan Knows Best episode that he weighs 285.

Hogan was tall way back in about 1980. People are swayed by what he is now, back at that time (1979) he was was in a arm wrestling match with a near peak Andre, and Andre had cowboy boots on and a afro and Hogan was still only about 5 inches shorter even though he was in slippers! Even if you say Andre was only 6'10 back then, and that's low. He would have been 7'0 in boots thus making Hogan near the 6'7 that he say's he was. He was a small 6'7, like 6'6.25 but most jocks round up.

Chaz, stop comparing Hogan to Bill Kazmaier for the love of God! Geoff Capes was 320 pounds in 1980-1982 and 375 pounds by 1986. FACT. Hogan was EXACTLY Geoff Capes and had a TON of more muscle that Geoff had. You CANNOT compare 2 people the way you do. I do believe that Hogan was MINIMUM 305-310 pounds at his largest EASILY.. Remember, Taker has claimed to have gone up to 350 pounds and was 335 pounds legit in 1998. Kane was up to 340 pounds at his largest. Those 2 men had about 2" on a PRIME Hogan and Hogan was a VERY large and muscular man who was hovering around 6'6" rounded up. Ferrigno had NOOOOOOO fat on him. You CANNOT compare him with Hogan. Hogan also had at least an inch on Ferrigno. Ferrigno WAS 315 pounds at 19 years old and had a similar build to a younger Hogan. Muscle with some fat as well....

Boss,6'5'' 300lbs is one thing, but Hogan is full of crap, this is a man who says he was 6'7''330lbs with 24''arms,who clamed Andre was nere 700lbs when he picked him up and slamed him, which he said again in the CCW tv show, and He was not bigger than Ferrigno he may at the very most have been 1'' taller but Ferrigno had a measured 60'' chest and real 23'' arms that was about 1980 at about 295lbs,and in the 1990s when he was 320lbs he made Hogan look like a flabby runt,
Boss said on 30/Apr/09
John Tenta was measured at 6'5 3/4 and he and Hogan were the around the same height but their fued was around the time Hogan started losing height. Hogan's peak was probably between 6'5.5 - 6'5 3/4 peak barefoot but 6'6 is possible and with Hogan's special boots his in ring height was in the 6'7 ballpark. When McMahon signed Hogan he gave him a pair of boots with lifts installed to bolster his height even more. Hogan was taller than 6'4.5 - 6'5 Lou Ferrigno when they both appeared on a talk show back in their prime and Hogan was taller than Ferrigno and the host commented on how Hogan was actually bigger than Ferrigno and that's how he got the "Hulk" nickname.

Watching this video I have not the least doubt that Hogan was over 300 lbs here. Also his arms are certainly nothing short of 22". He really was a giant hin his own right back then in his hayday.

Magnus was NOT always 340 pounds. In fact he competed at 270-298 pounds for MANY years and was around 6'6"-6'7". He later came in at 330 pounds. hogan was pretty close to 6'6", so Magnus barely had any height on him. Secondly, hogan wasn't only a MERE 300 pounds. Have you met many 6'5"-6'6" men the size hogan was in 1979-1986? He was OVER 300 pounds. Magnus was WAT stronger than Hogan, but only fractionally taller and was around the same weight as Hogan... OLA, you ARE a TROLL.

Daniel stop making a fool of yourself! iam swedish exacly like you and u should know that samuelsson would have dwarf hogan TOTALY! hogan was BILLED to around 300 so his real weight was way lower - nothing more than 280 maybe even 270

first of all magnus samuelsson (the worlds strongest man, don't remember which year he won the tournament, doesn't mater..if hogan was standing next to Magnus in his prime days he would not be dwarfed, that's a hard word.yes magnus was and is taller, heavier and stornger than a peak hogan..like i said hogans peak height was somewhere around 195-197cm (6'5-6'5.75) and 300 pounds at his peak and magnus was at his peak 200cm (6'6.5) and 340 pounds..if you are 1 and a half maybe 2 inches tallar then a guy then you are not dwarfing him.and if Magnus peak weight was 330-340 pounds why couldn.t hogans be 300 pounds then..
yes magnus is bigger and thats why he was 30-40 pounds heavier and 1 and a half inches taller..Magnus is a giant and Hogan was a huge guy...I say it again and clear Hulk Hogan 6'5.5 and 300 pounds peak...

The only thing is your red line is about an inch off as your measuring Hillbilly's hair in your comparison. So a legit 6'5.5" HillBillyJim would be 6'6.5 or so in ring gear is 1 - 1.5 inches shorter than Hogan in his ring gear.
Hogan is slightly taller than Jim in a backstage pic of them that you can see there as well in the pics. Hogan was probably 6'7.5 in his ring gear peak looking at this pic but was no lower than 6'7 in ring gear. Whether he's getting a 1.5 to 2 inch lift from lifts and his boot souls he looks every bit of 6'7+ in ring gear at his peak.

The line I drew was from the top of Hogan's head, not Hilbilly's (as it's hard to determine where the top of his head is under all that hair).
As for his footwear, there's no way these type of boots gave him a 1.5" height boost. Click Here

Hogan was said to wear lifts inside his boots so this is why Hogan is not a very good reference and his supposed 2 1/2 inch height loss. The souls on his boots look 1 - 1.25" which is pretty standard for wrestling boots as you well know. If HBJ is a legit 6'5.5 barefoot then HBJ would be 6'6.5 or so in ring boots and Hogan was clearly taller than HBJ in ring and backstage. So what's the issue.

hogan at 6'7.5 in ring gear means self claimed 6'5 tiny lister was 6'8 in ring gear, i don't buy that

Hogan was taller than Lister and Lister wore huge heels and was on his tip toes for that staredown. Lister also claimed 6'6 and later downgraded his site to 6'5. Look at the pic with HillBillyJim who was a legit 6'5.5" and Hogan has him by a bit. Now 6'5.5 with wrestling boots would be at least 6'6.5 or so and Hogan is clearly taller than HBJ so minimal 6'7 in wrestling boots. So buy that there anonymous.

Just becasue Hogan was billed at over 300lbs, doesn't definitively mean that he was NEVER around 300lbs. Yes, billings are exaggerated generally speaking. But it doesn't mean that Hogan's billed weight was flucuated by that much.

Hogan was legit 6'5.5" at his peak, with a very large build & a lot of muscle. I don't see why him weighing 300lbs is that difficult to believe.

Hogan was actually billed at 320lbs in 1979, which was a time when weight clearly didn't need such an inflation as it does today, (for example Andre at 450lbs or Ernie Ladd at his NFL listed 320lbs) so a 300+lbs peak Hogan is perfectly reasonable.

Hogan was a legit 340 at his heaviest (1978-1981). He was at least 6'5"-6'6" and had massive 22" arms and a a MASSIVE upper body with decent size legs. He started to lose weight when he audition for Rocky III (going from 340 to 330 to 320), but was still around 305-310 up until 1986. By 1987 he dippped below 300 (around 285-295). By 1992/1994 he went down to 230-260 pounds. He began gaining back some weight in the NWO going up to around 270 pounds and seems to have maintaine that weight ever since...

This sounds spot on to me.... Ola you have issues!

The JT pictures show that if Hogan did not have 22.5 inch arms nobody ever has. Hogan Peak 280, Peak 6'4 come on! Fralic looks slight next to a late 70's-early 80's Hogan, and Fralic was listed at 285! Even in the early to mid 90's when Hogan has his big drawdown He was on a tag team with 6'3 250 NFL Kevin Greene and he dwarfed him. Hogan was as close as could be to 6'6 and about 315-320 at his biggest. Even thought Hogan was shorter than Ben Davidson in that movie, he was way, way heavier and Davidson was listed at 275-280 in the NFL. Davidson looked almost thin next to Hogan. Hogan Dropped some weight when he became the champ because it was more important to look as good as he could instead of being as heavy as he could, 320 to 303.

Arms: 19/20"

Hogan was VERY tall back in the day. The reason he sucsessfully passed for the 6'7-6'8 for like 2 decades was because he was a solid 6'6, I followed his whole carear and it was never a controversy that he was only 6'4 or 6'5 back in the 80's, he towered over everybody, he was 6'8+ in the boots. The correction was that as people started to see that he was probably not a legit barefoot 6'8 they started to say that he was ONLY 6'7, and possibly as LOW as 6'6. I never saw anything under 6'6 from 1978 until well into the 2000's. That stairdown George Pappard picture from 1986 is a good one, Pappard was a solid 6'0 and is standing straight, Hogan has a slight slouch going with a bent right leg, that takes half the boot advantage away right there, and it's not like Peppard is barefoot, he has about 1 inch heel dress shoes on that make up for the other half of Hogan's heel, that's Hogan absolutly dwarfing a 6'0+ guy. Hogan was possibly as much as 6'6.25-6'6.50 when he was real young and had a big head of hair. He was close to 320 peak and is 280-285 now. Does not matter how tall he is now because he is old and has health issues. Although I say still all of 6'4.

I'm comparing the Mr T 1986 photos with the Gregg 1988 photo above. Something has to give. Mr T stacks up a good inch better to Hogan than Gregg does and supposedly Hogan only had tennis shoes on in that picture, Hogan has boots on in the Mr T photo, total disconnect, how can Mr T be given 5'10 and Gregg 6'0.5 the photos would suggest that either Mr T is like 6'1 or that Gregg is like 5'8. Either way I think that if you ran the photos together Mr T would be about 2 inches taller than Gregg, especially because Hogan had a big heel advantage in the Mr T photos. If Gregg is 6'0.5 then T is 6'2+ if T is 5'11 then Gregg is 5'9.

Great pictures of Mr T and Hogan from 1986. A couple of things, Hogan has his monster boots on, they look the the exact ones he had on in the Davidson pictures from about the same time. Mr T's military boots really do not have much of a heel on them,I think the pictures show that Mr T was actually a big guy, Hogan was 6'6 and in the boots he was about 6'8.5 in that show a couple of times Hogan ducks through the doorway in the Hospital. I really think that Mr T was about a 6 footer because he is only about 7 inches shorter. Hogan has at least a 1.5 inch heel advantage

Here's a interview from 6'5 Dick Graham with Hulk Hogan. Hogan looks several inches taller, but is closer to the camera most of times. Funny comment by Hogan in the end.

WOW, he was in NO WAY shorter than 6'6" at his peak and quite possibly taller than that. Dick is 6'5" and Hogan is looking all of his billed 6'8" back then. Hogan has lost a LOT of height. I say MINIMUM 3" nowadays.

A few screen caps of Hogan in cowboy boots and Mr. T in military boots from 1986. Click Here IMO, roughly a 7 inch difference, then subtract whatever footwear advantage the cowboy boots are giving Hogan. Rob has Mr. T at 5'10.5".

Rob has this guy nailed, he was not 6'8 or 6'4 peak, he was 6'6. And he isnt 6'2 or 6'5 now he's 6'3.5... maybe 6'3.75.

Yeah 260 sounds about right Miko actually, 18 1/2 stone. He looks close to 19 stone in my view so 265lb is also about right I think.I'd say between 18 and 19 stone.

I think that Hogan is 280. What he lost in muscle he has replaced with fat. He is still hudge, I don't see a scale going lower than 280. I'm a stick and almost the same age and I'm 200 at only 6'0, so at 6'4 he's gotta be 280+-

I agree that the Rock was never 6'5. However he was listed, at 6'4 and 6'5 at different times at Miami.

Hogan seems to have a pretty large upper body when he is on the juice, but he has NO MORE legs left. I mean between his hip replacements and knee replacements, his legs ARE shorter and thinner than they were at his peak BY FAR. I think 255-260 pounds is where Hogan is at TODAY ONLY because of his shrunken body. If he were 6'5"-6'6" I would peg him at least 270-285 pounds today.

I'd say 6'6" is about right. Watching the Youtube video with him vs Andre, I think it was Vince(?) who said "Let me break it down...6'8", 294lb..." So yeah, given they tend to add a couple inches when billing, 6 and a half feet tall sounds about as accurate as it gets.
Doug said on 31/Mar/09
Any estimates on Hogan's weight now? I'd say he is around 280lb these days??
John said on 31/Mar/09
Michael Clark Duncan is billed at 6'5. Here in this video, King Kong Bundy looks to be about a half an inch shorter than him (which puts him at around 6'4 1/2, or 6'4 at least.)

Here, Hogan seems to be about 2 inches taller than Bundy (at least an inch and a half). So that would put Hogan at at least 6'5 1/2, and potentially at 6'6. I might compromise and say 6'5 3/4.

Anonymous; some of your info is incorrect, true jesse is listed at 6'2 by wwe hall of fame, hogan however is listed as 6'7 by wwe HOF

i was at the hall of fame where john studd was inducted in NY in 2004, in the magazine they gave everyone that night studd is described as 6'10, wwe.com has him at 6'10 364lb on their hall of fame page Click Here

A weird thing about wrestling, for all the crazy exzagerations that happen it seems as though when they are elected to the hall of fame they have a epiphany and go with with much lower listings which I am inclined to believe are there real, not on the juice sizes. Jesse Ventura who would get 6'5 280 is listed at 6'2 245. Paul Orendorff who would say 6'2 260 is listed at 5'11 245. Hogan saw as high as 6'9 345 is listed at 6'6 275. It's like when they are elected it's such a closure thing that they come clean if you will. I even heard that Studds is 6'7 320 down from 6'10-6'11 380

Thing is people DO shrink in height as they get older (especially wrestlers) and people do lose weight. An example was Jesse Ventura who WAS much larger in 1984 than he was in 2004. His arms alone carried about 20 more pounds. He was all of 270-280 pounds in his wrestling days and down to 245-250 in more recent years. Hogan was definitely over 300 pounds in the late 70's-mid 80's and at a much lower weight today. Studd was around around 320-330 pounds and I believe a legit 6'7".

Hogan was super tall back in the day, 1980. It dosen't matter what he is now. He was 6'6+. Ferrigno was all but 6'5 and Hogan was enough taller for it to stand out.

i have recently watched some clips and matches with Hogan 2002-2005 and he is taller than guys like edge (build as 6'5) the Rock (6'5) Triple H (6'4) looks like he has one inch one chris masters who also is build as a 6'7...no doubt that hogan has lost a couple of inches through the years..i think he is a legit 6'4 today maybe a weak one...back in the 70's and mid 80's he was probably 6'5.75 or a weak 6'6...
daniel_Sweden said on 29/Mar/09
if Lou Ferrigno is today 6'3 then Hulk Hogan most be at least 6'4 today..

In the pic above he looks 8 inches taller than Greg who is over six feet... What do you say about that?
John said on 29/Mar/09
How doesn't he look 6'6? Sid was billed at 6'9 & he only has like two inches on Hogan. Sid was taller than the Undertaker by about a half an inch when you look at their stare down at Wrestlemania 13, and 'Taker was about 6'8. So that would still put Hogan at at least 6'6.
Anonymous said on 29/Mar/09
The thing about Hogan is that he was always at a disavantage because he lost his hair at such a young age. A big mop of hair makes a big difference, in that stairdown with Sid below I bet if you shaved Sid's curly head of hair down to the scalp like Hogans, it would really make a difference and sid would be as little as 1 inch taller. Sid is always put at 6'7 and even 6'7+ that would suggest that even an old 1992 Hogan was still 6'6 if your going to talk about true height for the folically chanlenged.
Big King said on 28/Mar/09
I read that wrestlers and basketball players get measured with shoes. If Hogan was at 6'7" with shoes then his barefoot height used to be 6'5.5", also 6'6" is a little bit upgraded for Hogan.

Hogan was a round up 6'7. A little over 6'6, but not quite 6'7. I buy the 6'6 1/4 - 6'6 1/2. He would have gotten exposed in his zillion non wrestling related apperances way back when if he was being sold at 6'8 and would have been only 6'5 and he wasn't. He was always tall enough that he could get away with the 6'8 and that would suggest that he was 6'6.5 ish.

I think this is a perfect example of how tall Hogan was capable of being when he'd stand up straight. At the beginning of the video he's trying to sell a back/neck injury & acts like he's all stiff and sore, so he stands up as tall as he can. When he does so, he has a good ten, eleven inches on Gene Okerlund. Okerlund was billed as 5'9". Even if that were an exaggeration and he were only 5'8, that would still put Hogan at about 6'7".

Hogan was a weak 6'6", maybe he got measured 6'7" with shoes.

Hogan was no less than 6'6 peak, late 70's early to mid 80's. He had a big falloff in the 90's and 00's to 6'4 today. Hogan was one of the only wrestlers from back then to break out of the wrestling bubble and do movies, TV, Commercials, with the stars, celeberties and other athlets. 99% of the other wrestlers could go with there 3 inch exzagerations and nobody would be the wiser, but Hulk left the ring and was seen and photographed with everybody and he was always able to least pass for his given 6'7-6'8. A criticle eye could detect that he was maybe just a little less than that, but not much. I saw alot of the action shows that he was on in the 80's and he would have to duck threw doorframes with his boots on which would give him at least 6'8.5. I would bet that he was as much as 6'6.25-6'6.5. He was a 6'6-6'7 guy. People have to stop discussing Hogan's peak height in terms of anything after 1989. If you look at all the old pictures and videos he was way taller than 6'3 type guys. Today that's not the case.
Big King said on 24/Mar/09
