How tall is Fish

i am a huge marillion fan and in the 1980s i always saw fish as a huge guy! he towers over the rest of the band and i saw him tower over 6ft john michie in taggart by at least 6 inches easy, and john who played di robbie ross had no chance trying to tackle this huge guy down to the ground and thats with the other three officers, so fish just let them take him down! i always had fish at 6'6" at his peak. he may be 6'3" to 6'4" now that hes age over 60. but what a singer. and misplaced childhood there 1985 massive selling album is just pure genius !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I knew Fish was tall, but 6ft5 is more than I expected.
Ah - Marillion; an 80's band that I really did appreciate! I thought 'Kayleigh' was a beautiful song and I used to know a gorgeous little girl named this! She was born in July 1987 and was an angel of a baby and a real pleasure to look after, and I don't say that lightly!

He looks like a giant compared to other band members in Marillion concerts and music videos. It's pretty strange for his early persona. A 6'5 giant scottish jester!

On an interview for TVAM in 1990 he said that he is 6 ft 5 and a half. To be accurate, it's 196,85 cm.
I'm his fan and I am 194 cm tall :)

I think this guy could've been over 6ft5 at his peak. But I read 6ft4 aswell.

Rothery looks around 5'11 next to Fish if he's 6'5",he's put on a load of weight over the years, he's got to be 20+ stone (300lbs), a great player though. Must admit though, I thought Fish was 6'6"...who knows

Interestingly enough, 195 cm is actually 6'4 3/4" not quite a full 6'5". So when he stated his height, he might of actually been 6'4 3/4".

If he says he is 195 cm that's 6'4 3/4 but I do agree, he is probably 6'5" but 195 cm is 6'4 3/4"

He always looked very big to me and he towered over the other Marillion members. I guess he is around 6`5, but no more than that

There are several mentions of 6'5.5" on his site too.

Although the guy himself has always said 6'5" . Perhaps he downgrades the half inch to give it a nicer sounding number? Most fans mention him as over 6'5" ... with some estimates of 6'8". (probably, due to, as Glenn mentioned, the rest of the band members being 'average' height)

Oh god I have met fish on a number of occassions back in the eighties and he seems so much bigger, very imposing fella, I would of given him two more inches for sure!
