Sometimes flops are good for an actor; they deflate his ego enough to make him human....especially if the romantic hero happened to be under 6 feet.
Like other tall actors, I've lost some good roles in the past, but now height isn't the same problem. Believe it or not, while I'm 6 feet 4 inches, I had to wear 2-inch lifts in my shoes for Molly Maguires...The biggest Molly I had to top [was] Anthony Costello, who at 6ft. 5in, plays the youngest Molly...I really thought I was tall until I ran into a professional basketball team at the airport...This was the first time I was ever in a group where I had to look up to everyone I was talking to.

Art Lund looks like Sonny Tufts, and David Brian actors also 6’4” tall with blonde colored hair. This trio of actors are strikingly similar in look unlike similarly sized Sterling Hayden. Art Lund appeared on Gunsmoke and 6’6 1/2” James Arness only appeared two inches taller at most than Lund.
