I'd agree 6'5" is a good out of bed height for him, 6'4.5" give or take afternoon, in many scenes he's way taller than other actors when I catch him on TV.

Editor Rob I think recently on Hawaii 5-0, he seems like he isn't quite as tall as he used to be in the 2000's...I remember watching Pushing Daisies and thinking he looked taller than lee pace, more than a fraction. I do think he could be at least if not slightly taller than boris, but haven't watched the episode.

Larroquette was peak 194/195 (closer to his claim of 6'5 than a flat 6'4). He was right next to my 6'4" father in the airport in the 90s and had him by a fraction. Chi is not as tall as larroqutte was.

I think Chi McBride lies about his size. I think he's like Paul Bethany - he tries to be a little shorter than he really is so as to be judged normal looking by casting directors.
There's no question that James Arness and Clint Walker were hard to cast because they were so big. Bethany is really 6'4" but claims to be only 6'3.5".
On paper Chi McBride and me should be just about the same size. I'm 6'4" and he's 6'4.5". But I don't believe it. In 'Mercury Rising' he made Bruce Willis look like a doll beside him. One of his best roles was as a billionaire villain in the TV series 'House'. Apparently he was written out of the show because every viewer hated him. Sometimes it doesn't pay to be too good an actor.
McBride was a good foil for Hugh Laurie because Laurie is big. He's listed here at 6'2.5. That's seems about right. He is always the biggest guy on the set. But in order for him to appear threatened and vulnerable they need big bad guys. They brought in David Morse later who played a not very nice cop. Morse is about 6'4".

In some pictures I've seen he looks taller than Michael Rapaport, Zachary Levi and Danny Glover so Chi is very tall. This is right I think.

I watched "Mercury Rising" last night where McBride plays Bruce Willis' FBI buddy. I recognized him as the big evil billionaire from "House". He appears to be out of place because he is so big. He dwarfs Willis. He's always the biggest guy in the scene. He's not only tall but also heavy. I'm sure his career has been negatively impacted by his size. He just doesn't look like a normal person at all.
Then I stopped for a moment as it struck me - I'm that size. I'm 6'5" and weigh a bit over 300 pounds. Except for the fact that I'm not black, that could be me up there on the screen. Jesus!
I think of me as just right, but on the screen McBride looks pretty extreme. I think it means that movie stars like Willis and Alec Baldwin are part of the 'little world' of movies inhabited by tiny men. In real life the average man is about 5'8" or 5'9". In movies the average man on the screen is about 5'7". Hence tiny Tom Cruise or George Clooney can appear normal. Most of the movie stars who wear lifts are probably no more than 5'6" - guys like Robert Downey. Al Pacino is probably 5'3".
On dating sites one quickly learns that both men and women lie about their ages. If a woman advertises herself as being 35 you can be pretty sure she's 40. Similarly male movie stars seem to be about two inches shorter than they claim. I now adjust down most of the heights claimed here. I think most of them are far too generous.

There's a scene (in House) where 6'2" Laurie is standing face to face with him. He's got around an inch (and a half, at best) on Laurie.

Nike Shok (or some other brand with the same design) are part of Hugh Laurie's standard wardrobe on "House". So he could have a half inch footwear advantage over all the cast members including McBride.

I just watched an episode of house yesterday with Chi McBride. I don't know how many episodes he appears in, but in this one there wasn't an inch difference. He seemed approximately 2-3inches taller than Hugh Laurie.

i think he is 195 196 range so will smith is defetly tall since hewas shorter only by 3 to 3.5 inches will gotta be close to 6'2 also nic cage was only 4 inches smaller but he had boots on so 183 184 range

Just saw the "I, Robot" again and the 6"2 Will Smith is at least 3-4 inches shorter than Chi McBride when both of them were in the same scene. So I think he does have 6-5.
