why do so many 5'1 girls claim 5'2. I'm legit 5'2 (maybe a bit over) and that amount of so called 5'2 girls I'm taller than is ridiculous .

I can’t believe that Emily is 2.9cm taller than me; I was measured in hospital.

She looks so small onscreen!

When in hospital, I had a 6ft male nurse ask me if my parents were short. He just came out with it, and I hadn’t been warbling on about height either! I said, “My Dad was 5ft11.5 peak height and my Mum was 5ft4.5.”

I added that I used to be 2-2.5” taller, of course.

The nurse’s name was Kai and he was a lovely guy. I made him laugh when he took me to the toilet!

5ft1. I thought this when I saw her with Tom Hardy in their film about the Kray twins fairly recently.

5’1 is a little too high for Emily in my opinion, I can’t see her over a flat 5’0. She honestly doesn’t look 5’0 either looking at her proportions, but comparing her to other people I think 4’11 range is too short. Definitely can’t see 5’1 for her though, I would rule that out as being a possibility.

My Mom is 4'10, so I can always recognize that stature since I grew up with it. I think she's 4'10, but 4'11 is the lowest guess allowed so let's go with that lol

I am most impressed with the English Cockney accent Emily has to effect for her part in the film 'Legend'. I haven't seen her take her shoes off yet, but she still looks extremely petite alongside all those gangster men. Ha ha ha - I hardly blame the girl for keeping those heels on! It's a lady's prerogative, after all!

I can certainly see this one standing no more than 5ft1, possibly a quarter-inch more fresh out of bed.

There’s a tendency to discount women’s motivation to fib about height, but when you’re this small surely every inch counts. Doubt she’s over 5’0.

Emily is an interesting little actress! I first saw her in the unexpectedly good film 'The Uninvited', then came another cracking film called 'Magic Magic', where she plays the infinitely more worldly-wise cousin of the delightful Juno Temple.
Juno is 5ft2 and you can see that Emily is a bit smaller. I will agree, therefore, with 5ft1, though she does look smaller in the above picture! I might yet get back on this young lady!
I had no idea that Emily is, like so many really good actresses I watch, Australian! 🌏

I really never thought she was that tiny until i watched sucker punch. Baby was really hot along with the other girls. Some scenes she is taller than hudgens. 4 foot 9 is way too short for her. Maybe 5 foot.

Judging by her height next to Arielle in The Uninvited, I'd say she was around 5ft2, Arielle's 5ft8 the same height as my mom, when I stand next to my mom I'm a tiny bit shorter than Emily was to Arielle, I'm just a little over 5ft :/

I could tell that Emily was really tiny when I watched Sucker Punch. She looks at least 3.5 inches shorter than 5f1 Vanessa so she is more like 4f9ish. No way she's even 5f2 with high heels and platforms on.

Even in Sucker punch she looks really tiny. Vanessa is petite like 5'1 but she's still smallr than her. I'd say 5ft or lower. Who cares how short she is.... She's such adorable chick. She is one of those short chicks like shakira, madonna or kylie.

I think she's about 5'. That is perfect evidence from the picture with Vanessa. I know Vanessa's only 5'1". She's wearing flats in that picture and Emily still has a little heel. Emily is so adorable! She's my idol. <3

She looked so tiny next to Elizabeth Banks in "The Uninvited". I was surprised to learn she is 5'1.5. Not knowing any better, I would have thought 4'11 or 5'0...really tiny.

The height average only went up by half an inch since the 1980's. I really don't think it's increasing THAT quickly, although it will probably be about 5' 5" and 5' 10.5" by the next time they take averages. Also, how old are your friends? Because, as someone who just went through high school (class of 2005), although people THINK and might SAY they are still growing, very few girls actually grow more than an inch or two throughout high school. And boys usually stay within about four inches of their height as a 14 or 15-year-old freshman. These days, a lot of girls are even done growing by the time they are 12 or 13! So, we'll see how tall they THINK they're going to be compared to how tall they actually GET. :) People don't realize that about 90% of girls are done growing by their 16th birthday.

Even if the USA/UK/AUS averages are 5'10 for males and 5'4.5 for females, maybe the next generation have different averages. From what I've seen at my high school in aus most people are either the average or above, with an odd few under which are generally descended from another country like asia or the middle east, no offence. My friend (female) is 5'3 and there are only roughly 3 or 4 girls shorter than her in her year(average size school), and they are still growing.

As far as Australians being taller/shorter than people from the USA or UK, that's fake. In all three countries, males average at 5' 10" and women at 5' 4

this is aimed towards kaylen.. i want to say that australians are taller than americans because we dont see too many females below 5'4" here.. most of my friends are 12 or 13 and in between 5'3" and 5'10". Australians are not as short as americans or whatever you are.

Considering the fact that Emily recently turned SEVENTEEN on December 7th, and she hasn't grown since Lemony Snicket's started filming in late 2002 or early 2003, I doubt she's going to grow anymore.

um, she wears heels that make her 5'4" next to him...most heels are about 2.5 inches so 5'1.5" is very accurate. She's even said so herself.

If Liam Aiken is 5' 7.5" then Emily's fan sites are correct about her being 5' 4" because she is only a few inches shorter than he is.

i've visited a site on her and she is exactly 5'3". She is really short, but that may be because she's Australian. If anyone knows who she talked to for three hours at the LA premiere, PLEASEEEE tell me this is extremely important and life-threatening.
