Being nose-to-nose with Bradley Cooper proved Butler's 6'2" claims are erroneous. Butler is a guy who can seem bigger on screen than he does in photos. In Rock-n-Rolla, he's a bit shorter than Mark Strong and (more so) Idris Elba.

Eckhart seems more like a 178 cm guy to me the more I see him (think Rob also mentioned he could look it next to Yvonne Strahovski). Gerard is closer to the camera in that shot Arch Stanton posted as well. I'd go with 185-186 cm range for Butler, and 178-179 cm for Eckhart.

I remember tons of analysts/scouts who had seen him in person being surprised at the NFL combine that RG3 measured as high as 6'2 3/8". It was probably a first thing in the morning measurement. Butler appears to be at most .5" shorter in that photo.

The same Bova actually struggled to look 5'11 with the footballer Luca Toni, who claimed 193 in an interview. Butler really doesnt look over 183-184 with him, they actually look about the same (Bova has some footwear advantage) but i'm givin him the benefit of doubt. Maybe he's 184?

There's a photo of him with Adrien Brody on the base and it looks like GB has a couple/few inches on AB, certainly more than 1.25" between them (you have Brody at 6'0" and Butler at 6'1.25"). So one of these heights is off by a little.

Rob, Butler and Bradley Cooper seem to be around the same height. The only ones where Butler looks taller is where he is closer to the camera or standing straighter. In some of the shots Cooper even seems to have a hair over Butler. I think Butler is under 6'1". Downgrade time yet?

Gerard is a SOLID 6ft 2in!!! I was standing next to him at the "Phantom" premiere in NYC...and wanted to make sure that I also commented that George Clooney IS 5'11 and maybe a 1/2. I was in Oceans 11 as an extra with him, throughout the movie. I am 5'10 and he was not a whole lot taller than me. Gerard though, is TALL and built SOLIDLY!! Whew!

G has always been listed as 6'2", and I have seen him with lots of others. He does slouch, and admits it. He has lost a lot of weight, is way too thin now for his height, but very well muscled even thin, as recent pics show. About 175-180 lbs. AS a fan, I have every pic, and can see his height with others

I think that Gerry is 6'2"--he has the proportions of a 6'2" man, and he stacks up well against other tall actors. I just saw some shots of him standing next to Hugh Jackman--whom I believe to be legitimately 6'2" barefoot--and Gerry looked a bit taller than Jackman. Granted, the photos were 3/4 shots and I couldn't see the mens' shoes, but assuming the footwear was similar, the case for Gerry being 6'2" is reasonable.

I think he is more like 6'1, and I explain you why:
- He looked exactly the same height as 6'1 Bradley Cooper, not even a fraction shorter or taller. And Bradley Cooper clearly looked 1-2cm shorter than legit 186-187 Jim Carrey in "Yes Man".

Yeah, Butler doesn't even seem 2 inches taller than Colin. Your claim does look good there for Colin. In fact Colin looks over 5'11" there.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I actually see 6'2" in his pic with Glenn (accounting for posture of course). If he straightened up, his eyes would easily clear the top of Glenn's head and with really great posture, I think Glenn would be right at the tip of his nose. As Jim Jones said, that's a pretty decent test for a 6'2" guy.

check the scene in 300 when Gerard/Leo is taking to 'the captain' while eating an apple. His lieutenant [ who is clearly very tall] runs up to report. He immediately kneels, covering the height difference. Now also look at the lifts on Leo/ gerard, in that same scene, plus the scene with Ephialtes??- lifts are evident. Additionally compare him to Christian Bale in Reign of Fire- they are generally equal in height. I am a solid 5'9" and Bale is a bit taller than me. again the leaness of his musculature is evident..it makes him look taller. Therefore GERARD = BALE = 5' 11 at the MAXIMUM . Another item to consider is that when casting actors, mooost of the time they will not put a 6'1+ tallish with a 5'7ish. Consider Minority report: Tom & Colin /Alexander: Colin farrel & Jared leto [ I stood next to him at a 30seconds-to -Mars concert, and he must be 5'8- 5 '9 . Henceforth my arguement back to 'Reign of fire'...these guys clock in at 5'11" and no more

I agree with Leo76. Butler is about 181cm, but he does give an illusion of bein taller, could be due to body structure.
