Granted, there are tricks (camera angles, using shorter actors) that can make an actor look larger. For example, on Supernatural,the Winchester Bros are supposed to be intimidating, and often Jensen Ackles looks bigger than his 5'11.5-6ft. But looking at Jared and how he compares to other people and objects and using my own size as reference, I feel he has to be bigger than a flat 6'4''. I would say 6'4.5 at lowest! Of course this is just my opinion, and I trust Rob's estimate.

@Rob: maybe. Not all 6’4 guys lose a full inch in fact most don’t. I don’t lose an inch myself and I’m a strong 6’4. I probably lose avg 1.9cm (1.8-2) 195.7-.8 and 193.7-.9 at night

Editor RobThe chances are certainly greater the longer your spine is, though there is enough variation that you could find somebody shrinking 0.6-0.7 and another 1.2, both being same height.

I get ur point Canson. For alot of males height is emotional and if they can get away with few cms to most people they start
to identify with it and even somewhat believe it themselves.

It’s like they’re trying to convince themselves that they’re taller and having to inflate him to do it which is beyond stupid. I’ve seen that far too many times and has happened with me a few times. I had someone swear up and down I was 6’5+ or 6’6. You’re right not everyone is good at estimating but when I tell them no I’m 6’4 or just over and still have them trying to convince me is when I take exception. That’s not only lying but becomes telling someone that they’re lying when they aren’t.

Well if you get towered at near 6ft despite heeled boots on TV you might mention it.
In their defense i myself struggle to recognize difference between 4-?? inches in person unless seen with other people. I don't know how Rob is so good at it :D

If you look when they pose as agents he is around his eye level and i'm pretty certain Jensen is no less then 5'11.5.
Jared is probably a real 6'4. He looks similar height as Conan obrien when standing tall and conan has shoe advantage.
He looks taller then Jason Momoa who claims 6'5 but he isnt.
He has atleast an inch on Zachary levi who claims 6'4 but is probably closer to 6'3 range.

You can find different photos with Ackles with the same good posture, or, even better, see some episode of Supernatural. Padalecki have a hair cut that make him looks taller, if you watch the first Supernatural seasons, you can really tell he was "shorter", he had a different hair cut. Anyway, even with an eyelevel of 180 cm and a big +12.4 cm (higher then 95% of average) the best he can be is 192.4 cm. Can't see him taller then guys like Matthew Lillard, actually, he seems tall as him, around 191.8-192 cm range. So, 191-192 cm or 191.5-192.5 at best. Just my opinion.

A pic of all 4 of them, Robs listings seem to be correct. Jensen is an inch taller than 5'11" Misha and Jim does indeed look a smidge more than Misha ( he claimed he has shrunk to 5'11.25".

I watch House of Wax repeat telecast from HBO a few years back recall Padalecki look solid 6foot4 with a pair of converse sneakers. At least he only shave off a half from claim height. In Hollywood most people just go along with shoes/boots claim heights.

Slim182: Jensen inflated Jared to make his own lie believable. He in essence assessed him a height in correlation with his own lie. Jared is 6'4" but because most people don't know how tall 6'4" actually is (they assume guys the size of Michael Phelps or even Conan are 6'4) they assume he's taller than he is.

In a DVD episode commentary (don't ask me which one), Padalecki described himself as 6'5". Ackles does wear thick soled boots/shoes,(and my opinion only)this is to make their disparity less apparent; I'm guessing Ackles is six foot and a fraction.

I've been watching supernatural a long time and I am at the conclusion that Ackles is 5'11, padalecki is 6'3, and Misha is 5'10. It's the only thing that makes sense. Ackles wears 2 inch logger boots that makes him 6'1. I feel Padalecki is 6'4 with his shoes on which is still tall. Only time will tell, maybe Big Rob can get a pic with him sooner or later and test my theory.

I did begin to say something to Famke as she was about to sit but the security guy put his hand up to me like 'SHOOSH'...45 quid wasted, well it's a business expense, but still it is lost money with nothing to show.
The last time I called out an actor about sitting was Peter Mayhew. He acted like a Height Supremacist in the photoshoot. Stood up for the girl beside me (who happened to be 6ft 2, also he crouched on his knees as a joke too), then refused to stand for the FIVE other people in the queue...was a 1-minute photoshoot.
I 'politely' pointed this out to him, and he was just like 'uh ahh, nah' 😏
I had to laugh at him...when I got home I burned my Chewbacca action figure in protest and scratched up my copy of Empire Strikes Back 😡 😅

Jensen says that jareds a good, four inches taller than he is. Jensen is 6'1 so that would make Jared 6'5. I believe the 220lbs part because I my self am 104lbs, I'm pretty petite, says everyone I know. Jareds twice my height so that would make him pretty much twice my weight. Right? I realise many actors who claim 6'4-6'5 like to claim 220lbs and most of them doesn't looks it and worse case some look over 25lbs lower. Sometime i don't even think jared pass over 195lbs depends on some season of Supernatural. The lowest he look 190lbs and he never look over 210 for heaviest.

The camera angles don't favour Jensen that much, but Jared is for sure 6'4 as his eye level is pretty much the top of Jensen's head, which would make the latter man, 6ft. I feel he'd be pretty similar to Alexander Skarsgard, both are big 6'4 guys.

Two common thing. Actors all exagerrate height and weight higher to look good on perspectives. Actress all exagerrate height but downplay weight lower than atual size they are. Jared is really 6'4 or not i let alone but i don't buy him any over 210lbs at his heaviest and he probably weigh in 195-200lbs now

The 1/2 only comes out when I see a morning 192 call himself 6'4 and don't feel like arguing with the guy. Jared I see a solid 6'4 at his low of 193. But same for Alex don't see either below full 6'4. At that stage I prob would tell the diff tho if I met them because it's almost a cm

rob i just want to comment on your comment that he might shrink 3 cm during the day because of his height. i have said this before and i say it again. i am taller than him and i only shrink 1 cm from out of bed to morning. And the reason is i think that my back is very strong. DOnt do deadlifts anymore but for you to get the idea. I have benched 202,5 kg. So what i am trying to say is even if he is very tall he doesnt nesseserely shrink more. And he have packed on a little muscle in later years so my gues is that with his muscxle size i think he shrink about 2 cm during the day. while a guy like john cena shrink like me only 1 cm.

Actually, posture is noticeable. You should be able to tell if a person's body is slouched over or straight. But to precisely calculate how much a person is dropping height by slouching is the difficult part.

If I saw Rampage (6ft3 7/8) and Canson (6ft4 3/8) walking together, I would be able to tell that Canson is the taller one. Judging a .25 inch difference is where it starts to get very difficult.

That's possible too Christian. The difference between being 6'4.25 and 6'4 isn't noticeable. And he could still drop to 6'3 7/8 from 6'4.25 at his lowest. I am 6'4 3/8 normally at a low (about 196 cm out of bed) and have gotten down to exactly 6'4 on a couple occasions being on my feet at night very late after a gym day. I doubt that is the norm for Jared but 6'4 at his lowest could be.
That's possible too Christian. The difference between being 6'4.25 and 6'4 isn't noticeable. And he could still drop to 6'3 7/8 from 6'4.25 at his lowest. I am 6'4 3/8 normally at a low (about 196 cm out of bed) and have gotten down to exactly 6'4 on a couple occasions being on my feet at night very late after a gym day. I doubt that is the norm for Jared but 6'4 at his lowest could be.

I saw Jared lat night at Comicon. He looked 6'4 for sure. He struck me as slightly less tall than Ryan Mcpartlin, and definitely not as big as Derek Theler both of whom I've seen in person. Maybe a couple centimeters taller than Adam Baldwin, who I saw filming The Last Ship.

The impression I left with was Ryan looked taller than how 6ft 4 looks, but I never got that impression from jared, up close he is an inch smaller than say a guy like tom hopper looked standing about.

Fans are an actors bread and butter, the lifeblood of their fame and the fountain of their wealth...If someone paid me £30,000+ to attend a convention where fans have paid 100 quid to get in the door and then another £60 for a photo with you, I'd be making sure I looked my best in the photoshoots.

Editor Rob a little under 10 inches, maybe 9.6-9.7 range, he has I think equal eye-chin and eye-topof head.

Finally! A tall, good-looking actor whose height people on here actually accept. He's one of the VERY few male celebs on here who doesn't have any downgraders. A lot of people here seem to think he's actually TALLER than he's listed ⊙▃⊙. Yep, Jared's definitely a legit 6'4" guy.

Editor Rob unfortunately there isn't any great photos of them with equal posture, footwear etc. All I can offer is that Momoa when he stands tall looks near enough 6ft 4, as does Jared.

Editor Rob Joe has worse walking posture than Jared, he can carry himself smaller than when standing on his own. Joe looked taller, but I didn't have as much time seeing jared compared to a guy like joe up close

Editor Rob there's always a range that people can look, I think I've seen Momoa at 3 cons numerous times, his range might be 6ft 4 or at worst a little shy.

He's the most clear cut 6'4 you'll ever see. There's more of a chance of him measuring over that mark then under. Same thing with David Hasselhoff and Adam Baldwin- even if they don't look it in their respective photos.

Editor Rob McPartlin looks taller in person than Jared does, I think you'd really need to measure Jared to see if he was a bit above or below 6ft 4.
