He looks tall, but I guess his weight adds some bulk to make him look generally larger. I really felt for his LA Law character when he wanted to adopt a little boy, and even the seemingly previously selfish Arnie Becker wanted him to win.
He was also one of the two drunks who behaved menacingly toward Mr. Myagi and Daniel on the beach in "The Karate Kid", in response to which Mr. Myagi sliced through both their beer bottles with his bare hand. Great stuff!
