May McAvoy's Height
4ft 11 (149.9 cm)
American actress, best remembered for films such as The Jazz Singer, Ben-Hur (1925), The Lion and the Mouse, The Terror and Three Women. In a 1929 interview, she said
"I'm just 4 feet 11 inches now" and another article mentioned her weight:
"She weighs but 94 pounds and is 4 feet 11 inches in height".
Yes, it is odd that I always seem of normal height. The camera does strange things to one. I build up my height with lifts in my shoes and extra high heels. Even then, I'm never as tall as anyone else in the scene. Yet the difference is never noticeable.

Rob,
Just saw May McAvoy in Ben-Hur (1925) with Ramon Novarro and Francis X. Bushman. Thought these two actors would be good additions to your database. Mr. Novarro, especially, appears to be a worthy challenge for you. I think his height seems to change during the course of the movie.
Thanks and all the best!
Mike

@ Sandy Cowell - Hi!
I totally agree with you! When I look back at family photographs including my parents and grandparents I have noticed similarities between the adults and May, for me they look similar in the face to May in terms of their eyes and other facial features. I wonder what the reason is? I certainly don't think it would s just be the fashions. My Mum also points out to me that the adults from different generations also sound differently! I have noticed that myself!

@ Nik - Hi! I'm glad you agree! It could be misinterpreted by some, but in every photo I see of my parents when they were little, the grown-ups all look a bit like May! Could it be the fashions? Perhaps, but it seems to be so much more than that! 👍😉
